Tekka nodded. "Yeah, once you do that, I'll tell you about my parents." She held her throat. "My mouth's getting kinda dry from all the talking."
As if on cue, the teen that had taken their orders appeared by their table, arms laden with food. "Your orders, ladies." He announced, doling out the food to its owners. He gave a smile. "Just call if you need anything else or if you want the check."
With that, he disappeared back to wherever it was that food-court employees spent their time. Tekka took a large gulp of water and giggled. "Strange how convenient that was, wasn't it?"

Kairi grinned. "Well, let's hear about your parents, before I start on my little memory loss issues and stuff like that."
Kairi watched him go with amusement, before dramatically sighing. "If I were 5 years older and I didn't like Dante. Which, by the way, is impossible." Kairi shrugged, blushing. "I like Dante too much."
Kairi laughed at Tekka's statement. "That was very convenient." Kairi took a large chomp out of her burger, not realizing how hungry she was.

The blond giggled. "You're head-over-heels, aren't ya?" She held up a hand. "Wait, don't answer that, we wouldn't be here if you weren't." She gave a wink.
Tekka nodded. "Okie-dokie then." She took a bite out of her pizza and scarfed down a handful of fries before starting up again. "As I've said before, my dad's part of the government. He's pretty high up, and that's the only reason he was able to take my brothers out of Ookami." The took a slurp of her milkshake. "He does a lot of stuff there, and I don't know much about what precisely. Just that it's either really dull or really exciting." She shrugged. "He's always trying to show me stuff about my mom since I never got to meet her, and he doesn't really know that I steal things.
"That's probably the biggest secret I've kept from him. I honestly think he'd have a heart attack if he found out." Tekka fiddled with the rim of her fedora and ate a few more fries. "I mean, he always wanted me to become one of those kids you see in the paper for outstanding achievement and whatnot. I guess he's lost that dream since I've gotten into the clans."
"It may sound a little weird, but the barracks seem more friendly than the majority of my house now. It feels like no one really lives at home anymore, and the barracks house a lot of people I know now so..." She trailed off and after a moment, smiled. "Well that's enough of me rambling. It's your turn."

Kairi giggled, and groaned playfully. "I tripped when I met him.....Maybe I really AM head over heels!"
As Kairi listened to Tekka, she had devoured her burger and was draining her milkshake. She popped a few fries into her mouth, and then smiled sadly at Tekka. "Your still an achievement. And no matter what, Kairi is still here!" Kairi pointed at herself with a large, goofy grin.
Kairi blinked, before, with blank eyes, slamming her fist into her hand softly. "I'll spend the night. If your home doesn't feel home, I'll stay the night, so you'll have memories to go back home to."
Kairi took a deep breath. "Where to begin......Let's see......." Nodding to herself, Kairi began. "I was born in Egypt. My parents and I, we, we weren't rich or anything, but we weren't poor either. I remember that Father always smelled like sand and lotus flowers. It was a musky scent, and strong, but I loved it."
Kairi was smiling fondly, and ate a few more french fries before carrying on. "Mother always smelled like spring water and fresh air. I remember, vaguely, that I saw more of Father than Mother. I was given a gift when I was born.....Let's see, it was a Duel Monster......Aha! It was Slifer. He's my favorite card. I've had him forever, it seems." Kairi willed herself not to cry. "The card still smells like Mother and Father."

Tekka grinned. "Yup. Like a virus, you never leave and your clumsiness is spreading to me." She joked, giving a laugh.
Tekka almost choked on her fries at 'Slifer.' "The Sky Dragon? Yugi Moto's card?" She asked. Moments later she laid a hand on her friend's forearm (because it was as far as she could reach) and gave it a reassuring squeeze. Her concern for her best friend outweighed her curiosity for the card.
"Hey, just like you're here for me, I'm here for you." She gave a small smile. "And you're like the big sister I never had. Even if you lost the rest of your family, you've still got me." She smile turned wry. "Though to give you fair warning, that could be more of a curse than a blessing."

Kairi laughed, before she rolled her eyes. "Oh God, let's hope Dante doesn't inherit my, uh, spectacular gymnastic traits."
The sarcasm was literally seeping from her voice. But she laughed at Tekka when she mentioned Slifer. "Yes, the Sky Dragon, not unless you know any other Slifer's!"
Laughing, she finished the rest of her fries, and took a small sip of her drink. "I wish I could tell you if it was Yugi's card or not, but I honestly don't know. I don't know how my parents got a hold of it, or why, but it's in my possession now. I'll show you sometime." She gave Tekka a thank you smile for the comfort. "Before you, that card was my best friend!"
Kairi giggled. "I'm the big sister, yet I act like the youngest." Shaking her head, Kairi sipped her soda. "I swear I have personailty disorder."

Tekka polished off her sausage pizza and half of the cheese before replying. "Well, that's better than me hanging out with Maha Vailo, he's such a dork." She rolled her eyes. "A useful dork, but a dork nonetheless."
Tekka laughed upon hearing of her friend's supposed mental disorder. "Everyone's got some sort of mental disorder, you're only considered crazy if you recognize it." She smirked. "I have come to terms, had tea, and had a rickshaw ride with mine. But I think it can't come to terms with me yet."

