((OOC: Feel free to be the Doctor if ya want. You know the real extent of the injuries, I don't. ^^" I'll just give what I'm pretty sure are the basics here... And left side was kinda just picked since I don't think it was established... ^^"))
Tekka shrugged. "I was actually hoping you'd stop by, doc." She replied, she really had been hoping for it not because she wanted to stop talking to Kage (Ra forbid that ever happened) but because she needed some sort of adult there to tell the extent of his injuries.
The Doctor nodded, seeming to understand Tekka's worries. She gave a sigh and glanced at her clipboard. "Well, I can't be too optimistic about it... It seems like the left side of Mr. Jernus's face has been completely broken. Nothing's broke the skin though, and we were waiting for him to regain consciousness before doing a more examinations."

Kage once again had to fiercely resist the urge to grin wryly as he nodded in confirmation to the doctor's statement.
"That's about the easiest way to say it," the giant said. Talking out of the corner of his mouth was starting to become a pain. "I can't see anything outta my left eye, and it kinda feels like that side of my mouth's been turned to mush." Dr. Saito scribbled something on her clipboard.
"We still need to run a few X-rays to make a proper diagnosis," she replied. "Once we have determined exactly how much damage has been done, we can decide on a procedure."
"Oh, boy..." muttered Kage. This caused the doctor to give a small smile.

"It's painless, I promise." The doctor said through her smile. "though you will need to get up and follow me if it's not too difficult for you."
Tekka edged away a bit to give her boyfriend more room to maneuver.

Kage nodded and got up, offering only a grunt or two to show discomfort. The giant placed a hand on Tekka's shoulder as he looked to Dr. Saito to lead the way again. Hopefully, his girlfriend would understand that that meant Kage wanted her to come along, not that she really needed the request to be made.
"Lead the way, Doc," offered the larger Tora. Walking wasn't a problem for him... just smiling, and laughing... and seeing, for a good part of it.

Another smile from Dr. Saito. "Just follow me." She said before leading them all out of the room and down the hall. Luckily, there were no stairs, with Kage's left eye gone his depth perception went with it. Stairs were a disaster waiting to happen. Tekka walked along, following the doctor and sticking close to Kage every step of the way.
"Alright," the woman said as they entered a room. "Mr. Jernus, I'll need you to stand right there for the moment and to get any and all metal objects off of your person at this time." She then looked to Tekka. "Ms. King, you'll need to stand by me, alright?" Tekka gave a reluctant nod, squeezing Kage's hand one last time before making her way over.

Kage rummaged around in his pockets, removing first the spare change he had been saving up for a few days, then his phone, followed by a small gold-colored key. Finally, and with the most care, the giant withdrew his precious silver Braille coin. He held the little pile of stuff out, but not to Dr. Saito. Instead, it was offered to Tekka. Anyone with so much as a basic acquaintance with Kage would know why.

Tekka took the pile gently, smiling up at her boyfriend. It'd all be safe with her, no one could steal from a thief and get away with it after all.
Dr. Saito simply gave a nod, gesturing to a machine. "Mr. Jernus, if you would be so kind as to stand behind the machine we can get started." She and Tekka were situated behind a sort of barrier, not because there was any danger (medical science had gotten much better over the years, and dangerous examinations were a thing of the past) but so they didn't get wrong test results.

Kage did as he was told, standing behind the large machine as Dr. Saito pressed a button. The side of the contraption that the giant was standing behind lit up, illuminating the Tora's body for a few seconds before going dark. Out of the corner of his working eye, Kage noted that a similar panel of sensors was embedded in the wall to his right. He guessed that the same was the case with the left wall, and was proven right as the right wall lit up. When all the sensors had gone dark again, Dr. Saito tapped the X-ray from the left side on the screen. Another tap zoomed in on the image to show a closer view of Kage's head.
"Oh, my..." the doctor muttered, shaking her head sadly.

Tekka glanced at the doctor worriedly. "Oh my?" She questioned, looking at the Doctor. "That doesn't sound good what does 'oh my' mean?" Her speech was quickening as she fretted over it, scared of what the cause of the surprise was.

"Look here," answered Dr. Saito, tilting the screen so that Tekka would be able to see. "On an X-ray, one can clearly see the bones of the subject." By pressing a button, the doctor was able to pull up the image of Kage's right side. "On this side, you can clearly see his jawbone, cheekbone, etc." The pulled up image was closed, leaving the screen only to show the left side of Kage's head. Instead of the clearly defined bones, there was nothing but a mass of gray. "We'll be lucky if there's so much as a single bone fragment left. It's nothing short of a miracle that Mr. Jernus hasn't suffered severe brain damage."

Tekka quaked, "So that means..?" How was Kage even AWAKE? He should have passed out long ago from the pain, and yet here he was standing in the x-ray machine, wide awake and coherent. How had Aiden done THAT MUCH damage with just one punch? Well, she was pretty sure it was only one punch...

Before answering the blonde Tora's question, Dr. Saito realized suddenly that she had neglected to let Kage know that he was free to join them again.
"Thank you for your patience, Mr. Jernus," she said, her voice heavy with guilt. "You can come over and get your things, now." Kage nodded and walked back to where the females were standing. He looked like he might have been about to say something, but became frozen in place when he saw the X-ray of his head. Dr. Saito took note of this and used the opportunity to tell both Toras the unfortunate news at the same time. "What this X-ray indicates is that facial reconstruction is far past impossible at this point. Luckily, there is a procedure we can perform that will protect the tissue in your face. However, it's rather drastic."

Tekka gave back the items to Kage carefully. "I'm willing to hear the drastic option." She said quietly.

Kage deposited his belongings into their respective pockets before standing beside Tekka and putting his arm around her. At the doctor's mention of a drastic option, the giant reluctantly nodded in agreement with his girlfriend. Drastic, after all, was just a short word for 'risky, with little chance of survival'.
"We've only performed it a few times, but..." began Dr. Saito. "In short, we clean out the muscle tissue and bone from inside the destroyed half of Mr. Jernus's face and build a replica out of a powerful metal alloy. This will also require the removal of the left eye." Kage had to try very hard at this point not to let his good eye widen. He also barely managed to succeed in not saying something along the lines of 'WHAT?!'.

While Kage managed to keep his reaction under control, Tekka wasn't. "WHAT?" She yelped, only able to keep herself from yelling by a tiny fraction. Reconstructing the bones of a shattered (or in this case, liquefied) bone wasn't unheard of, but it was indeed risky. As was the removal of the eye.
