Jack grabbed the check and paid, putting it and a tip back down on the table. "Sounds like a plan to me." He grinned, standing up and holding out a hand for Hotaru.

The Tora stood up and took his hand, making their way to where the crowd was. She could feel herself getting a little anxious to see what was attracting so much attention. "I wonder what's going on..." she trailed off in thought just before they reached the crowd.

Jack peeked over the shoulders of the crowd. "I'm not quite sure, but I see fire." He peered a little closer and there appeared to be a pair of teenage girls spinning balls of fire on chains and doing tricks. "Yeah, definitely fire."

Hotaru blinked. "F- fire, huh?" she asked, slightly uneasy. "Cool, l- let's watch." she muttered, still a little uncomfortable. Of course as her nickname showed, fire had played a big part in her life for obvious reasons, but it didn't mean she liked getting too terribly close to it. It was fun to watch, true, but the Tora had learned the hard way that it wasn't the most pleasant thing to be around. In a way, you could say she was traumatized, but there was no way you'd get her to admit it willingly.
To be a little more on the safe side, Hotaru tugged Jack's arm closer to her, keeping a focused eye on the fire balls in front of them.

Jack noted the tug on his arm, and glanced to Hotaru. "We don't have to stay if you don't want to." He said, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. After all, being IN a fire was a lot different from watching one, and a lot more traumatic too. He pulled his arm out of her grasp to wrap it around her in a loose embrace.

"No, no, I wanna stay." replied Hotaru, being the stubborn person she was. Her admitting she was scared or uncomfortable about something was like pulling teeth. "I'm fine." she insisted once again, leaning closer to him when he wrapped his arm around her.

Jack decided to concede for the moment. "Alright, if you're sure." He kept Hotaru close while they watched the show. A gap of people appeared in front of them as more people realized that they actually DID need to eat or noticed the young couple behind them. Either way, Jack and Hotaru had been granted a clearer view of the fire-dancers. One had passed the chains on for what looked like a hula hoop with fire lit on spikes jutting out from it.

Hotaru tried relaxing as the show continued, only somewhat managing to do so. It was a lot easier to do so with Jack being there, but she was still a little paranoid. After a little while of watching, however, she did lighten up more and more. It was easier to calm down when she was with someone else, especially when that someone else meant the world to her. Suddenly, the fire she was watching in front of her didn't seem so scary anymore.

Jack watched the performance for a good while longer, eventually though, the kerosene ran out and the lighting the balls of fire came to an end. The two teens performing gave a bow and Jack clapped along with the rest of the crowd, they had done a great job and he was pretty sure that Hotaru had enjoyed it too after the initial unease.

Hotaru clapped along with the crowd when the performance had ended, a more natural smile on her face. "That was actually pretty cool!" she told Jack, laughing a little.

Jack nodded. "Fire's not bad ALL the time." He said. Personally, he loved it. It was warm and full of energy. He had thought of it like a puppy when he was little. He glanced at his watch. "Think we might need to get going though..."

Hotaru shrugged. "It just.... makes me nervous when people throw it around like nothin'..." she muttered childishly. She suddenly pouted slightly when Jack mentioned leaving. She didn't want to go home just yet. "M'kay." she said, not all that thrilled.

"The way I figure, they gotta know what they're doing if they can do what they do." He laughed at how childish Hotaru acted, he simply couldn't help it. "And it's not like we have to get you back home at a specific time or anything..." He gave a shrug, letting Hotaru come to her own conclusions.

Hotaru's eyes lit up a little. "Yay!" she exclaimed, hugging Jack. She paused after a moment. "... I feel like I'm five..." she trailed off, tilting her head a little. This sort of mood was... different for the usually somewhat mature Tora.

"This is a bad thing?" Jack asked, mirth in his voice. "So where do you want to go?" There was an entire city laid out for them and Jack was high on life. Anything could and would happen.