Kairi laughed at that. "Yes, Slifer has been my best buddy. I mean, I've argued with that card before! Yes, it's a card, and yes I have yelled at it. But truthfully." Kairi smiled softly, and fiddled with the straw in her half empty container of soda. "I believe in the heart of the cards. Probably more than most. It's just sometimes, I get the feeling that when I talk to that damn card, it's listening."
Kairi grinned at Tekka. "I guess that makes me more than crazy, ne, Sai-chan?"
Giggling, she finished her Soda. "Well, I've got more for you to hear, not much, but still more. Would you like me to finish talking while you finish eating?"

Tekka shook her head. "Not really. There are things in this world that just can't be explained sometimes. For an Egyptian God Card, it's probably not all that weird for him to be listening." She thought for a moment. "You ever wonder if any of those gods are actually 'shes' instead and people were just too lazy to find out?"
Tekka nodded her head in the positive and took another large bite out of her pizza.

Kairi laughed, then thought for a few minutes, before saying, "A God appears in the form most appealing to one's mind......I don't know where I got that from, but I think it suits the conversation."
Nodding, Kairi began again. "My memory is a blank for a few years, but I remember my Aunt picking me up in Egypt and taking me to England." Kairi smiled fondly. "My Aunt had a mansion, from past family inheritances passed down to her. The place was so huge! I remember getting lost, and falling off balcony's and things like that.
"My Aunt was different from both my Mother and Father, though she was on my Mother's side, my Mother's sister." Kairi seemed to daze slightly. "She was a little rougher with me, but even though others told me she was hateful and cruel, I thought she was kind and loving. She was just lonely. Her husband died a long time ago, and she hadn't had contact with the last of the family, me, my Mother, and my Father, since."
Kairi snapped out of her daze, and looked at the smaller growing numbers of people. "But she still came all the way to Egypt to take me in, and care for me. She was kind, and she loved me. I don't care what anyone said." Kairi shuddered. "I didn't like the etiquette lessons, or any of the other fancy things my Aunt tried to impose in my life. I like my life simple. I can understand it better."
Kairi's face grew sad again. "2 years ago, I left my Aunt's, and came here, to Japan. Sometimes, I wish I would have stayed. A few weeks after I arrived, a letter came in the mail for me, from England. It was Richard, my Aunt's butler, who was like an older brother to me, writing to tell me that she had died."
Kairi shook her head. "He never said how, I never asked. I still write him every now and then. The mansion doesn't have a owner because no one found a will. And if they do, Richard told me they won't let me have the mansion anyway because of some stupid reasons I don't care to remember."
Kairi smiled and leaned over to ruffle Tekka's hair. "There's a lot more about me that I don't even know. But when I find out, I'll tell you. It's an adventure I don't want to miss."

The short teen chuckled. "That sounds like you. Especially the falling part."
Tekka nodded. "A simple life is way easier to understand. I'd probably die if I had to take..." She shuddered. "Etiquette courses..."
She frowned sadly at hearing about the aunt's death. Quite frankly that sucked. Leaving and then hearing that a family member died had to be the worst, you must feel like if you had stayed then you could have prevented it somehow. But that was hardly ever how things worked out.
Tekka nodded and giggled at the hair ruffling. "You'd better tell me, I'm far enough out of the loop as-is." She smiled. "I get any farther away and I'll become a hermit in Hawaii!"

Kairi nodded happily. "Mmhmm! And Richard was always the one trying to catch me." Kairi sheepishly smiled. "Sometimes, I would jump just to see if he would catch me.....And he did."
Kairi shuddered again. "They were horrible! Too many rules to eating, to walking, to being a." Kairi got a snobby voice. "Lady."
Kairi stuck a finger in the air excitedly. "I almost forgot! It was my Aunt who taught me the 'London Bridges' song. My Mother used to sing it to me as a baby, but it was my Aunt who really taught it to me." Kairi smiled fondly. "My Aunt was a busy woman, and I can only remember that she would take time out of her night just to sing me that song."
Kairi laughed. "I'm as far away from my past as you! I'm a freakin Eskimo hermit in Antarctica!"

Tekka grinned. "Isn't it dreadful when society feels that all girls must be ladies to talk in posh British accents and never swear?" This was all said in a jokingly posh British accent.
The blond teen finished off the last of her milkshake and smiled. "Your aunt sounds like she was nice." Tekka rubbed the back of her neck. "Wish I had relatives like that, my parents were both only childs, so I really don't have cousins or aunts or uncles." She held up a finger. "On the plus side, no dressing up for family reunions."
Tekka gaped and squealed happily. "Omigosh! You're near penguins! Penguins!!"

Kairi laughed. "Well, I do have a British accent, but I swear like a sailor! If my instructor heard me these days....." Kairi only shuddered. "I'd probably be dead."
Kairi nodded fondly. "She was. She didn't really like to show it to people, and she hated it when people mentioned it, because she liked to keep up the appearance that she wasn't nice....But she was." Kairi laughed. "Well, if I had some family left, I'm sure I'd hate it too!"
Kairi squealed happily. "I know! I love penguins! They are so cute!"

Tekka smiled happily. "They look like they're wearing little tuxedos and the waddle!" She giggled. "I can't figure out why I love them so much."
She looked at the crowds all moving to the upper levels of the mall. "Hey," She pointed. "Kai-chan, look at that. Everyone's heading up, think there's something going on?" It couldn't be because they were all leaving, the exits were all on the first floor. There had to be something catching people's attention.
