Aiden's eyes widened a little, though it was more from surprise than revulsion. Maybe that was why they were friends too? A small bit of a memory surfaced, a big guy down on the floor and bleeding, a rush of disappointment as he realized it had taken too many hits for his taste, a disgusted looking Matsuda, and then it was over.
He blinked as he returned to himself, then glanced back over to Matsuda. "You didn't like me beating him up at first, did you?"

Matsuda shook his head. "Not for the reason you're probably thinking though." he told him. "You'd already known this before so I don't really mind telling you, but my dad's been beating us since I was a kid." There weren't enough people around to over hear, and Aiden had known before the amnesia, so he didn't sound a bit awkward explaining in the slightest.
"When I mentioned getting into fights when I was younger, I meant fights with him. Didn't like it, I just wanted to keep my family safe was all. When you started beating the shit out of him I kept thinking he was gonna get pissed later on and take out on my mom or something." he sighed. "Fortunately to my knowledge, that didn't happen, but that was the only reason I didn't like you beating him up." he hoped that made sense.

Oh, well, that made sense. It also made the Ookami feel much MUCH better about kicking the crap out of Mr. Megumi. He was surprised that Matsuda said it the way he did though, like it was nothing. He had expected bitterness or rage or something... He had a feeling he'd be in for surprises like that for awhile now. Still, something was bugging him. "Why did I even kick the crap outta him in the first place? Did I know about that or..?" Well he wasn't sure what the other scenarios might have been, really.

Matsuda had to think for a moment. "I believe your words were 'He comes in and tries to beat the shit out of you when I've already got dibs.'" Despite getting beaten around for years, the Ookami's brain was still perfectly fine when it came to memory. "So basically, he budded in and and started hittin' me around and you didn't like someone else using your current punching bag." he shrugged and grinned, as if everything he had just explained was perfectly normal.

Aiden just looked extremely puzzled by this point. His entire mental state was summed up in the next nine words. "How the hell did we wind up being friends?"

Matsu couldn't help but snicker a little at how Aiden had asked all that. He was kinda expecting that sort of reaction. "Beats me." he shrugged, still grinning a little. "But I'm willing to bet my life it wouldn't of happened if it weren't for 'Doka." Sure, she didn't pin them down and tell them to be nice while holding a gun to their heads or anything, but it was because of her that the two Ookamis actually calmed down enough to actually just hang out without threatening each other's lives.

Aiden finished off the last of his food as he mulled that over. "That Madoka person's gotta be pretty damn amazin..." He decided, almost but not quite unaware that he had spoken aloud. He was beginning to look forward to meeting her more and more. He wondered what she'd be like. Well... he had a direct source in front of him, why not ask? "What's 'Doka" he wasn't sure why he was using the nickname, but it couldn't have been anything bad, so it was alright he supposed. "like?"

"Well," Matsuda said, trying to put his thoughts together. "she's pretty simple first off. Ever get into an argument with her all ya gotta do is buy her a Dr. Pepper and you're practically a god to her." he laughed a little. "She has a tendency to act like a baby a lot, but she'll be serious if you ask her to. Pretty clever, too."
He started to grow a little serious. "But her parents are a bad subject to bring up, I wouldn't mention them around her." he sighed a little and decided to explain. "Her mom died in childbirth, and her dad was murdered right in front of her. My girlfriend," he paused. "her best friend, took her in and practically turned into a mother figure for her, but she's been gone so much that 'Doka's been starting to feel lonely again."
He finished off what little was left of his water and pointed at Aiden. "That's where you came in." he told him. "You're like a brother to her, closest thing to family she's got now." He decided not to mention the girl's mutism at the moment, or the events leading to it in the first place. He wasn't even fully aware of how it had happened.

Aiden blinked. "Does she know that I don't remember anything?" He decided to ask, hoping that he wouldn't have to break it to the poor girl himself. He didn't want to be responsible for hurting Doka, even if it was unavoidable.

He nodded. "Yeah, but she's determined to work with it so I think you'll be fine." After all, Aiden was sort of the girl's only hope at this point, why else wouldn't she?

Aiden nodded. "Okay then." He'd have to be a good brother, or at least try really hard. He couldn't let Madoka down. He stifled a yawn. Okay, maybe there was something to whatever the doctor had been saying about needing rest. The Ookami was getting kind of tired, he hadn't really walked since that first day, he slept far too much or his tastes.

Matsuda gave Aiden an odd look when he yawned. "Tired already?" he asked, beginning to stand up from his seat. "We can head back if you're done." he said, tossing his empty water bottle into a trash can a little behind where Aiden was sitting. Perfect throw if he said so himself, it made it in without trouble.

Aiden nodded and gave a sheepish smile. "They've been pumping me so fulla meds I'm barely coherent half the time. Sorry..." He wasn't sure what he was apologizing for, but his head was fuzzy and he didn't really care much.

The blond Ookami laughed a little. "It's all good, let's head back then." he said, putting his hands in his pockets.

Aiden nodded and dumped his tray, putting it on a stack of other plastic trays before following the elder Ookami. He'd have gotten lost if he went by himself, and he was willing to just let the blond lead. He stumbled as he walked, but didn't fall.
