Karter strode into the Wok as if he owned the place, fairly certain that the waiters and waitresses thought that he and Theo were twins considering how differently they entered places when in control. But that was alright, much better than the alternative of people actually finding out they were the same body...
He almost didn't hold the door open for the brown-haired Ookami, but at the last moment realized that it would PROBABLY keep her from getting too irritated at him. And considering she was in the same clan as Mikka, and the Russian had a tendency to trust women over men, Karter was sure politeness was the best option at the moment.

A quick thanks was uttered as the Ookami passed by Karter and entered the restaurant. He had been right, it wasn't all that busy. Coustumers were scattered between empty booths and tables, and the air had a relaxed, sluggish feel to it. A hostess smiles and greeted the pair a minute after they walked in; promptly grabbing a pair of menus as she did so.
"Would you prefer a table or booth?" the woman asked. Yukiko only let out an "um" and looked sideways over at Karter. It didn't matter to her at all, but she didn't want to say anything. Despite not being "terrified" of him, the Ookami was still tip-toeing around the situation.

Karter stayed stoic and kept his voice level, if not a bit sharp. "Booth, near a window." It would let him keep an eye out for certain... undesirables that he had seen around but had not yet been able to catch. The hostess led them over to a nearby table with thankfully few people around it and deposited the pair of menus on the table. After informing them that their waitress 'Tammy' would be over shortly she departed to tend to... hostessy things. Karter didn't know and frankly didn't care.

And now came the difficult part... Having something that resembled a conversation. Yukiko's social skills were still in the developing stage, and a situation like this, to her at least, was out of her current range of capabilities. The Ookami hesitated, her large green eyes giving Karter a thorough looking-over. It would probably be easy for someone to think of him and Theo as the same person; they did share a body. However, it was hard for Yukiko to do so. Their mannerism were far too different, along with the way they presented themselves. Theo was sweet and shy, whereas Karter gave off a distinct air of "mess-with-me-and-I'll-play-jump-rope-with-your-small-intestine." or maybe that was just her.
After a long, pregnant pause, the silent girl finally spoke. "I honestly don't know what to say to you at this point," she sighed in defeat.

Karter shrugged. "We're here for food, not conversation. If you don't have anything to say then don't try to say anything." He was fine with listening to other people's conversations, learning bits and pieces about people and how they acted and reacted... Fascinating... "Although, I do have a question for you. How much do you know about Theo? How much have you inferred, I mean, I know what he has and hasn't told you." He rested his forearms on the table and leaned on them to look at the Ookami.

Yukiko glanced off to the side, biting her lip thoughtfully. She took a moment to collect her thoughts before offering a response.
"I know that he came here from Canada, we're almost the same age, he's in Tora, and that he's very shy. He's sweet and gentle though, kind of like a puppy..." She paused before going on. "I know that he seems to run into the wrong kinds of people sometimes, which is what you're for I suppose." Another pause. "And judging by how jumpy he gets sometimes, I'm starting to assume someone used to hurt him somehow... Probably back home since it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue now." Her sharp bottle-green gaze met Karter's evenly. "And you. Now I know about you."

Karter looked at Yuki for a moment longer before he gave her a nod. "Good, for a second I thought you were missing the obvious things, but I'm glad you weren't. Dead on about it all, too..." The alter ego stared into the young woman's eyes, unwavering. "Now, if I were to offer to tell you more about Theo, the things he WON'T tell you...?" He trailed off, leaving the offer hanging there. Yuki was a good companion for Theo, a very good one for certain. Karter was willing to part with a bit of information for her, but only a bit.

It felt a little wrong, like gossiping or something similar, but the feeling was brushed aside. This was a strictly unique situation, so Yukiko had no real guilt about inquiring further.
"I would like to know more about him," the Ookami admitted rather stoically. "There's a lot he hasn't told me... But in all fairness I haven't told him much about myself either." At least not when it came to her past and home life. She had talked about her brothers occasionally, but her parents were seldom mentioned, nor thr years of self-imposed social exile.

Karter nodded. "You have five questions I'll answer with complete honesty, so use them wisely." He said, deciding to let Yuki ask what she was interested in to find out a bit more about the Ookami.

The concept seemed simple enough; the tricky part was choosing the proper questions. There was a lot that the Ookami wanted to know about her friend, but what was most important? Also, there was a line between beig curious and snooping. Yukiko didn't want to dive too deeply into Theo's life. People were entitled to some secrets.
"Why did he leave Canada for this place?" There. That was a good place to start.

Karter gave a wry grin. "That was my doing, really. He wouldn't have gotten the courage to leave if I hadn't taken over and gotten him the first ticket out of that place... But he left because of his father, a drunkard with a bad habit of taking frustration out on his son." Karter pulled the neck of his turtleneck down a bit to show a few fading scars. "Tip of the iceberg here."

The Ookami tried to hide her scowl. She had suspected the presence of violence in Theo's past for quite some time, but that didn't weaken her disgust with it. Understanding how anyone could find satisfaction in hurting such a harmless, big-hearted person was nearly impossible. Yukiko felt a faint need to find the Tora's father and give him a what-for; it was the first time she had truly felt such anger towards any one person.
"Next question..." she murmured after a long pause, finally getting a hold of herself. The Ookami frowned, taking another moment to think. "What happens to Theo when you're in control?" She was kind of hopping around with topics, but it was the first thing that came to mind.

Karter shrugged. "He thinks he blacks out, I sort of push him to the back of our mind. He... he COULD still see things if he wanted to, I suppose." Karter was a little stumped on what happened since he had never been forced back. "I call it putting him to sleep, I can fill him in on things, feed in some slightly altered memories if I really need to..." He frowned, leaning back in his seat with his arms still crossed.

Karter had earlier more or less said he was an imaginary friend that had never gone away, but that seemed hard to believe from what he was saying. Yukiko leaned forward a bit and folded her hands neatly on the table, a thoughtful look passing over her face.
"That only leads me to wonder more about what you are," the Ookami murmured, careful not to put the statement into a question. "People with multiple personality disorder don't usually have a separate persona as developed as you are." She shifted her gaze to her hands with a frown. "The last time I met someone like you two, with a pair of completely independent people in one body, they had been experimented with scientifically, at least from what I was able to tell. I'm assuming that isn't that case with Theo, however."
"So what exactly are you?" It wasn't until after the fact that the Ookami realized this probably counted as her third question.

Karter shrugged, holding his hands palm-up and open to the world. "Fucked if I know that one... I've just been hanging around his head as long as I can remember." He returned to his crossed arms. "Maybe I'm a defense mechanism, maybe I'm a parasite, I COULD be a tumor... or maybe I was just always there. I certainly don't give a rat's ass." He hadn't ever really thought about it. He was just... there, with Theo, helping him try to survive. "It's not like I can just ask him if he knows anything, can I?"
