Hotaru and Jack walked into The Mystic Wok, holding his hand as usual when she spotted one of the guys that she usually worked up there with when she was on shift. He was a tall, thinner man, with short blond hair and brown eyes. When he saw the two walk in, his face instantly turned pale. Hotaru sighed, her boyfriend's reputation had spread.
"Don't worry, he promised he's on his best behavior." she told him. "Can we get a booth?" she then asked him.
"Um, sure, right this way." he said, leading the two to a booth near the back of the restaurant.

Jack gave a charming smile, trying to dispel the server's apparent unease with good old fashion friendliness.
It didn't work.
Soon enough, the pair was seated at a booth and given a pair of menus before their host scurried off. "Huh..." Jack mused. "I haven't even done anything this time..." He supposed his reputation proceeded him.

Hotaru giggled. "That's the point. They're scared of what you will do." she told him, still smiling when she realized another thing.
"Y'know," she said. "Last time the two of us came here together was the day we met, wasn't it?" she asked him, though she was pretty sure she was right. After all, that WAS the day Jack's terrible rep at the place had actually been brought up. It wasn't that easy to forget.

Jack blinked. "You're right." The brunette chuckled. "I wonder, does that waitress, Vivian I think, does she honestly think I'm a criminal and you're pregnant?" If he was remembering his day correctly, those had been but two of the tales they had improvised. He glanced over his menu absentmindedly, as much as he wanted to try something fancy, he didn't think he was dressed fancily enough...

Hotaru shrugged. "Considering my stomach hasn't grown since then, I think it's safe to assume she don't think that anymore." She laughed again. "You being a criminal, though, I'm not so sure of." she thought a little more, trying to think of what else they had told them that day. "She probably thinks you have ADHD though, wouldn't be suprised."
She started looking through the menu around that time, too. Strange, she worked there as a waitress and yet she still didn't know what she preferred on the menu. When asked by customers, she just thought of the first thing that came to mind.

Jack chuckled. "I don't doubt it. I gave her enough of a reason to after all..." He sighed. "The menu either got bigger, or I'm oblivious." He said after a moment's pause.

"Now that I think about it..." Hotaru began. "I think they did add some stuff to the menu awhile back..." she tried looking around in it for something that sounded good at the moment.
"Aha!" she exclaimed quietly so not to disturb other customers. "I think I found what I'm getting." she laughed. "Grilled chicken sounds like heaven now that I think about it."

Jack mulled over his choice for a bit before giving up. "Alright, I'm going to decide this the old fashioned way." He said. The brunette shut his eyes and spun the menu on the table, he waited a moment before sending a finger down onto the spinning menu and stopped it mid-rotation. Jack opened his eyes and glanced at his selection. Ribs. Perfect. "I'll have these!" He announced happily.

Hotaru giggled at Jack's method of chosing. "Then i guess we're good." she said, looking around for the waiter that had greeted them when they first walked in. She waved him over when she finally saw him. "Riley, over here!" she called, followed by the man walking over to take their orders.

The waiter (fortunately wary of the brunette Ookami) scuttled over and smiled at Hotaru. He seemed to be trying to avoid eye-contact with Jack, who frowned. He hated to be ignored, especially at restaurants because then you got stuck in restaurant limbo.
"What can I get you then?" He asked, finally looking over to Jack. The Ookami was ALMOST disappointed that he wouldn't have to get the waiter's attention. Almost.
"An order of ribs, a root beer, and a side of fries please?" He requested, giving a smile. Riley seemed relieved by the normality and turned back to Hotaru.

Hotaru Closed her menu and handed it to Riley as she gave him her order. "Just the grilled chicken breast and a Dr. Pepper, please." she said, getting a nod in return.
"You got it." he replied. "I'll be back soon with your drinks." he then said before walking off.
Hotaru laughed. "Sorry 'bout him." she muttered in case her co worker could still hear them. "Riley's one of the more... paranoid people working here. That was him in a surprisingly calm mood." she explained to Jack.

"Figures that we'd get the suspicious type, it seems to be a reoccurring theme..." Jack mused as he watched the waiter's retreating form enter the kitchen. "I'm surprised we beat the dinner rush," He said, turning his gaze upon the free tables. On any given night the Wok could be cramped with tons of customers that faded after about an hour and a half. After that and before it it was fairly barren...

Hotaru nodded. "Yeah, those nights are torture." she sighed. "Especially when you get rude little kids with no respect and don't know how to tip as customers." She had been unfortunate to get a few tables with such customers a few times. It took all she could not to do something to their food as payback.

Jack winced. "That's just gotta suck. I'd sympathize but I've never worked in a restaurant." However, he never messed with waiters or waitresses without making a good tip. "But they've got to be idiots, you don't mess with the people who handle your food, it's just a rule." Or if it wasn't, it should have been.

Hotaru nodded. "Exactly!" she agreed completely. "If only everyone knew that rule, we'd all be happier." she grinned.
"But..." she trailed off, noticing one waiter not too far off. "Some of them do deserve it though." she pointed to the waiter(without being obvious of course). He was a little on the chubby side with a bald head, and had to be in his late thirties or fourties. "That's Ray, he's probably the rudest guy that works here, no one likes him." she frowned. The guy was always in a bad mood, he never liked anyone, even when they were being nice to him.
