"It's okay." she assured him. "You're still a hero in my book." she smiled, patting his shoulder.
Hotaru sat down at the table, greeted with a delicious plate of chicken breast waiting on her. She thanked their waiter as he went on his way. "Finally!" she exclaimed, somewhat quietly. She didn't want to disturb any of the other customersw anymore than they had already.

Jack grinned. "Glad to hear it." He then focused on the the delicious looking ribs, glad to see that they weren't completely dripping with barbecue sauce. It'd be hard to keep his mental promise if they had been. Carefully, the Ookami began gnawing at the meat. It was surprisingly good, but then again, Jack had never met a rib he didn't like.

Hotaru, being slightly more mature about her food, took a knife and fork and cut one piece off at a time as she ate the chicken in front of her. This had to be one of the best she had eaten in a while.
She stopped for a moment and took a drink. "Taste good I'm guessing?" she asked Jack.

Jack gave a nod and swallowed his mouthful. "It's that obvious?" He asked, wiping his hand free of sauce on the napkin before taking a drink of rootbeer. "What about the chicken?"

Hotaru nodded a little. "It's great!" she beamed childishly. "Makes me feel like a hypocrite though. Don't eat here enough to deserve working here." she laughed a little before taking another bite.

Jack laughed. "Sure you do, it's just... uh..." He blinked. "I need more food before I can make a sensible analogy..." With that he took another bite of the ribs.

Hotaru tried not to laugh, since she had a mouthful of food she was still trying to chew. It didn't take her long to finish, though. While it was tasted amazing, there wasn't much of it, or at least not enough to fully satisfy the Tora. She shrugged to herself, it would just have to do. She pushed her plate to the side and took another drink of her Dr. Pepper.
A thought struck her suddenly when she realized she hadn't seen her brother in a few days. "Hey, have you seen my brother around at headquarters or anything?" she asked Jack, a little worried. Last time she talked to Matsuda, he wasn't in the best of moods. It more than likely had to do with the fact that Keisko hadn't been around lately.

Jack blinked and shook his head as he passed the halfway mark on the rack of ribs. "I haven't. Are you worried about him or something?" He tilted his head out of habit. "I'm pretty sure he can take care of himself, whatever it is." He wasn't sure what it was he was having to take care of though...

Hotaru frowned. "I'm not so sure." she told him. "He hasn't heard from Keisko in a while, no one has, actually. I don't even think that little girl she's taking care of knows where she is, either." Matsuda had said her name was Madoka, right? "He's really worried, and he hasn't been himself lately."
She was silent for a moment. "How would you feel if I just vanished out of nowhere?" she asked Jack to prove a point.

Jack stopped and listened to the problem, wincing when Hotaru made the comparison. THAT brought it into perspective. Jack thought for a moment. "Well, Keis's plans would probably have been filed with the hospital, if she was taking time off they would know and that would get rid of any kidnapping suspicion..." Keisko had seemed tough enough, and she didn't seem to have any enemies either.
"If she was outside of the city, the government would try and drag her back, but if she's still in the city, it should be easy enough for us to find her..." Then again, some people were separated for years, thinking that their friends were dead. "Which all boils down to asking the hospital, getting info from city hall, and then searching the old fashioned way if those two yield nothing..."

Hotaru thought about it. "Yeah, I guess you're right." she said, leaving it at that and trying to push the thought aside. She wanted to help Matsuda, but sitting there just worrying about the whole thing wouldn't really solve anything.

Jack smiled. "If she's around, we'll find her." He had absolutely no doubt in this reassurance, and he moved to finish off the ribs with deadly focus.

Hotaru smiled. "Yeah, guess so." she agreed, deciding to wait a while for Jack to finish eating. She took another drink of her soda, looking around the resturant. Some customers were coming and going, but it didn't look crowded or empty.

Jack polished off the last of his ribs and wiped off his hands. Ribs had been and always would be finger food, and messy no matter how hard you tried. It was only after a sip of rootbeer that the Ookami noticed something going on outside. "Hey, Ru-ru," He asked, glad that there wasn't anyone within earshot at the moment. "What do you think's going on?" He pointed to the front of the building, a crowd seemed to be forming. Around what, it was impossible to tell.

Hotaru turned to the direction Jack was pointing. "Hmm... Not sure." she said, looking over to where the crowd was. "Wanna go check it out?" she suggested, looking back at him a few moments later. Whatever it was, she was beginning to get a little curious.
