Kairi laughed as she led Tekka inside. "We are so going to gain at least ten pounds today."
Unlike most fast food courts, Kairi could already tell this little food court had a friendly atmosphere, and though it was half empty, the court radiated jovial vibes.
Smiling, Kairi led her friend to a table where they could look over and easily see the people in the mall. Kairi found it interesting to watch people, and as Tekka and she sat down, she decided to mention it. "People are so much alike, but so different."
Before Tekka could comment, a teenager came over and asked for their orders. Kairi gave hers first. "Yep! Busy day huh?" Kairi gestured sarcastically at the empty food court, which brought a smile to the teenagers face. "I'd like a double cheeseburger, a small coke, or pepsi, either one is fine. I want a small vanilla shake, with a small order of fries."
Kairi's grin was huge, even though she knew she was going to fat. She couldn't help it. She loved food. Besides, she had a VERY fast metabolism, so she didn't get fat anyway. Turning to Tekka, she waited for her friend to order.

Tekka grinned with her friend and sat down, nodding at the statement. "Yeah, I guess you're right." She wished she could add on something vaguely philosophical to that statement but her mind was drawing blanks. "Wish people could see what was the same instead of looking at the differences." She blinked. "Huh, that came out better than I thought it would..."
Tekka listened to her friend order with amusement, clearly there was no point in going easy on food here. The teen turned to Tekka for her order. Tekka looked at the menu hanging above them. "Lets see, I'll get a chocolate shake, a water, a large order of fries, a slice of cheese pizza and a slice of sausage pizza."
She smiled innocently at the server as he gave a small chuckle, wrote down their orders, and told them it'd all be out shortly. He disappeared to get the food and Tekka and Kairi were left to their table.
"So what do you think we should do after we eat?" She asked, swinging her legs.

Kairi laughed. "I agree." She was smiling widely and looking at all the bustling people. "Our hearts all the same, aren't they? We all have a heart, whether we use it or not, whether it's kind or guarded, it's still there, even if we refuse to believe it. We're so different on the outside, but on the inside? We're all the same."
Kairi's smile stayed the same as she turned to Tekka. "That's why I will never be able to relate to War. We fight each other because of differences that don't matter. And it's not just us, as Clans, it's the world. People, in general, will always fight, whether it be War, or a simple exchange of words. But it's all done for wrong reasons."
She would have kept going, but decided not to. After all, she didn't want Tekka to get bored by listening to Kairi ramble. And she still needed to answer Tekka's question about what they were going to do after they ate. "Well, why don't we just sit here and talk for a while, since we don't have too long to wait anyway."

Tekka nodded. "Sounds good, so any particular topic or will we lapse back into that 'who will beat who in a fight' thing from the school?" She smirked. "Cause if that's the case, James Bond or Jack Sparrow?"

Kairi had to laugh at her friend's optimistic attitude, and thought to herself. "My bet is on James Bond, because I don't like Jack Sparrow. He's creepy."
Kairi shivered playfully. "He's just one weird dude." She giggled. "I like pirates, but not him."

Tekka nodded. "Definitely Bond, I have to say my alter ego could kick Sparrow's pirate butt into next week." She pondered for a moment. "Jack makes me laugh though."
There was a shrug before the next topic came up. "Alright, that Jigsaw guy from the Saw movies or twelve year old Harry Potter?"

Kairi shuddered. "Definitely the Saw guy! I mean, yeah, Harry's got magic, but still!"
Sighing, Kairi looked up at the ceiling of the food court. "I wish I could do some magic......But with how clumsy I am, I'd probably end up turning myself into a frog!"

"I totally agree, and I've never even SEEN Saw... see-saw..." She laughed. "That's fun to say. Seen Saw, see Saw, saw Saw. Such a multiple of phrases!"
Listening to Kairi Tekka shook her head. "You'd get turned into a newt, they're way cooler. Anyway, next pick?"

Kairi laughed out loud. "Neither have I! But I know that guy is scary!"
Kairi snorted playfully. "Newt, frog, whatever." Kairi lifted her head back in thought. "How about......Simba from the Lion King and Peter Pan?"
Okay, Kairi had no idea where that had come from, but it was thrown out there now.

