Matsuda gritted his teeth together for a moment. He didn't like what he was about to say, it was sinking pretty low in his eyes, but sometimes you just had to let things out. "Just because your wife died doesn't mean you can turn your back on your kids!" he tried not to yell loud enough to wake Aiden, but the words wouldn't have the same effect if he had just SAID them.

Ethan began to laugh again, louder and stronger than the last time. When he calmed his eyes weren't as clear as they were before, but they were brighter. "You think I CARE?" He half-yelled, "Really!?" Another bout of laughter. Honestly, kids these days. "I'm long over Ella's death, it's been YEARS, boy!" As if he was still grieving. "She was the only reason I stayed in this place, and it was only because of the two children she loved that I stuck around for as long as I did. I'm done. I'm sick of it all." The clans, the war, the deaths, the fighting, his son's slipping sanity, his daughter's alienation. He was just sick and tired of it all.

Matsuda growled. He wasn't going to hit him, he simply refused! But that didn't mean he was going to let him off. "You are really pathetic, you know that?" he told him, starting to get in his face. "It's because of parents like you who don't give a fuck about their kids that they grow up to be as messed up as they are!" Seriously, nearly everyone he knew that had some sort of problem rooted all the way to their parents. Him, Hotaru and Naomi. Madoka. The Kings. Even Keisko. All their troubles were somehow linked to something involving their parents, and while they acted like everything was great and all, it just wasn't the same as what it cold be, he just knew it.

"I'm also old, boy." He said, now relatively calm again. "Older than I care to tell you, and you can call me pathetic all you like, the damage is done and I don't care enough to see the results." Ethan put his hands in his pockets and looked down at Aiden.
The Ookami, to his credit, was doing an incredibly good job at feigning sleep. Mostly because he was dozing, and thus only getting about half the words. Matsu was in the room... and someone else.... they were arguing and it was getting louder... During his stay at the hospital, Aiden had gotten adept at faking sleep and identifying voices. It's not like he had much else to do anyway. If this argument got much louder though, he might have to wake up fully and say something, but right now he liked the warm fuzzy cocoon of light-slumber.

The blond Ookami took a few long deep breaths to try to calm himself. He took a hand out of his pocket and pointed a finger in the direction of the door. "If you don't care, then get the FUCK out." he growled to the elder man. "Just leave right now so no one has to see your ugly face again."

Ethan glanced to the door and then back to Matsuda, looking him right in the eyes. "I will, but I want to know just a little bit more. Like why you befriended the boy, really." A slightly twisted smile, something Tekka had inherited from him. They looked quite alike, honestly. "It can't be because of his personality." Aiden had been known to attack people with little to no warning sometimes. How Matsuda managed to get close was a small wonder, let alone the others. Maybe Aiden had joined a gang...

Matsuda had to pause and think about that for a moment. He couldn't explain EVERYTHING to him, that would mean spilling about Hotaru. "Honestly, we absolutely hated each other at first." he decided to start out with. "I thought he was rude and self centered jerk, and he just flat out hated my guts. But we just so happened to have a friend in common who was in the hospital, when I came to see her he was there too." A slight pause. "We sat everything aside for the most part for our friend's sake, and we had a nice little talk.
"Once I got to know him, I realized he wasn't really a bad guy, he just had some anger issues." there was a slight grin. "Every since, we've been friends." He let the grin drop as he looked right back at Mr King. "So there. Now get out."

Ethan ignored the command. he would go when he was satisfied. "And I take it you've witnessed his... episodes?" The little bits of psychotic behavior that happened every so often. The boy had never seemed to remember them after they occurred, though Ethan knew he could piece together what had happened when he woke up from the trance. Often he would have a few new scars on his body, mostly self inflicted, but all patched up by either Jack or a caring neighbor that Ethan made sure committed an act of 'treason' before they said anything about the fits.

Matsuda glared at the man. This was starting to feel like the interrogation Aiden had given him when he barged into the blond's home. It was their first official meeting, back then he never would've guessed he'd be here looking out for the younger Ookami like he was now. "I'm not answering anymore questions." he told him, voice as hard and stable as it ever had been. "If you don't care about him, then it's none of your business what I've seen him do and not do."

Ethan plunged onward, completely ignoring the younger man. "Why do you care? Aside from him being your 'friend' he's done nothing for you, and he never will." He had a harsh look, eyes never moving from Matsuda's. "I'm making sure you know what you're getting into, boy. He'll bring nothing but trouble if you stay around, and I think you know that. Even without his memory, not everything is going to be right in that head of his." His hand moved to gesture to Aiden's own head, but his eyes stayed locked on the younger blond. "Now why in God's name would you be willing to stick around?"

Matsuda froze. He was right, as much as he hated to admit it. Aiden could very well snap if something were to catch his attention. Why WAS he sticking around?
Then he remembered that night visiting Hotaru in the hospital. When Eva told him and Jack about Aiden's condition. He had never seen the younger Ookami look so devastated before.
"Because I told Jack I would." he finally told him. "And I don't go back on my word. Ever."

Aiden couldn't help but shift a little at that. Who was Jack and why did this new guy keep insisting he'd just be a pain in the ass to everyone? The half-asleep Ookami didn't think he could be that messed up... could he?
Ethan appeared satisfied with this answer, and shut his eyes. He hadn't blinked while he was looking at Matsuda, and his eyes were stinging. "You're quite alike like that." He commented, reopening his eyes and returning his hand to his pocket. "Stick with him if your promise means so much to you, you'll regret it soon enough, I'm sure." He said. "I've left him nothing, he's all yours." With that, Ethan gave a brisk nod to the Ookami and strode out the door. He would leave the country in two hours, and no one would hear from him again.
The large Ookami in the bed cracked one eye as the door shut, a few questions buzzing around his head.

Matsuda watched silently as the man walked out of the room. When the door was closed behind him, the Ookami started to relax and leaned again the wall. He his hand through his hair for a moment and looked down at Aiden. The brunette had one eye slightly opened.
Oh shit, how much did he hear? "Er, sorry." he muttered awkwardly. Now how was he going to explain this...?

Aiden frowned and moved to sit up, Matsuda wasn't supposed to see. His ribs were mostly better by now, but it would be a little longer before his knee and leg were at their best again. He could sit and stand, but he couldn't walk much more than he had been able to on the first day. Well, that was what he figured, they hadn't really let him try all that much...
At least he could ask questions now though. "S'okay. Who was that guy anyway?" He was guessing a landlord or something.

"My uncle." Matsuda decided to go with. "We're not too close if you couldn't tell." he scratched his cheek a little, grinning slightly. "But that's not important, he's gone now."
The blond walked to a nearby chair and took a seat, looking back at his friend. "So how ya feelin' today?" he asked him, changing the topic. "I would've brought you somethin' to eat but I wasn't sure if you'd be waking up soon or not."
