Tekka, who had been sleeping soundly until the whisper's utterance, suddenly awoke and looked around, befuddled by her surroundings. Her eyes laid upon Kage and a spark of realization came over her. The surgery. What had she been DOING? There was a glint of metal and then WHAM, out like a light.
She jumped out of her chair and dashed over. "Kage?" She asked to him. "How'd it go?" She didn't want to hear from the doctors, she wanted to hear from him.

When Kage tried to answer, no sound came out. Unconsciously, he got the feeling that it was because his mouth was too dry. This led to Mistake #1 in the giant's effort to be discreet about his new appearance. He swallowed once and licked over his lips, unaware until after he had done so that it must have looked somewhat disturbing, what with half of his mouth being nothing but a large rectangular hole in the metal and all. However, this afforded Kage a little more flexibility with his voice.
"Well, I can... kinda see out of my other eye..." said the Tora. "That, and I'm still alive, so I suppose it was a success." 'Kinda' was actually just Kage being modest, however. His vision was eerily perfect, better than it had been before the fight. It was like both sides were working as one eye, almost.

A cold feeling trailed down her spine at the motion. As much as she tried to deny it, the metal half would take some getting used to. She smiled despite it, at least Kage was alive and well and could SEE. Wonderful! "Awesome." She said, taking hold of his hand, not sure if it was for his benefit or her own.
The doctors finished wheeling the giant back to the room in a minute, perhaps less, and moved him from the gurney to the semi-comfortable bed.

Kage gratefully took Tekka's hand, unaware of whom the gesture benefited more. The giant could see his girlfriend's eyes as clearly as he always could, and right now they conveyed very clearly that this wasn't easyh for her. It wasn't hard to see that Kage empathized.
"Did you sleep well?" the older Tora asked tentatively. He still wasn't quite sure that Tekka would understand why she needed to be hypnotized, or even if she'd remember being put under.

Tekka smiled a bit sheepishly. "Pretty good I guess, I didn't even know I had fallen asleep until I woke up..." Which was kinda annoying. She hadn't even felt that tired, but she couldn't remember too much about what had happened right before. Just the coin... But that was silly, a coin wouldn't cause her to nod off like that.

"You... must've had a vivid dream or something," tried Kage in an attempt to smooth over the hole in continuity caused by the hypnosis. "It happens to me all the time; I'll fall asleep and have a vivid dream, and it's like I was there the whole time. I never remember going to bed or any of that."

Tekka gave a shrug, slowly growing used to the metal-half of Kage's face. "I guess, it's not really anything to worry about though..." It wasn't like sleeping was anything momentous or whatever. "There's more important things to think about anyway, like when you'll be allowed out of here." There was probably going to be at least another night there, perhaps more if the doctors saw fit.

"No one said anything about it to me," replied Kage, duplicating the shrugging gesture. "Guess we just wait for someone to come tell us... But even more important than that, we should probably try and find out how the rest of the Anti-Aiden Brigade is holding up. I know Hotaru took a few good hits, and Jack was in the fray pretty much the whole time..." It made Kage almost lose himself in the revelation that just a few months before, he hadn't counted on anybody. Everybody who wasn't Joshua or jeremiah was just an employer or a passerby. Now, it seemed all of that was almost reversed.

Tekka blinked and her hand dove to her pocket as she realized that she had been out for what seemed to be a few hours. "I might have gotten a text while I was asleep," She said, taking out the rounded rectangle of tech in her pocket. Sure enough, there were two missed texts. She checked them hurriedly, summarizing them to Kage. "Jack's fine, only a cracked rib or two, Phoenix is worse but she's been sleeping it off, Eva's fine..." She flicked to the second message and froze up a little. "Aiden's got amnesia... He doesn't remember a thing, and he's pretty dinged up... dinged up being an understatement..."

Kage gave a nod at the first bits of information. It was good that Jack and Hotaru were okay. Granted, he didn't have a clue who Eva was (maybe the blonde lady he had thrown at Aiden?), but that was good news, too. At the news concerning Aiden, the giant merely shrugged.
"Mission accomplished," he said. "We gave him his just desserts and he forgot you exist. All problems have been eradicated." The larger Tora supposed that, were the circumstances different (different meaning 'Aiden hadn't tried to kill Tekka on several occasions'), he would've been more sensitive. However, nothing could warrant a severe beating and amnesia more than being a threat to Kage's beloved.

Tekka took a deep breath and nodded. Kage sort of did have a point. Without his memory, Aiden wasn't a threat anymore, and it wasn't like he was dead or dying. Things would doubtlessly get better. A genuine smile crept up on the young Tora. "I guess we did, didn't we?"

"All thanks to the Anti-Aiden Brigade..." replied Kage, resisting the urge to crack a grin. He very much disliked the fact that his face had become creepy, whether Tekka said anything about it or not. It reminded the giant of why he had decided to be a nomad in the first place; no one to count on meant no one to back away. "I guess now the question is, what do we do now? Aiden's outta the picture, and there's no way I'm getting any work with a mug like this."

Tekka gave him a look. "Anti-Aiden Force Four." She shot back with a lighter heart than she had felt for awhile. Rushes of optimism were good for something, it seemed.
The blond though momentarily on his question. "You could work for Satoru," she suggested. "He likes you well enough, and I don't think he'd care about your face..." Though what Kage could possibly do for him without scaring away customers, Tekka wasn't so sure. "And I can always just try harder with my own line of work."