Tekka rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "Hmm... Peter Pan. He can fly and he's got Tinkerbell, and she kicks ass." She laughed. "But where did that one come from? We went from the Saw franchise to Disney movies in under seven seconds!" She giggled and awaited a response from her friend.

Kairi laughed. "We all know who holds the reins in THAT relationship."
Shrugging, Kairi rubbed the back of her head. "I have no idea! It was the first thing that popped into my mind."
Cocking her head, Kairi looked at Tekka questioningly. "Hey Sai-chan.......what's your family like?" Kairi blushed, and waved her hands frantically about. "I don't mean to be nosy, it's just, I just wanted to know what your family was like. What are your brothers like? And your dad? And what was your mom like? Do you remember what she was like?"
Kairi was honestly curious. Kairi wasn't sure she should be asking such personal questions, but Tekka was her best friend, and she just wanted to know more about her.

Tekka gave a laugh and waved her hands. "It's fine, you're not being nosy." She placed her arms back onto the table. "Well, where to start..." She propped her head up with a hand. "I guess I'll start with Jack. He's my favorite brother after all."
She leaned back in the chair. "Jack's eighteen and he works with the government now. Just low-rank grunt work and a lot of numbers are involved. He doesn't really like those numbers much, math was his worst subject back in school." She smiled fondly at the memory. "I remember he would always try to trick either dad or Aiden into doing it for him, and every time he pulled it he got the same rant about how,"
She raised a fist and spoke in a man-voice. "'diligence and hard work pay off in the end!' and stuff." She scratched the back of her head and closed her eyes, giggling. "I always laughed when those things came up."

Kairi smiled widely at the favorite brother comment. "Your favorite huh?" Kairi couldn't help but let out a giggle.
Kairi nodded, and then laughed. "I feel his pain! I don't like math either. I'm more into English and History." Kairi blushed. "I love to write poems, and stories, and things like that. And I do love the past."
Kairi cleared her voice, and pulled off her own manly voice saying, "'I'm going to make a man out of you!' and all that, right?"
Kairi giggled. "Sounds about right. What else? What about your other brother? And let's hear more about your father too!"
Smiling shyly, Kairi gave her best friend a sheepish smile. "I'll tell you what I know about my past when your finished. A fair trade, since I don't know much?"

Tekka smiled. "That sounds fair. But I almost forgot!" She raised one finger. "Jack says that he's gonna try to find a way to get back into the clans, he told me last time I visited home that there was a flaw in the system and if he could exploit it he could get back into the Clans." She grinned. "I don't blame him much, that desk job has to be as boring as hell, and if we end up dueling each other, I doubt that it'll really escalate."
She nodded. "So onto Aiden. Twenty, an avid reader, likes candlelit dinners, long walks on the beach, single-" She stopped. "Wait, my bad, wrong information, let me try again." She giggled and started over. "Aiden was always the best at sports. Soccer was his favorite and he played saxophone, he and Jack always joked about making a jazz band if I ever learned to play base 'cause Jack was really good on the piano."
Tekka scratched her cheek. "Of course, I can't keep time to save my life, so that never really took off. Aiden was also the one who saved my butt whenever I got into trouble, he never really approved of me stealing things but he made sure that I never went too far." She kicked her legs. "I guess he was the biggest influence on my conscience. He found about the bug in the system through Jack but I don't think he wants to come back to the war. He's trying to reason with the government on the inside, so it's all good."

Kairi grinned and then laughed. "If he gets back into the Clans, I want to meet him. And yeah, desk jobs can't be any fun."
Kairi gave Tekka a confused look about the information she was receiving, but ended up laughing. "What kind of information are you giving me?" Smiling, Kairi listened. "I love the piano as well. It's my favorite instrument."
Kairi smiled softly and leaned over to ruffle Tekka's hair. "Then I guess now it's my job to make sure you don't get in trouble."
Smiling shyly, Kairi shrugged. "My turn now, then, ne?"
