Jack winced as the whack hit dead-on. His hand moved to the sore spot and rubbed it. "Oooowww...." He whined dramatically before turning back to the grave. "Don't worry, it's a front, she misses you." He was pretty sure another whack was headed his way...

Eva growled quietly before smacking him again. "Shut the hell up! You don't know me!" she nearly yelled. "He's dead and gone for good, dammit. 'Sides, it's Hotaru that misses him. I just come around every now and then when I got nuthin' better to do's all." she protested.

Jack held the spot and kept his hand there, hopeful that this might protect from future attacks. "If you didn't care you wouldn't come at all." He said, keeping his voice calm. There wasn't really too much emotion it that voice this time though. He was stating a fact, one he knew well. "If you didn't want him to listen, why talk? Why get me to talk?"

Eva had on her usual glare that she'd been saving for Jack lately. "I talk so I don't have to lie to Boss every time she asks if I've come up to see him. I asked you to talk 'cause I wanted to see if you'd actually put some effort in tryin' to have anythin' to do with the man who loved her first." The first part, yeah it was a lie. The second was meant to be one, too, however the more she thought about that, the more she started to believe it. "I still don't trust you." she decided to leave it at that.

Jack was slowly beginning to get used to the glare, not a good sign. Still, he wasn't sure what she said was the truth, not the whole one anyway. "...I'm not all that sure I believe that first part." He said. "Didn't you say he was like your younger brother?" Why wouldn't you visit family? Even honorary family.

Eva didn't hesitate to respond. "I've got five siblings I don't talk to anymore if you don't remember, two of which I was very close to before I was kicked out. I think if I wanted to stop talking to someone I cared about I could." there was a slight pause. "I'm just like that, okay?"

Jack sighed and shook his head. "I still don't think so..." He said. "That's the family that kicked you out, he's part of the family that took you in, or you took him in, whichever." He wasn't so sure about who entered the gang when. The Ookami gave a shrug. "Or maybe that's not it, either way, I don't think that's all there is to it or to you."

Eva stood there for a long moment, trying not to show too much sign of emotion. "...You're too optimistic." she settled with saying. "Not everyone's got that nice, caring side to them." she pointed out. She let out a loud sigh and looked down at her feet for a while. There was an unsteady grin on her face as she looked back over at Jack.
"Parents' never saw anythin' good in me, so why should you? Of all people, huh?" she asked, truly curious. So far, all she'd done was try every way possible to try pissing him off, and he was sitting there insisting she actually did care about someone.

Jach shrugged again. "I lived with Aiden long enough to figure out that no matter how much of an ass someone is, they've always got at least something good in them." He cracked a grin. "So unluckily for your 'bitch' image, that's how I think of things." There was a small laugh.

Eva shook her head a little, keeping too much of a grin from coming up. She still had a small one when she looked back at him. "Yeah, well, keep thinkin' that way. For Hotaru's sake." she told him. "She said that's what made her fall for you in the first place." she shrugged. "Kinda made me sick listenin' to all that love crap, but I tolerated it." her grin got a little wider.

Jack grinned. "I will, no worries." After the last part though, he scratched his cheek and gave a small laugh. "Thanks for not killing it then." He looked back to the gravestone after a moment, hadn't they been talking to Greg before?

The Tora turned back to Greg's grave, remembering the same thing. She laughed slightly, laying a hand over the top of the stone. "Sorry 'bout that, Greggy." she apologized, still grinning slightly. "Didn't mean to ignore you." It made her feel a little guilty. she was here trying to keep her image(failing miserably at doing so, but still trying), while ignoring the whole reason she was there in the first place.

Jack's grinned turned sheepish as he looked at the grave. "Guess we got sort of carried away with that..." The smile turned a bit less sheepish after a moment though. "But hey, I proved she cares, right?"

Eva took a deep breath and sighed lightly, kicking Jack's leg. It wasn't too hard, he'd still be able to walk without limping or anything. "Yeah, I sure care alright." she said, trying to keep from laughing.

Jack gave her a punch on the shoulder in return. "Why d'ya like beating on me anyhow?" He was grinning a little as he asked. "Am I that fun a punching bag?" He was clearly joking, there was no reason to destroy the truce they had after all.
