Ayumu laughed a little easier. "I suppose, but I'm not too interested in making it big or anything to be honest." she shrugged. "I think about it every now and then, but it's not really something I envy." at least she thought she wasn't too interested in it. It was a complicated subject for her, but outwardly, she kept her opinion of it at that.
"I bet you can find something." she encouraged him. "Just because there's not many doesn't mean there's none at all."

"Maybe."
He hadn't put much thought into it. Before he'd stuck with his mom, but now, for the first time, he was completely on his own (well not completely if Yukiko had anything to say about it... and she usually did). Kaito suppossed he would find his place one way or another, it was only a matter of time. As to whether or not he would LIKE that place... while that was the golden question.
"I guess it's just another change. I'll learn to live with it." He shrugged for the umpteenth time.

Ayumu nodded. "Change is good." she commented, not too sure what else to say on the matter.
After a bit of silence, the blond decided to go back to her bundle of curious questions. "So Yukiko's your sister, right?" she asked, though she already knew. "What's it like having a little sister around you?" she knew what it was like having a brother around, but a sister would certainly be a different case.

"I can't honestly say I know yet," Kaito stated plainly. He wasn't really sure why he was being so open about his family life all of a sudden, but he didn't bother thinking about it. "I didn't know I had any siblings until recently, and Yukiko's the only one I've met so far." Though, he silently added, it feels like it's been a lifetime.

Ayumu tilted her head. "How'd you not know?" she didn't mean to get in his personal business, really she didn't. But now that he had said something that she was so curious about she really couldn't keep herself from asking.

"We're only half siblings," he replied with a sigh. "She grew up with my... dad," the Tora seemed to struggle with the word, "and I was raised by my mom." Kaito ran his fingers through his messy blue hair. "Of course I never expected to run into her here. That was just some freaky conicidence."

Ayumu blinked for a moment and nodded. "I see." she responded, not wanting to make some big deal about it and end up making things worse. "So I take it you're not too fond of you father, huh?" she asked. She quickly decided to add, "Oh, i-if I'm prying a little too much just let me know, I-I'll drop the topic if you'd want."

"No... no it's fine." Kaito sighed again. His words were sharp and his stance rigid. "I'm certainly not his biggest fan, that's for sure. I can understand being a stupid teenager and ending up with pregnant girlfriend, but walking out on her and her baby... and never turning back..." the Tora shook his head. "He treated my mom like garbage, he threw her away. I can't ever forgive him for that."

The blond frowned. "I can understand that." she said, looking ahead as they went along. She hadn't been in that sort of position herself, but she had a feeling that she'd probably react in much the same way if her father had felt her mother that way. "... Have you gotten to talk to him, or do you not really care to?" she was beginning to wonder if he was getting sick of her questions just yet.

"Once." Kaito frowned. The worst part of that conversation hadn't been the hatred cowards his father, but almost a lack therof. Hikaru Oshiro had been eerily pleasant during the short time that they had talked. It was all the more reason for Kaito to be angry now.
It was easy to waltz back in when things were easy, but what about sticking around for the hard times? Because of his father's negligence, his mother suffered from an immense workload, being the a prime source of gossip, and even being called a whore by her own mother.
Kaito turn and gave Ayumu a wry half-smile. "Let's just say that was why I finally left home."

Ayumu listened patiently, not really showing much as Kaito spoke. When he was finished however, she stopped walking long enough to be able to pull him in a hug. "You don't seem like the type that likes hugs, but I'm giving you one anyway." she told him, using the same sort of voice she'd normally talk to West with when he was scared or upset.

Kaito blinked as Ayumu hugged him. He hadn't really been expecting that, and he wasn't sure how to react. His cheeks felt oddly warm compared to the rest of his face, which was frozen by the chilly air. Kaito looked down at the blonde, still unsure of what to do. Hug her back? Say something? What?

After hugging him for a few moments, Ayumu didn't think Kaito would return the hug. Not that he had to of course, but she was secretly hoping he would. She finally came to the decision that he probably just didn't want to hug her back, letting him go when she convinced herself that must have been it. Like she had just said, he didn't really seem like the type for hugs...
"S-sorry." she muttered, feeling more than a little embarrassed. "I just... y-you looked like you needed it..."

"No," Kaito responded quickly (and somewhat apologetically), "it's not... I just wasn't expecting it is all." He coughed loudly, for once willfully at a loss for words. "T-thank you."
Unsure of what he was doing, the tall Tora gave his companion a quick half-hug in return by using one arm to pull the blonde towards his side before releasing her. Kaito turned back onto the forest path.
"This way, I believe," he murmured nonchalantly, as if none of the previous minutes had ever even happened. However, he remained a tad flustered.

Ayumu was a little surprised with the half-hug, feeling her cheeks warm up when he pulled her toward him for that quick moment. When he released her and went back to walking, Ayumu couldn't help but giggle a little. It was a habit she had when she was really embarrassed and it often led to people looking at her kind of funny. "Okay." she nodded, still giggling a little under her breath.
