The Tora sighed and let out a slight smile as she came upon her destination. She hadn't had anything better to do that day and planned a quiet day at the cemetery of all places. Creepy? No, not really, she was there to visit her ex-boyfriend's grave.
Eva's grin was a strangely peaceful one as she stood in front of a grave marked 'Yusuke Tanaka' aka, the one that attempted at killing Boss way back in the day, but ended up killing his own brother instead. It was an accident, of course, but Hotaru had gone off and killed him later on to settle the score. The blond always seemed calm the few times that topic was brought up, almost heartless even, like she didn't care about the man that she had been with. Well, that was what she wanted most people to think. After all, she didn't like looking weak, in fact she hated it. Her small break down at the hospital a while back was enough to piss her off more than she could remember later on.
She decided to let this go for the moment. No one was around, but who knew who long that would last? Eva took a few more steps to the tombstone and stroked it with her hand for a moment. "Hey, asshole." she murmured, though it was with a soft, almost caring voice. She walked a little passed the stone and sat behind it, back to back with it. Her and Yusuke would normally sit like this when it was the two of them, at least, before they met Hotaru and he didn't have a reason to be so angry all the time. She sat there for a while, talking about various things, most were meaningless. She just liked the idea of getting to talk to him. After a while, she decided that it would be a good place to take a nap since no one was around that she could see. She drifted off, resting her head on the back of Yusuke's tombstone. Yes, it was nice not to put up the bitchy and couldn't care less act for once. Rather relaxing, actually, but she knew it wouldn't last for long.

Jack stooped down beneath the shade of the tree in the graveyard, looking at the headstone nearby it before beginning to talk. "Hi mom, you must be getting kinda lonely these days..." He started. "Aiden's not gonna be able to visit as much, he's... he was in the hospital and I don't think he can remember anything. Dad bailed too, so no one's home but me. Maybe Tekka'll be there too if I can convince her..."
The Ookami kept talking, moving on to talking about his new job (the interview had gone well and he was planning on going over to tell Hotaru later that day) and then to more trivial things. It was nice to just talk and think for once, even if there wasn't really anyone to listen. At least, he was pretty sure on that one.
"Anyway," He said as he finished. "I guess I need to get going. I'll be back in a few days mom, don't worry." He rested a hand on the headstone and was about to move when he heard someone else talking. Peeking around the tree he saw Eva, or at least her back, in front of one of the graves.
Weighing his options (and his curiosity and his top running speed) the Ookami decided to stick around, he may be able to see what had the blond acting like such a bitch all the time.

It was at least an hour or two before Eva began waking up a little. Damn, she didn't even mean to sleep so long in the first place. "Shit..." she muttered, rubbing her eyes as she turned to face the side of the stone with Yusuke's name. "Moron, you should have woken me up, like you use to." she knew there was no point in saying all of that, it wasn't like he could actually nudge her or get her to wake up in anyway, but it gave her an excuse to hang around a little more.
"Oh, by the way," she muttered, frowning slightly. "All those times I acted like I didn't care that Hotaru was the one that, well, ya know..." she sighed, deciding to continue. "I really did care, I just didn't wanna show it, you'd do the same thing, right?" she laughed a little, of course he would have.
Eva was about to add something, but she had a feeling someone was around, watching her. She looked the other way and saw Lover Boy not too far off. "WHAT in the HELL are you standin' there for?!" she yelled, instantly jumping back to her normal self. How much of that had he seen exactly?!

Jach jumped as Eva turned to him, body tensing as he prepared to make a break for it should she move closer. When she asked, though, he gestured to the grave beside him. "I was visiting my mom and I heard you talking. What about you?" He kept his voice a lot calmer than he really felt, not wanting to set off a human bomb who could probably splatter his innards across the wall if she wanted to (and if he wasn't Hotaru's boyfriend).

Eva was breathing slightly harder than normal, mainly because she was pissed off, but also because she got a little scared. When Jack mentioned his mom, Eva sighed and rolled her eyes, showing that she didn't really care. When the question was throw back at her, however, she instantly sat up against Yusuke's name to block it from his view. There was no doubt in her mind that if Jack knew who Yusuke was, he had only heard bad things about him. She didn't want him finding out that was who she was visiting, it would have been embarrassing if Boss found out.
"Just seein' an old friend." she spat out at him, clear that she didn't want his company in the slightest. "Shouldn't you be off with Boss or sumthin'?" she asked without making eye contact with him.

Jack shrugged. "Probably, but there was some stuff I needed to get done before I could go see her." He noted her slightly suspicious blocking of the headstone. "And I know you don't like me, but can we at least talk like civilized people for maybe ten minutes?" He was trying to be nice, really he was. Eva seemed to be talented at straining his patience though, they had barely been talking for a minute and yet he half-wanted to punch her. What was with the hostility?

Eva sighed impatiently. She really wanted him to leave so she could get a little more time to talk to Yusuke, but it would only make things more suspicious, even if it was clear that she didn't like him. "One: I don't just 'not like you', I hate you, plain and simple. And if there's something you wanna talk about then fine, I guess I can deal with you a little longer." she turned her eyes back to him, giving him a look as if to say, "So?"

