Mr. Ethan Richard King strode through the lobby of the hospital, his gait professional and controlled. Nothing in his face would betray his overwhelming sense disappointment for what he figured he would be told. Aiden had gotten into another fight, and this one was nearly fatal. The boy (for to Ethan, his son was certainly no more than a boy, he had much farther to go to mature) had been riddled with gunshots and had some broken bones, as well as a nasty blow to the head.
Ethan was expecting to find his son dieing or in a coma when he arrived at the hospital, instead, he was instructed to go to the fifth floor and find room 517, that was where his son was staying. A pretty blond nurse (they both shared the same shade, he noted absently) led him from the elevator to the room, then left with a smile that attempted to be comforting.
He didn't need comforting, actually, when Ella had died he was sure nothing could get worse. And In a way, nothing would be worse even if Aiden did die. A a matter of fact, it'd be one less person to worry about, to house and feed, to have to deal with when he returned home. Yes, life without Aiden would be nice, but the brat had the nerve to keep on LIVING. That was rather problematic...
Still, there was a small measure of satisfaction in seeing the giant (for the boy had grown taller than Mr King by a good half-foot) cower and tremble when Ethan entered rooms. He wasn't really a sadist, but it was a sick thrill that he had such control over his son.
The head of the King family readjusted his long black coat and entered room 517 to see his son knocked out and bandaged up. The nurse had mentioned morphine, but Ethan hadn't been listening. He supposed that the boy was knocked out from the pain medication, and thus wouldn't awaken for awhile.
If there was anyone else in the room, he either didn't notice or if he did gave no sign that he knew, and instead simply walked in.

Matsuda had left the room for a moment to grab something to eat. The other two girls(Xion and Locke he think their names were) weren't there at the moment, and the blond Ookami figured Aiden would need some company for whenever we woke up later on.
Though when he returned, he saw someone else in the room. It was an older man, he could only guess it was Aiden's father. The odd thing was, he didn't look the least bit worried or concerned.
"Are you Aiden's dad...?" Matsuda asked hesitantly. "I'm Matsuda... a friend of his."

At the sound of another person entering the room, Ethan turned his head only slightly to get a view of them. Blond, taller than him, looked... was that concern? Whether for Aiden or himself, concern, or god forbid, pity was intolerable. He kept his features schooled, however, he needed to ascertain why this Ookami claimed to be his son's friend of all things. Aiden had no friends. Not since Elementary school. After what happened with Ella, Aiden had cut his ties with most people.
"He has friends?" The last word was spat out like poison. As if the man couldn't bear to hear the word in conjunction with the slumbering Ookami in the bed. He didn't bother to answer the first question, who else would he be? With Aiden in the clans, the police generally didn't go near him. Still, with the brutish brunette's personality, Ethan had figured that he wouldn't have let anyone get close to him. Puzzling, but not impossible. The clan's ceasefire must have led to it.
There was very little pause between the statements. "Nevermind, what happened?" The nurse had summarized the injuries and hypothesized on what had happened, however he had been left to figure it out mostly for himself. He didn't have time for dawdling and mulling over mere possibilities anyway, he needed facts.

Matsuda looked at Mr King oddly for a moment. Yeah, Aiden wasn't really one of the nicest people, but did his own father have to word it that way?
The blond Ookami leaned against a nearby wall, putting his hands in his pockets. "All I know is that he got into a pretty big fight." Of course he knew much more than that, but he wasn't about to go into detail, especially since it involved his fugitive little sister.

Well he had known that much, anyone could have figured it out by simply looking at the boy. "I gathered that." He snapped to the younger blond. "However I'm sure you some insight into this matter that I myself have been denied. My first thought was a gang, but Aiden has been able to fight his way out of those before." Also, there was the issue of the head trauma and its severity, that was more than a bat could do. A fall from a large height was what he was thinking it might have been, however the nurse had simply told him to ask a doctor.
He didn't have the patience to ask some white-coated bastard his opinion on the matter, though. Especially when they had let his wife slip through their fingers. He had lost his trust in most medical officials and he had been surprised that Aiden had submitted himself to checkups. Though he supposed that the lifestyle demanded it.
"Especially with you being his friend, and all." The word friend appeared strained, as if he was trying not to gag. And Ethan most likely was trying his best to prevent that action for occurring.

