Kage stood outside the theater, browsing the selection of titles that were playing for the late afternoon/early evening. He noticed several continuations of different series', both old and new - the newest Terminator (honestly, the giant Tora would have thought they could win a war by now), as well as the infamous Batman XIII. Kage wouldn't decide just yet what to see. After all, he was waiting for someonw...

Tekka had seriously only poked her head in her house and the base and then bolted and fled respectively. Her eldest brother was angry (no doubt at something Jack did, but in a blind rage he took his anger out on anyone) and the Headquarters was in one of its moods of 'Good, you're here, start training!'
Simply put, it was a relief to be young enough to slip out the back entrances and air-ducts (respectively). She checked her watch, the hour was almost up, time to find Kage. In theory, this wasn't hard, the guy was a giant after all, but reality had made the theaters crowded that day, so the plan went a little awry.
Luckily, she managed to spot him by the movie listings. Tekka gave a holler, "Heya Kage!" She waved as she rushed over, never-ending smile clear on her face. A red-and-black checkered fedora was on her head instead of the baseball cap from the forest, but other than that she had remained unchanged.

"Hey there!" Kage called back, smiling at his friend. Every time he'd seen her, she had picked some of the most interesting outfits. The giant looked briefly down at the fedora and gave a thumbs-up. "Nice hat," Kage said genially. "So, anything in particular you were wanting to see?"

Tekka skidded to a halt by her friend and peered at the movies. It appeared the Batman failure was still in theaters, as well as another Terminator movie. She shook her head, "Nothing was on my mind, you see anything that looked good?" She scanned the other movies absentmindedly.

Kage looked down the lists warily, looking for something he'd actually pay to see. None of the rehashed series interested him at the moment, but one of the logos caught his eye. He tapped Tekka's shoulder and pointed at the selection. "Team I..." he read. "It's another superhero flick, it looks like. What do you think?" Of course, the giant had enough money left over for two tickets, so they'd have to make it count. At least Kage had the snack part covered.

Tekka looked at the movie and nodded. "Sounds better than what this place usually plays, let's go." She grabbed him by the wrist and attempted to tug him towards the ticket booth, subtly passing a few bills to the booth-worker for him to take off of the ticket price. She wasn't about to make Kage pay for everything, not after she mooched off his lunch. She had SOME sense of honor... and pride, but that was playing a much smaller role.

Kage's mind filled with amusement as Tekka tried to pull him along. It wasn't hard to tell that she was a leader, and the giant admired that a lot. He followed dutifully. "Two for 'Team I: Genesis', please," he stated as they approached the booth. The teenager in charge handed him the tickets, and Kage acted the part of the ignorant big guy when his friend sneakily paid for most of the fare. Along with her leadership qualities, Tekka had an unmistakable air of loyalty when it came to her friends, and the giant wasn't about to hurt her by treating her like a conventional lady, or worse - like a child. As they walked into the theater where the previews were just starting, Kage gently pulled Tekka toward a pair of seats in the middle of the theater. The wanderer used to like to sit in the back because the angle of the projector was better, but he was a much bigger person than he used to be.

Tekka hunkered down into her seat, noting that for once the floors were free of soda and that the seats were actually cozy. Must have done a few renovations or something. The previews were stretching on for awhile, the little Tora was beginning to get restless. She was excited to see the movie, but why did there have to be so many advertisements for things that would be 'coming this fall.' Couldn't she wait until then to look at the ads?
The theater didn't seem to think so, still, 'Horror Man III' looked twice as gory as its two prequels, with about half as much plot. Tekka rolled her eyes, she certainly hoped that the good feeling from the board was right and Team I would be a good movie.

