Just another day in the remarkably uneventful life of Yukiko Oshiro. Well, it had certainly been more eventful after finding out she had a long-lost brother... but since he didn't really want to get all "buddy buddy" with her things were pretty much the same as they had always been. Nothing to do. Nowhere to go. No one to be with. Yukiko sighed and lobbed a rock towards a patch of long grass. She started humming, as she often did when alone, and eventually audible words formed.
"Allow me to exaggerate a memory or two Where summers lasted longer than, longer than we do And nothing really mattered except for me to be with you But in time we all forgot and we all grew Your melody sounds as sweet as the first time it was sung With a little bit more character for show And by the time your father's heard of all the wrong you've done Then I'm putting out the lantern find your own way back home."

Karter had decided to stretch his legs this fine day, and as per usual that typically meant that there had earlier been someone that had threatened his host. Said person was now short three fingers, missing an ear, and was bleeding out in the middle of a cornfield, but as far as the alter personality could deduce he was a bum from a gang with little to no family. The punk would never even be missed. He was just glad that Theo would be safe, and he wiped off the blood on the ground. He was untraceable thanks to all his experience with covering his tracks, and he kept his mask on as he departed from the stalks.
He'd just have to go home to the HQ and go to sleep, let Theo think he had just fallen asleep. Thank goodness that there was no blood on his clothes this time, it would have been difficult to explain.

Yukiko was still singing to herself when she saw someone emerge from the cornfield. She jumped, startled. Her heart had nearly leapt out of her chest at the sight, and now was pumping at a million miles a minute. Curse her and her nerves!
"Ack!" She cried upon being caught off-guard. After a second she laughed. "Ah, sorry. I didn't see you..."

Karter blinked behind the white mask but waved, trying to seem friendly even after what had just happened. He couldn't talk though, that alone would put Theo in danger. He would have to stay silent... great, time to feign muteness. A hand crept up and tapped his throat as he shook his head, trying to get across 'I can't talk, don't be offended that I didn't say 'hi' back.'

Yukiko honestly was not suprised by the man's mask, nor his apparent muteness. With a few of the stranger things that had been going on lately, she was just growing used to them. It seemed that she had a habit for stumbling onto curious situations these days.
"Oh, you can't talk?" The Ookami asked, tilting her head to the side. Her green eyes were curious, but she wasn't the type of person to throw questions at people- especially if they couldn't answer.

The masked teen shook his head in response and traced a frown on the mouth of his mask. This was actually becoming kind of fun, like a game of charades where he never had to guess. Maybe he could mess with the Ookami girl along with it. She seemed friendly, but Karter was in the mood for a little fun after all the business was over.

"Aw, that sucks." Yukiko pouted. It was her "cute" way of showing pity. Kind enough to show she felt sorry for someone, playful enough to lighten the mood. "So is this going to be like charades then? Or am I just being annoying? If you don't wanna talk just let me know."

Karter held up one finger for the first option, restraining chuckles behind his mask. Oh, this was going to be elaborate... Call it a hunch but he just knew it would snowball into something like that. The masked Tora pointed to the manor house and gave a beckoning motion. It looked interesting for Kuma territory.

Good. He didn't think she was being annoying. Yukiko turned her head to the manor, her green eyes wide and curious. She had never been inside before... it was one of various places in Hatsu Itonami she hadn't gotten around to exploring yet.
"You wanna go over there?" She asked, head tilted to the side. Well... the last time she'd gone off with a stranger some pretty weird things had happened... but she'd come out alive hadn't she? There we go! Let's hear it for optimism. Yukiko thought. Besides, do you have anything better to do? No. If you never take risks, you'll be alone forever.

Karter gave a nod and started walking, glancing back every-so-often to be sure that the Ookami girl was following. She wasn't questioning his 'mutism' or why he was wearing a mask either, especially when facial expressions might help his cause... He could always pull some facial deformation or something though.

Yukiko followed her strange masked companion. To be honest the last thing on her mind was the reasons behind his silence and his mask; she'd often had the idea to go parading about in one herself. She'd just never been outgoing enough to do so.
Whatever the reason, it made the man give of a "Phantom-of-the-Opera" like air of mystery. It was irrestiable in some ways, and the Ookami had found herself wanting to stay close to her companion, merely on the ground that she found him fascinating.

Karter grinned behind the mask, fairly certain that he had the girl charmed. He knew the whole 'Man Of Mystery' schtick was guaranteed to enchant women, it was only broadcasted everywhere at all hours of the day. Romance novels, plays, movies, you name it and a woman falls in love with a shadowy and suave mystery man. It was actually pretty damn funny now that he thought of it.
Figuring that he might as well show some form of interest in the girl, he decided to ask for the Ookami's name. Now how to go about doing that?

Yukiko was, in a way, wondering the same thing her companion had been. It would be nice to refer to him as something other than "mute-masked-mystery-man," despite how catchy the alliteration sounded. However, while she knew how to go about giving that information, she wasn't really sure how to get it from the silent person beside her. She'd always been okay at charades but this wasn't trying to guess the title of one of her parent's favorite movies... it was something quite different.
"So... what exactly am I supposed to call you?" Only after asking did she realize her mistake. "Um, you don't have to answer that if you don't want to." She smiled weakly and held up her hands in a sort of position of surrender.

Karter pointed to the house, and pretended to write something down on his hand. Once he got paper and a pencil, he could write or draw what he wanted to say to her. He put his hands down only to raise one gloved hand again, pointing to the Ookami as if to return the question.

While not sure exactly what Mr. Masked Man was getting at, Yukiko had a pretty good idea. He'd be able to tell her once they got to the manor house. That made sense, she supposed. Of course, he'd also returned her question.
"Me?" She asked innocently, pointing at herself with wide green eyes. "I'm Yukiko... but most people just call me Yuki."
