The Ookami gave a wry smile. "He'd be right, not that he remembers too much about her. Can't say I remember terribly much either, but it's enough that I know who I lost. And I remember her quirks, and her voice..." He trailed off and shook his head as if to shake of the nostalgia with that motion.

Hotaru nodded slightly."I know what'cha mean." she said. "Got a certain memory of her you like to look back on?" she asked him. She wanted to see how well she could get to know him in this one conversation. It might just be their only one.

"Yeah," He said. "I'm five, and it's a little while before we find out she's pregnant with Tekka, and she's sitting on her rocking chair and playing her flute." He also remembered that he and Jack had attempted to dance for her, but with Jack so young and Aiden unable to dance for the life of him they wound up just making her laugh. He decided to leave that part out though.

Hotaru smiled. "Sounds nice." she commented. "I'm guessing most family memories are suppose to be happy ones, right?" she asked him. It was something she always thought was true, but never got to experience it for herself. Hearing about other people's families like this tend to make her feel better. At least she could pretend she had a family like that at one point that way.

"That's the general assumption." Aiden responded. "Doesn't always work out that way though. Take the Clans for example," He began raising a finger in a 'don't interrupt for I'm making a point' gesture. "In Ookami there are people who bug others to no end and others that are rather endearing. The memories made with them vary, like in a regular family." He gave a shrug afterwards though.

Hotaru nodded her head. "Guess you're right." she said. "Would've been a nice thought, though." she commented to herself.
A question came into the redhead's mind, changing the subject. "So did you pick up fighting all on your own, or did you take lessons or something like that when you were little?" she asked him.

"Both, plus video game tournaments with Jack." He answered. "Never believe people that say video games rot your brain. They do no such thing. They do influence thoughts a bit though." He also learned a relatively good bit about firearms from playing games too, imitation worked rather well for him. "What about you?" He asked.

"Had a personal teacher, guess you could call her." the redhead replied. "I was a cry baby when I joined the gang, so one of the girls," she paused. "extreme tomboys in the gang, taught me how to fight and be independant and all..." she trailed off. "'Course after I left the gang I turned soft, so I can't really fight as good as I use to." she shrugged. "Guess that's not a good thing now, hm?" she then joked slightly.

Aiden nodded. "Makes sense, you didn't fight well enough back at Freeds to really make 'Gang-Leader' status in my books so I guess you have been out of the gang for awhile." He tapped his chin. "By the way, did the, ah, extreme tomboy leave the gang too?"

Hotaru thought about that one. "I'm not really sure." she said. "I know she was there for a while after I left, but I haven't seen her since..." she trailed off, thinking about the closest thing she had to a big sister. What happen to her, anyway? She'd have to try looking around for her sometime later.

Aiden nodded. "Do you acknowledge the possibility she may be dead?" He asked calmly, probing a bit deeper.

Hotaru gave him a look for a moment, then sighed a moment later. "Didn't think about that, but it is a possibility." she said. "Eva was tough, but no one's invincible..." she sighed a little once again. "But if she is alive and in the clans, do you think she'd be easy to find?" she asked him curiously.

"If you had the right sources it could be very easy." The Ookami said. "For example, Jack broke into city hall and found the files on everyone in the clans, if you could do that then that's one way of finding it out." He looked up in thought. "Or just do it the old fashioned way and ask around. Senior members from the clans oughta do the job well enough."

Hotaru nodded. "True." she said. "But I don't really feel like breaking into city hall again and taking any risks, so I suppose I'd have to go with asking people." she laughed a little, but still, the thought of seeing Eva would really take her back, and in a good way for once. She did have good memories in the gang, after all. She just never bothered mentioning them too much.

"Makes enough sense." he nodded. "After all, if I could figure out who you are, they can as well." And he hadn't even had a reference or anything. A realization hit him. "Ever consider dying your hair?" He asked. "It might keep them from recognizing you. They do have vague descriptions from witnesses, and the occasional photo, but it's enough." The photos were never very good, but it worked to trigger the connection in Aiden's mind, so it would probably work for others.
