Caitlyn looked up the stairs and sighed. She thought that Rex was a bit alarmist to mention such horrible fates for Teddy, but it would be wrong to just leave him behind. So, she followed Rex up the stairs, looking around to see if she could find where they had left the poor drunk kid.
She shook her head, feeling bad for him. Clearly, he had been left behind by whoever he came with, if he was wandering over to two random people. Besides, he didn't look old enough to be drinking, not nearly.

As soon as the two girls got back from the dance floor, Teddy managed to find them - saving them a bit of time from walking over to the table. However he was not as well kept as he was when he first met them. His hair was a mess - sweat or water flattening it down in an unflattering way, and his shirt was untucked and all over the place. Worst off, there seemed to be a newly acquired stain on his argyle shirt that radiated a pungent smell. There was also a cut over his eyebrow that was still dripping blood down the side of his head. But probably the most striking thing were tears that were streaming endlessly from his eyes that were accompanied by choking sobs. If the music didn't drown it out so, he would caused quite a bit of attention.
Caitlyn's face rang a bell of recognition in Teddy's mind as he rushed over to her and wrapped his arms around her. He started speaking into her shoulder, but only muffled noise was coming out. After a few beats of his forced embrace he lifted his head to talk in her ear. "I can't find him... I don't know how to get home!" he cried through his sobs. "I wanna go, I wanna go home. There's a man chasing me..." he tried explaining his story to Caitlyn, but his thoughts did not come out coherently. Teddy was in a panic and a daze - he had no idea where Rio went, and he knew the bartender was looking for him, yelling and screaming at Teddy. He was afraid, a bit confused, and he wasn't showing any signs that he was going to release Caitlyn from his grasp any time soon.

Before the young ladies could make either heads or tails of the situation, it seemed Teddy had ended up finding them. Rather fortunate, as he saved them the trouble of traversing the difficult dance floor and heading up the stairs, but unluckily the man was in a panicked state of mind.
"Teddy! Settle down!" Rex yelled, attempting to get the lad to calm down, forgetting that it's a rather poor idea to get someone to calm down by yelling at them. Nevertheless, it seemed Rex was already rather worried, but she seemed to recognize that having all three of them in a panicking mood would end up as being ridiculously useless.
"Just... breathe!" she said, though it wasn't evident who she was talking to.

Caitlyn realized very quickly that panicking would get her nowhere. Besides, having Teddy cling to her, sobbing, activated the perhaps oversensitive maternal instincts she had. She almost automatically hugged him, stroking his hair in a comforting manner. "Shh, it's okay, calm down and try telling up again," she said, her voice low and comforting. She had gotten part of his meaning, but not enough of it for her to really do anything.
She didn't take time to care that he was a mess. Even if she did, it would have only made her more concerned for him.

Teddy found Caitlyn very soothing; he began to lose some of his tension despite Rex's yelling. Though Rex did catch Teddy's attention and he briefly tilted his head to glance at him. Another bell run quietly in his head as he too vaguely recognized Rex's face too. Being around familiar faces, even if they were only familiar as of a few hours ago, made Teddy feel safer, and he looked back to Caitlyn to explain himself a bit more clearly. But only a bit.
"I'm sorry, he choked through fading tears, "I didn't mean too, I-" he paused, however the scent of vodka on his breath was fused with a foul tinge of bile. He clearly went over his limit, which of course was strictly not allowed in public drinking areas, and was no doubt about to be kicked out. "I want to leave..." He looked lost to Caitlyn, as if he didn't know how to leave by himself. The tears sat in his eyes for a while, sparkling, and enhancing his boyish appearance.

Caitlyn flinched a little as she smelled his breath. She wasn't a drinker herself, but it was still easy for her to tell that Teddy was way over the limit. Besides, she was fairly certain that he was not of an age to be drinking. Not that she was going to judge, especially since she was in "comforting" mode.
"It's okay," she said, her voice still soft and soothing. She was still stroking his hair as well. Though it might seem odd for her to "mother" someone she was fairly certain was older than her, Teddy's boyish looks and voice certainly made it easier. "I think you really sohuld leave," she told him, "especially if there's someone looking to throw you out. Did you come by yourself?" She hoped not, because she wasn't sure if she could get him home without help.

Rex looked the inebriated gentleman over. "Hmm, if he's a wanted man then perhaps it'd be best we not get involved." muttered Rex. Sure, she always strove to be a gentleman, however there were still some limits to her patience. After all, she couldn't be a gentlemanly figure to those who barely acted like a gentleman at all, and drinking himself into a drunken stupor and sobbing hysterically onto strangers didn't seem to be a respectable position. In short, Rex was probably one of the least maternal people you'd ever meet.
"It's been a lovely evening Miss Masters, we simply must do it again." she spoke the sentence with a rather... bland tinge of emotion, so much so one may have wondered if she were being sarcastic or not. She'd have probably reached in for a heartwarming hug, but noting how she currently had her hands filled with Teddy she thought against it. "I think it's about time I called it a night. If you still need me, I'll be walking towards the clan headquarters."
Rex slowly walked down the stairs, half hoping Caitlyn would wish to come along with her.

Caitlyn looked briefly torn. She wanted to go back with Rex, but at the same time, she was concerned about Teddy...Then, she bit her lip. He really wasn't her responsibility, and walking back to HQ alone, at night, as a girl was not something she wanted to try. Ever. So, she slowly disentangled herself from Teddy's arms.
"Stay here, hopefully whoever you came with will find you," she said. She turned around and jogged to catch up with Rex.
"Wait, please, can I walk with you?" She asked, looking worried. She felt bad about leaving Teddy behind, but she would feel much worse walking home alone.

The Winchester family had thrown their lovely little débutante a ball, a final celebration on her thirteenth birthday before she began her first day as a member of the clan.
Alas, the last thing young Princess Lauren Winchester wanted was to shine in the spotlight at her parents insisted. She spoke to them at a length countless times about this, but they always seemed to ignore her wishes, or attempt to justify themselves. Sure, they claimed it was all for her best interest, a party for young Lauren, however, she knew it was more for them to show her off, and in Lauren's own opinion, she was perfectly fine not being fussed with.
They invited all of their own friends, and those friends brought along their useless childrens, whom she never quite managed to quite get along with yet her parents decreed were her own friends.
The boys all treated her like she was a tiny porcelain doll who'd break at only the slightest of gestures, and the girls all perfered to speak in nothing nowadays except nylons and lipstick and invitations.
There was just about one person who she could bother to stand, and that was her dance instructor. In the rather opulent banquet hall her parents had rented out for her 13th birthday party, she ignored all the gentlemen who made remarks about how lovely she was, and ignored all the young women who spoke of admiring her dress and shoes and hurried to see the plainly dressed young dance instructor, the only one who ever seemed to treat her as though she were more then a little doll.
"Wait! Please, can I dance with you?"
Rex seemed to snap out of her little day dream at Caitlyn's words. "Huh?" it took a split second for the words to register with Rex. "Oh, so you decided to come along after all." A nervous smile, hoping she hadn't pressured or put too much guilt upon Caitlyn.
"Are you sure you're fine with leaving Teddy all alone? I don't want you to regret coming with me..."

Caitlyn noticed Rex apparently being lost in his reverie, and she waited until he turned back to her. "Yeah, i did," she said, shrugging. "He should be okay on his own," she said.
"Rex, I have a feeling that I would regret trying to get back alone more." She made a face. "In case you didn't notice, this isn't the best part of town. Not as dangerous as Ookami territory, but I still wouldn't be caught out here alone at night."