Jack figured that there was really no sense in dancing around the issue at hand. "Two things come to mind right off the bat," He started, leaning against the tree and holding up two fingers. "First off, is there any other reason why you hate me other than that I'm dating Hotaru?" He decided to leave the second question for if he could get some sort of positive response out of Eva. Maybe if they talked for just a little bit he could pull a miracle...

"You wanna know why?" she asked him, already knowing that question was coming up at some point. She went ahead and stood to her feet, taking a few steps toward him. Her blue eyes were hard and set in a glare at the boy as she began to explain.
"You think you can just walk right in and change her whole life, don't you?" she began. "Make her forget what she's been through, the people that were there for her before you had even heard her name on the news? Dead or not, Greg was the ONLY person that could break through to her and help her! And it only took you, what, a few jokes and the right words to make her THINK she was safe with you?! He worked hard to see her happy and you've probably hardly done a fucking thing!" she took a few deep breathes to try to calm herself before she did anything else. "You make me sick, you filthy piece of shit."

Jack listened to Eva's tirade, the words struck hard and he was surprised that he hadn't averted his eyes. He stood firm though, waiting a moment while he picked his words carefully. "I'm not trying to make her forget." He started. "Who she was and what she did are parts of who she is, and it's not really possible to forget them." Another pause. "And she hasn't forgotten the people who were there for her before, and that's definitely something I'd never want to make her forget."
His posture never moved or shifted, and he kept his eyes on Eva's. He was the one talking now, so at least he could do something to defend himself. "And I'm no Greg." He started again. "I know that's something you understand completely, but I'm not quite capable of that level of badassery." He gave a weak smile. "I'm not great at fighting, and your right, I probably only make her think she's safe. But I'm trying. It's not much, but it's something, and who knows, maybe I'll wind up being lucky and that trying might actually WORK." He was beginning to feel indignant by this point, a good contrast to the beginning. And the change was beginning to show.
His gaze hardened a little. "All that, I'll admit to, but don't you EVER assume I'm not trying to make her happy." He didn't raise his voice a single bit, but the harshness was felt throughout the words.

Eva took a few moments to get her thoughts together. She was use to spitting out whatever came to mind, but there was no way she'd even risk making herself look like a fool in front of Jack of all people. Her glare was still pretty hard at this point, in fact it probably got a little worse.
"Say what you want, but here's what pisses me off more than anything:" she began, clenching her fists to restrain from punching him. "In the fight at the school, when she and Aiden had it out, did you even make a REAL attempt to go in and help her out?" she asked him, a mixture of anger and mock curiosity on her face. "Tell me what exactly was goin' through that head of yours at the time, will ya? 'Cause I'd just LOVE to know!" She faintly recalled him trying to shoot Aiden with no real success, but aside from that, Eva couldn't remember Jack trying to help Boss all that much.
She just hoped he wouldn't reply with the whole "he's my brother" excuse, okay, well, in a way she kinda did. It give her more of an opportunity to mention Greg. What a good kid, why did he have to die? Him and Hotaru could have had a happy life together, maybe get married eventually given a few years. That was a nice image to calm her down a little, how sweet that would have been... She almost smiled, before dragging herself back into reality and waiting on Jack's reply.

Jack tensed. She had a point, and that hurt harder than he thought it would have. Especially since it was a GOOD point, and all he had to excuse it was the simple fact that he had been scared and unable to shoot his own brother. "Exactly what was going through my head?" He asked, just to be sure. He began ticking off on his fingers. "My gun isn't working; Hotaru is much better in a fight than I am; I'm only go to get in the way if I try to step in; I need to help; hey doesn't Kage have two guns?"
He moved to his other hand. "I can't shoot the guy that raised me though, it wouldn't be right; my aim is shit; I'll wind up shooting the wrong person; he's already down for the count, it'd be like beating a dead horse; oh, there he goes over the edge; Hotaru's okay; Aiden's dead..." He folded his arms somewhat awkwardly, not sure what to do with his limbs right then. "So yeah, that's sort of what was going through my head."

Eva listened quietly, somehow finding enough patience to listen without getting too upset. Imagining Hotaru and Greg being happy together seemed to calm her down more than she had thought. "Okay, now I've got one more question for ya, Lover Boy. What if it was the other way around? What if Hotaru was the one to fall off the side of the building and die or get amnesia or somthin' like that and Aiden ended up perfectly fine, huh?" This would be the last out of her end of questions, she came here to let go of the bitchy act for a while, instead she ended up going on it full force.

Jack's hands tightened on his arms at Eva asked her question. "I'd kill him." He said, voice sure and unwavering. Serious. "If Hotaru was the one that went over the edge instead of Aiden, I'd kill him." Especially since it was only because he was a highlander that Aiden had survived. Hotaru was fine now, and she was as safe as Jack could make her, so Aiden was left alone. But if Aiden had killed Hotaru, he'd kill his own brother over it, lack of physical capability or no.

There was a small, almost unnoticed grin that spread across Eva's lips as she pat his head. It wasn't a comforting one, more like one would give a dog after catching a ball or something. "Good boy." she said, turning back around to face Yusuke's headstone again. "But, there's no real way of actually proving that, so I can't tell for sure if that's the truth or not, but I'll live with it for now."
She kept her eyes on Yusuke's name as she spoke again. "So ya said ya had two questions, what was the second one?"