Kage watched lazily as the ads assaulted his well-guarded mind with their brain-rotting propoganda. Honestly, he didn't know how on Earth these monstrosities kept being made. Still, the larger of the two Toras had a good vibe about this film, so he was glad when the credits began to roll. Kage produced the bag of treats from within his jacket and discreetly set it between himself and Tekka. He was the type who needed to be doing something other than watching the movie to pay attention (and stay awake), and he figured his vertically-challenged friend might be the same way. As the names of actors, writers, and directors occupied the screen, the background portrayed a dim and trashy city. The streets were clogged with all manner of debris, from broken-down cars to giant chunks of wall and God knew what else from different edifices. Kage jumped mentally when the people of that world became visible - horrible, animalistic mutants with cruel features and savage postures. He looked down at Tekka to see her reaction to the wasteland the film was showing them.

Tekka was grinning widely, the opening was certainly promising. There was neither a busty blond nor a smokey crime scene anywhere. Just ruins and mutants, not a gun toting hero in sight. She was liking this more and more, and began nibbling on one of the snacks while her eyes remained glued to the screen, waiting to see where the scene would go. The music wasn't too dramatic, but it certainly wasn't the music you would find while watching, say, a movie about happy woodland animals roasting marshmallows.
'Actually,' Tekka thought to herself, 'That would do really poorly at the box office. Not a single ticket sold.'
Those poor, poor marshmallow eating animals.

Kage briefly noted the invisible adhesive connecting Tekka's eyes with the grim scene before them. The graphics were truly something to behold - the red lighting actually seemed natural, and the mutants were portrayed by very well-disguised actors. The depiction of ruin and everyday terror settled a bit as the screen zoomed in on a skyscraper that still looked (mostly) intact. The giant began to think that perhaps someone lived there, when the building exploded into a towering inferno. It was then that Kage was able to admire the wonders of modern sound effects. From amidst the flames materialized three hazy figures. One of them was somewhat discernible as being a woman through the smoke, but the other two were quite ambiguous. The being in the center was very tall, with shoulders that could have been massive devil's horns, if they had been placed on the creature's head. The other thing simply looked like some sort of wavering blob, but it seemed to hold a form that stayed at a height that was about three inches taller than the woman.

Considering that the building had been engulfed in fire and the three beings (more mutants most likely) were unaffected, these were probably the villains of the movie. A trio of baddies to divvy up power and cover each others weaknesses. But most movies typically had only heroes in teams (the ones she had seen anyway, which were few movies considering how many of them weren't worth the high budgets used to make them) and the bad guys typically worked alone.
Still, a TEAM of supervillains would be much more effective than just one villain with cronies. Though the movie would clear it all up in due time, Tekka was sure.

"Gosh Xion this movie sucks can we go home" moaned Mel who was now trying to pick up popcorn to chuck despite her physical state "Shh it's getting to the best bit" she said swatting her and stuffing some more popcorn into her mouth as the building caught on fire "DID YOU SEE THAT?" she yelled and then evryone turned around and stared at her "sorry" she muttered as Mel started laughing "Your right I'm glad we stayed" "shut up"

Kage snickered as the people closer to the front caused a minute commotion. Once in a while, such a spectacle of human nature was a show in and of itself. Still, the movie looked too promising for a simple sideshow to steal the giant's attention, and its potential rose even higher when the characters began to speak.
"You said there was a way out in that lab..." the woman coughed, her voice damaged by the smoke. "Are you sure of your sources?" She looked up at the tall creature with the massive shoulders, and the fire caught the sheen of her hair, illuminating it just barely enough to note its blond color. "There are a lot of One Mind labs here, and we haven't found much about Exodus..." The tallest of the three figures (Kage supposed that they were most likely the villains - who else would live in such a crapsack world) turned to the woman, its silhouette revealing that its head was lined with three or four smaller horns that swept backward and ran down the center of its head. The wanderer was again surprised when the thing let out an almost rumbling sound that resembled laughter.
"No one lies to me..." it said in a voice that had to have required sulfur hexofluoride. "It is possible that we have the wrong location, but we will find the right one."

Tekka grinned, she liked the guy with the horns. Not only that, but it appeared another person she knew was at the showing, Mel looked much better than she had in the crash. It was good to know that the Ookami had recovered well.
She turned her attention back to the scene, noting that the evil laughter was still ringing in the air.
