Aiden opened the door to the Mystic Wok to be greeted by the sounds and smells of the typical breakfast fare. Hungry faces that hadn't quite gotten the sleep out of their eyes, a few duelists doing tabletop duels and swapping strategies, and some businessmen off to the government or their jobs. The workers all had on bright smiles (which irritated the large Ookami, no one should be THAT peppy in the morning) and even the manager seemed to be greeting people.
He briefly wondered how the small children in a booth off to the side would handle death-glares. He made a mental note to try it out if they got a reasonable seat.
A hostess greeted him and his companion soon after entering. "Table for two?" She asked, looking between him and the albino known as Locke.

Locke stopped beside Aiden, duly noting his distaste for the cheery attitudes of the workers. She looked at the hostess, then up at Aiden, then back at the hostess. Finally, the albino shrugged.
"Unless you fancy a booth...?" she asked her sparring partner, making a mental note to tease him later about his sour demeanor.

He gave a shrug. "Doesn't matter to me." The hostess took this as a good sign and smiled brightly.
"If you'll just follow me," She said, grabbing two menus and walking the pair over to a table a fair bit away from all the hubbub, but not so far that they were alone. There were still quite a few people around them, though to the Ookami's displeasure the small children were out of death-glare range. Oh well, another time then.
He took a seat and a menu from the smiling hostess before she left to attend to a nervous looking gentleman in a gray suite and dark blue tie. Probably on his way to a job interview.

Locke took the other menu and sat across from Aiden, thumbing through the pages to find a suitable breakfast. She shook her head, so as to see her companion without the curtain of white in front of her and giggled at his expression.
"You look disappointed," she remarked, her eyes sparkling mischieviously. "Did I spoil your chance at picking up the hostess or something?"

"No," Aiden said calmly with just a hint of disappointment as he poked around the menu for more than just pancakes and coffee. "You just spoiled my chances for scaring little children." He didn't look up from the menu to see her reaction as he scanned the laminated lists for anything sounding even remotely tasty.

Locke stopped on the page with the full breakfast meals, putting a long finger on one in particular, so as to remember it. She laughed at Aiden's calm answer, but it just meant she'd have to try harder.
"Well, with such a friendly face, I can see why you'd be trying so hard to scare people," the albino continued. "I saw that hostess's face. She thought the very sun itself had walked into the Wok for a bit there."

Aiden gave her a quick glance. "Right..." was his only word as he made his decision on food and coffee. Now all he needed was a waiter or waitress, typically they came to introduce themselves by now...

Locke huffed quietly and set down her menu, her eyes locked on Aiden now.
"What happened to the enthusiastic Aiden from the beach?" she asked, genuinely curious. The albino wasn't necessarily the kindest person on the planet, herself, but she did so dislike unresponsive company. "You like to fight, and obviously eat, so when did talking get the short stick?"

Aiden grinned at her frustration. "Fairly early on in life I'm afraid." He responded casually, pleased at her reaction. She didn't take shit, that was good. "I could go on into a lengthy discussion, but as you so eloquently put it: talking got the short end of the stick, so I won't." He looked over her shoulder to see a waiter come their way.

Locke's brow furrowed at this. Apparently, Aiden would respond to more amusing reactions. This only served to peak the albino's curiosity.
"Bad childhood, huh?" asked Locke. "I know how that is..." She couldn't quite decide if Aiden was challenging her again, to a different kind of fight. However, there wasn't time to figure it out before the waiter arrived.

Aiden was about to reply when the waiter arrived. He looked up at the server, a portly gentleman with a bright smile that seemed a bit fake. The guy wasn't a morning person, but he was probably a good actor. The waiter brushed a bit of sandy blond hair out of his eyes before looking at the two clan members. "Hello, my name's Chance, would you two like to start off with drinks and take a little bit of time to think about your order or are you ready?"

Locke looked up at Chance, a smile of her own in place.
"I'll be having a cup of Darjeeling tea," the albino stated. "Also, the hotcake breakfast with two eggs, over easy, and... oh, I suppose the sausage links."

Aiden on the other hand didn't smile, keeping his expression neutral. "I'll have blueberry pancakes, hashbrowns, sausages, and scrambled eggs with a black Mid City Roast coffee." He passed his menu over to the waiter who appeared glad that he'd only need to stop by their table twice more if he was lucky. Chance appeared to have gotten up FAR too early that day and would be happy when coffee breaks happened.

Pale blue eyes twinkled a bit as she got an idea. Before handing over her own menu, the albino looked up at Chance.
"You know, hash browns actually sound really tasty, now that he mentions it," she said. "If you wouldn't mind putting an order of them on with my meal, that'd be great."

Aiden caught onto her ruse, but decided to play along. He had the money to pay for a gigantic meal, and it'd be fun to see the servers trip over themselves to get all the food out at the same time. "You know, I'll add on a couple of muffins to my order. Chocolate chip. And while I'm at it," he leaned back in his chair, "Add on some french toast." The challenge was both clear and accepted. It was on.
Chance, must to his chagrin, dropped the smile. He picked it up again after a beat and nodded. "Alright then." He jotted down the extra parts of the order. He was wanting to leave soon but wasn't sure if they'd add on anything else, thus preventing him from leaving. "Is that all for now?"