Matsuda took a deep breath, Mr King might just be frustrated with everything. He wasn't going to return the bad attitude, not in this situation. Still, Aiden's father gave a bad sort of vibe to the Ookami. He had a pretty good sense when it came to this, he HAD lived all his life with probably one of the worst fathers in history.
"Well I did hear that he fell off the roof of the school." he added, no hint of annoyance or anything negative in his voice. He was going to be polite, or at least try to be.
"And yeah, I'm his friend." he added, still with the same politeness. "You're putting a tad too much emphasis on that word." he pointed out.

"The boy hasn't had a friend since he was six. I doubt his capability of making acquaintances, let alone friends." However, he had had one suspicion confirmed. If Aiden had fallen off the school's roof he was probably playing his saxophone, Ethan made a note that before he left this god-forsaken hell hole of a city he would bury that damn thing.
"Now what's the damage?" He asked, voice not relaxing, he didn't even give an indication that the original topic had been interrupted. If he was near death he could perhaps persuade the doctors to let him die. Make up an excuse about morality, maybe. Those were crowd-pleasers. It should work on an Ookami who was barely old enough to be on his own and a few half-wit doctors.

"Well, he does have a friend, a few actually." Matsuda replied to him. The politeness was starting to fade slightly, but it was still there somewhat. "As for the damage, he's got amnesia. He can't recall much of anything. All he knows for the moment is what people have told him since he got here."
Right then the issue about Aiden's family came up in his mind. Aiden was told he didn't have a family around anymore, what if he woke up during his dad's visit and question who he was? He didn't think that would be a problem, the giant Ookami seemed to be out cold from morphine, but Matsuda always was the paranoid type.

Ethan now turned to actually look at the Ookami. This was a bit interesting. "What was he told?" Depending on what it was, perhaps he wouldn't even need to tell Aiden about his departure.
Sure, the now ex-government official could hear the fading politeness of Matsuda's speech, but he decided that it didn't matter. The blond Ookami wasn't asking the questions, he was. Therefore, as long as Ethan got his answer, he didn't care much how politely it was delivered.

Matsuda frowned as the question was asked. "He was told he basically didn't have a family anymore and that he was living on his own from what I recall. So he wouldn't know you, Jack or Tekka." he paused for a moment and added. "And yes, I'm friends with them too."
He sighed and looked over at Aiden for a moment before turning his attention back to Mr King. "So what are you gonna do about that?"

"Nothing." He said, simply. It certainly made his departure that much easier to do. No messy explaining and settling of affairs. Aiden wouldn't claim the house because he wouldn't know of it. It would go to Jack, who deserved it quite a bit more in Ethan's eyes. Tekka... well, Tekka he didn't much care about either way. She was still a child, and he wasn't exactly attached to her.
"This actually keeps everything nice and simple." There was a hint of a smile. "The brat can die for all I care, really, this just keeps him from trying to find me." And Mr. King really never wanted to see anything to remind him of this damnable city ever again. New World City, that was his destination. Back to his home before Ella. Perfect.

Matsuda twitched when he heard this. "But he's your son..." he said slowly. He wasn't going to lose it, he had heard parents say similar things about their children before, he could handle this in an appropriate way. Especially with them being in a hospital, he couldn't do anything he'd regret, there'd be far too much explaining to do on his part. He had to keep his cool, and he was. At least he hoped he was.

"Yes, he is." Ethan replied. "But that doesn't change anything. He's more trouble than he's worth, I would rather see him dead than need to spend another day near him." The smile only widened. "And now I can get on with my life!" There was a laugh, strained, but not forced. It was more like the laughing physically pained him, but he wanted to do it anyway.
He calmed a moment or so later and shook his head, smile remaining. "I pity the fool that takes him in."

Mr. King was REALLY testing Matsuda's temper now. He kept his clenched hands in his pockets to give them some sort of barrier. It was pretty much the only thing in his way of giving some sort of hit towards the man. "Why is it every father I meet is just a piece of shit?" he asked with a forced smile. Really, what was wrong with parents these days? It was really starting to piss him off!

Ethan's smile didn't fade. "Because the city's hell and we can only last for so long." He stated. Oh how he wanted to return to New World, find his old town and house where he had never even HEARD of Hatsu Itonami and just while away the rest of his days in solitude. "And believe me, boy, I've been called much worse things than that in my time." Another chuckle.
