Rex seemed confused, not really sure what kind of music this was, nor even how she should have been dancing.
All she could think of was herself at 12 years old, leading the young gentleman and they both danced. Hand on Caitlyn's hip, right hand interlocked with hers, he slowly moved his feet and legs, not at all in time or rhythm to the song it played, rather to her own little beat she kept in her mind.

Caitlyn was surprised as Rex began to lead her in a waltz, which was very muh different from whatt he rest of the dancers were doing. However, it was easy for her to follow him. The woman who had taught her Tarot reading had insisted on her learning a variety of other skills, including ballroom dance.

Rex seemed not at all bothered at the other people giving her and Caitlyn awkward stares. After all, they were the ones who practically tried to have sex with their clothes on. It should be her who gave them scornful looks. Unfortunately, it would seem her fancy dancing required quite a bit of room, a little more then any couple is typically given at a night club.
Rex tried to step forward, only to find Caitlyn had no where else to move, putting her a little... too close to her. Blushing she instantly took a step back and stopped dancing. "Hmm... it seems my usual methods aren't particularly effective."

Caitlyn caught a few of the stares, and responded with a raised eyebrow and nothing else. Most of the other dancers looked away at that.
When Rex stepped forward, she flushed at finding them so close. For the few seconds that only centimeters separated them, she wondered what it might be like to kiss him...Then, she shook her head as she stepped away. "Yeah, I guess not," she said, laughing nervously.

Due to the awkward pushing into people, Rex was forced to stop dancing with Caitlyn. He before noting she was still in the same 'ballroom dance' starting position. She let go of Caitlyn's hips and hand, putting her hands to the side.
"So... what do we do now? Continue trying to dance this way, dance like..." she shuddered "Like those people, head back and see how Teddy's doing, or head home?"

Caitlyn looked amused as Rex moved his hands away from her hips and hand. She sighed softly as they paused, looking around.
"I dunno, Rex, dancing like that with you might be fun," she said, winking flirtatiously at him. She wasn't all that serious, but she didn't want him to know that yet.

Her cheek reddened, as she recalled Caitlyn's not so subtle words of liking a boy who held doors and pulled out chairs. Did her suggesting of wanting to dance with him like that signify she liked him?
"If you insist..." she said, a pensive gaze in her eyes. She wondered if she accepted, did that mean she was in love with Caitlyn? Of course not! She merely wanted to be a friend to her, her first friend in the Tora Clan... right? Rex may have worn male clothes, out of a desire to be rebellious, and she called herself a male's name, but that didn't mean she liked females in that way.
She was probably over thinking the situation, besides she knew better then to keep a lady waiting. She opened her arms and let Caitlyn get as close as she needed, her face already pink despite nothing of consequence occuring.

Caitlyn walked forward and draped her arms around his shoulders, smirking teasingly. "I should warn you, I like to flirt a little," she said, turning slightly so she could bump her hip against him. She wasn't a tease, not usually, but in the right atmosphere and with a guy like Rex...
She was going to play with him a little, but she wasn't really all that serious about him. Sure, he was sweet, but he didn't have the little bit of...rouge that she liked in a man.

Her face became flushed when she pulled herself closer. She then spoke, giving him a playful warning. "You enjoy flirting? I couldn't tell." a sarcastic reply from her followed by a light chuckle. And in that moment, Rex felt that maybe she could dance with Caitlyn. After all, they developed quite a rapport together, and... so what if Caitlyn had feelings for her?
"You asked Michael out yourself Lauren!? A true young lady NEVER asks a boy out!"
A smug bit of satisfaction, as she felt Caitlyn would probably never act on her feelings, if they at all existed. A wave of relief washed through her.
Maybe it was their little jokes together, but Rex felt much more relaxed when he was with her. Rex swayed her hips and followed the 'music' to the best of her ability, not truly bothered by the fact that Caitlyn was so close to him right now.

Someone had forgotten to teach Caitlyn that a girl never asked a boy out, but under most circumstances she was way too shy to anyway. Besides, as previously stated, Rex had all the gentlemanly characteristics that she thought were cute, but none of the roguishness that she really, truly loved in a man. So few had that perfect combination.
"Really?" Caitlyn replied, her tone joking. "Then I'm glad I warned you before I accidentally broke your heart," she said. Her body swayed along with the music, and by virtue of that and their being so close together, along with Rex's as well.

She continued moving to the beat, trying her best to imitate the other people she spotted. It wasn't as difficult as she originally thought. Caitlyn assured Rex that their was no romantic longing on her end. "Oh thank you for being so considerate. After all I've been through just this week I don't believe my poor heart could take it." she joked, half serious as she was still rather more then a little sore about the whole 'losing her life's work' thing. I assume the pair continued dancing for a while so... let's cut to an X amount of time later?

Caitlyn winked at him as she danced. "I'd like to make you feel better," she said, then paused and blushed as she realized that what she had said could be taken a very bad way. "Um, not like that, though," she said. -X Amount of Time Later- She smiled at him. "Ready to get off the dance floor?" She asked, her voice soft. She was speaking right in his ear, her slim body pressed up against him.

Rex blinked, completely unsure of what Caitlyn meant by 'not like that though'. She shrugged and tried not to overthink it, letting the music and rhythm drive her movements until an x amount of time had passed.
Even though she had no romantic feelings for her in any way shape or form, she had to admit the night was rather fun. She could feel her soft breathe upon her ear, a little surprised at the sudden sound of her voice. Rex always preferred the advice given from The Wife of Bath (from the Canterbury Tales.) "I'm ready if you are." she whispered back.

Caitlyn slid her arms away from Rex's shoulders and gripped his hand. She led him through the crush of bodies and back to the stairs. "Did you leave anything up there?" She asked, whispering in his ear again. Then, she sighed. "Or at the very least, we do have to go up and check on that Teddy boy..." She said.

The girl inquired if she had left anything behind. Rex patted herself down quickly, checking her pockets. She gave a thumbs up with her free left hand, followed by a smile.
"Right..." she had forgotten about Teddy as she spent her time dancing. "It'd be very ungentlemanly to leave him behind like that. We should check up on the poor lad, make sure he hasn't choked on his own tongue or drowned in a pool of nastiness. After all, he was rather inebriated." A part of Rex held a feeling of dread, knowing she'd be feeling unbelievably guilty if something became of that poor boy.
She hurried up the staircase, holding Caitlyn along by the hand as she led her up the stairs.
