Jack shrugged. "Not particularly important, but just who are you visiting?" He was curious, and since the dangers seemed to have passed, he was willing to try his luck with an innocent question. Sometimes people wanted to talk, all you had to do was ask. He was pretty sure it wasn't going to be the case with Eva, but he figured he couldn't really get more onto her bad side than he was to begin with.

Eva let out a quiet sigh before moving out of the way just enough for Jack to see the name. "We were dating, don't think I have to tell you anything else about him. Somethin' tells me Boss has told you a good bit about him already." If she was right, and Jack had indeed only heard bad things about Yusuke, then he'd probably be curious as to why she dated him in the first place. If he asked anything of the sort, she figured she'd tell him, he DID just go through her verbal attacks a moment ago. Eva could only be so rude for a while, she'd tone it down a little, but she'd still like to keep it clear that she didn't like him, either way.

Jack blinked at the name on the headstone. "Yusuke... the guy that tried to kill Hotaru, right?" He frowned. It wasn't like he was really capable of judging considering he had never met the guy, but from what he had heard Yusuke had been bad news. "And you dated him?" The unspoken 'why' rang clear through the question, more curious than demanding.

Eva gave an awkward shrug. "See, thing is, as much as I don't like people blaming her of a lot of things, I also like to tell it how it is in this case." she told him. "Yusuke... wasn't really so much of a dick until Hotaru beat the crap outta him and took his status as gang leader. I mean, he was still a little hard to tolerate at times, but after he took that beating, he turned into a completely different person." a loud sigh escaped her lips. "We never officially broke up, but he knew where I stood when it came to the two of them. Normal fights and arguments, I stay out of it and play neutral, but when things got serious, I always sided with Hotaru."
She grinned slightly. "And I guess I always had a thing for the muscle-y, jerk sorta type from the beginning. Like your brother." she added that last sentence as quietly as possible. She finally accepted the fact that she had liked him sort of, but there was no point in trying to hide it anymore. Aiden couldn't remember a thing, including her. It bothered her but she ignored it as much as she was able to.

Jack listened patiently, sitting down by the tree instead of leaning now. He figured since he wasn't really planning on ditching he might as well sit and be comfortable. "So he knew where your loyalties were..." The Ookami nodded.
After hearing the last part, he couldn't help but crack a small smile. "Was that why you checked up on him at the hospital?" Jack asked deciding to move topics for a bit. He figured that he could take Eva's word on Yusuke, Hotaru's perception was going to be a bit slanted (and with good reason) when it came to that. It was always good to hear several sides to a story anyway. Hopefully he could slowly pry open Eva's bitch-shield and maybe improve himself in her books.

Eva nodded. "If my brother wasnt his doctor I wouldn't have had anythin' close to an excuse." she told him. She turned back to Jack, raising a brow slighty. "What would ya say if I said I gave the big guy his first kiss?" she asked. "We were drunk, but I still count it."

Jack chuckled. "I'd say it was about damn time that happened." He grinned, though it faded quickly. That had probably made it a little harder on Eva than on everyone else. Aiden was an ass, but he seemed to be able to draw people in around him. Eva, Xion, Madoka, that white-haired woman, even Matsuda... it was odd how many friends Aiden had had, and it made Jack a bit guilty to think about it.

The Tora nodded, not really smiling or frowning. "Ya must think I'm cold hearted." she told him, sitting down and resting her chin on one of her knees. "So far the only two guys I've ever even semi-liked, I've helped in some way ruin them without hesitatin'." She ran her hand across the ground for a moment. "Love's pointless if ya ask me, only hurts ya in the end." She grinned uneasily, still looking at the ground.

Jack shrugged. "When you really thing about it, everything ends in death." He said. "Course, that doesn't mean the ride ain't fun." His smile returned. "I say keep looking for someone, third time's the charm and all that, right?" And by his count, Yusuke and Aiden were two. Eva was due for some luck in her love life.

Jack's comment made Eva snicker a little. "Nah, I think I'm good." she told him. "Toldja already, love hurts too much, complicated too. It's just... not my thing." she decided to word it. "I've got my few friends and that's all I want."

Jack shrugged. "If it works for you. Not like I'm qualified to give advice anyway, you've got far more life experience than I do." He blinked and a slight feeling of doom overcame him as he thought of the implications that statement might hold.

Eva twitched slightly. "More experience?" she asked, turning her attention back to him. "Mind tellin' me just what that means Lover Boy?" she asked, not exactly scowling, but she wasn't joking either. It may have seemed like a stupid thing to get upset over, but she was still trying to keep up the wall she had as much as possible. Jack seemed like an easy person to get along with. Too easy, in fact, as long as you weren't exactly insane. Still, she refused to be friends with him, she was determined. If it meant going off about the silliest things, then so be it.

Jack was forever thankful that he had prepared a mental list of bullshit excuses for just such an occasion. "Well," He started, dredging up the possible escape routes from the pits and pitfalls of his brain. "Considering I was kinda sheltered for a good part of my life, and you were in a gang, I think you may know a bit more about the world than I do." He really hoped that would save his ass.

A pretty believable growl came from the blond. She could pry a little more, but it would just be pointless and stupid. "Asshole." she said, turning back to the ground. A second or two passed and she got curious about something. "So how did you and Boss meet, anyway?" she asked. "Never crossed my mind to ask her yet."

Jack gave a slightly nervous laugh, turning more lighthearted as the topic switched. "I actually met her around here." He said. "She was visiting Greg's grave and I was trying to find where my little sister hid my music sheets and we sort of bumped into each other and started talking." The pianist smiled at the memory. "Then we went and got something to eat, and then vandalized City Hall, good times..."
