Karter nodded, accepting the criticisms and filing them away, never to be dwelt upon again. It was useful information to have, though. He thought a bit on his next question though. Two down, three left, so he'd better make good use of them. "...Have you ever met a woman by the name of Mikka?" He found this relevant, even if no one else did... If Yuki knew Mikka, then he didn't want information about Theo's identity slipping into the Russian's hands.

"No..." Yukiko straightened up in her seat, eyes filled with confusion. The name was entirely unfamiliar to her, although it sounded foreign. There were a couple of strange looking people hanging around the city; people who were definitely not from Japan. "Should I?"

Karter shook his head. "Someone I hope you avoid mentioning Theo or I to, if you ever run across her. You're in the same clan, so I assumed you might have met. You probably WILL meet at your headquarters at some point..." He frowned. "She's Russian, and quite a bit like me... minus the whole... Split personality thing..." That was actually a bit harder to say out loud than he had expected. Odd...

"Don't talk to the Russian- got it." Funny, Yukiko would have thought she would have noticed a Russian girl prancing around base. They got a few foreigners in every so often in the clans, but ones from such an isolated country were not exactly commonplace. From what she had gathered, the country was taking its time with urbanization. Most of the land was snow and villages, from what the Ookami had heard. Although she didn't pay too much attention to world affairs.

Karter nodded, deciding to hold off on his other two questions as their waitress brought over their orders. A basket of fried chicken with a few sauces in cups to the side, a basket of french fries, and a pair of drinks. Perfect, the Tora was starving. He simply gave the woman a nod before starting to eat, leaving Yuki to ward off her offers for 'anything else I can get you for now?'

Yukiko quickly reassured the waitress that they were fine, oddly relieved when she finally left the pair alone. Having people around during a conversation such as this made her nervous, even if the discussion of murder and the like had somewhat passed.
The Ookami studied the food before her for a moment, eventually forcing herself to start picking at her fries. Her stomach felt clenched and tight; unwilling to take sustenance. But she somehow managed to half-heartedly eat all the same. Her eyes flickered up towards Karter once or twice, but she didn't say anything. Words completely escaped her.

He was onto question four if his count was right. And he ate his food easily enough, noting Yuki's half-hearted picking at her own meal. "Alright," He said, swallowing a mouthful of fried potatoes and chicken. "I've told you I don't intend to hurt you unless you hurt Theo, haven't I?" He didn't really recall if he had or not... "So my question is why are you so obviously afraid?" Her job was no different than before, really. "Are you having trouble reconciling the fact that there is a murderer in Theo's body, whether he's aware of it or not?" He ate another fry or two. "Must be difficult to process, to imagine me doing all I've done while wearing his face."

Startled by the question, Yukiko froze, lost in a state of chaotic, rapid-paced thought. Even her eyes were locked motionlessly in place. Not for the first time, she was forced to reply to a question she didn't know the answer to herself. That was what really sucked about being so confused about every aspect of her own being, the Ookami couldn't really make sense of anything that way.
"I'm trying not to think about it," Yukiko murmured quickly. Her words were quiet and breathy. "The killing part is still surreal to me." Suddenly she lost the ability to hold eye contact. "Frankly, I don't know what you're capable of, and it scares me. I don't know how it will affect Theo either, and that also scares me." Even though she knew she would be giving Karter some power over her by saying this, the Ookami softly added, "You frighten me. I can ignore it for Theo's sake, but you frighten me."

"Good." He said, eating another chicken strip. "Keep holding onto that fear, the brave get stupid and get themselves killed but fear keeps your wits sharp and keeps you alive. I don't want you to be brave, if you were you'd go to the police and turn me in." He munched on a few more fries. "And then I'd have to cut you into little pieces, and that would upset Theo. But you're not brave. You, my dear, are timid at best, and I would be tempted to call you a coward if it weren't for the fact that you're eating with me."

Yukiko winced a little at the "timid" comment; that had stung. It was painfully obvious to her just how true that was. She was, in very many ways, fearful. It was the reason she so seldom talked to people or made connections with them, or why she so rarely bothered to emerge from the comforts of base. The Ookami was afraid, afraid of many, many things.
But here she was, eating lunch with some sort of deranged murderer. Funny, how these things worked.

"Oh don't look so hurt over the truth." Karter admonished, giving Yuki a look. "If you face it it's another step toward changing it, ignoring it's a step you can't afford to not take." He took another bite out of his chicken. "I'm going to save my last question for later, I'll let you know when I want to use it."

"O...okay." Yukiko snapped her gaze downwards, nibbling at a few more fries. She wasn't all that eager to make conversation (for surely some of the pleasant variety of was not likely). The Ookami bit her lip thoughtfully, mauling over Karter's words. She sort of recalled someone else telling her something along the same lines, although they'd done so in a much more encouraging and gentle manner. Perhaps the bluntness of it all was what she needed to hear, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

Karter wasn't uncomfortable with the silence. It meant Yukiko was thinking about what he had told her, and that was a good thing. The brave might wind up dying, but being too timid got nothing accomplished. It wouldn't help Theo if his source of confidence was a doormat too...

The Ookami's brow furrowed for a moment; a quick, deep look of frustration passed over her face. When her eyes rose her gaze was sharp and cool. "I understand that you wanted to make a point," she stated frigidly, "but that doesn't mean you needed to be a complete asshole about it." Where that had come from, she had no idea. But Yukiko was sort of glad she'd said it.

Karter smiled in return, a smug and satisfied sort of smirk, as if that was the response he had been hoping would happen. "Good, good. A step in the right direction, but remember who you're dealing with." His grin widened, showing off his canines as his eyes narrowed dangerously. "I suppose I should have said that I won't hurt you BADLY unless you hurt Theo, you're not completely protected by his favor though. Remember that."
