"Well if that's the case..." Jack dived into one of the breaking waves, "Last one out's shark-bait!" He called as he surfaced. He turned around before getting swept a little ways into shore by another wave, laughing all the while.
There was something oddly satisfying about being in the water. Especially a body of water as large as the ocean, pulsating with life hidden in its salty depths.

Hotaru smirked as Jack called out. "Not if I have anything to say!" she called back, heading for the next wave. It carried her forward until she was in reaching distance of him. She ended up grabbing him in a hug, giggling as she did.
"Floatie!" she said like a four year old, still clinging to him in the water.

"Small child!" He exclaimed, hugging her back as he glided though the waves. They were still in a fairly secluded area, but there was a lifeguard post off in the distance. It looked abandoned, but it was a reassuring sight at least.
The waves caused a slight swaying motion, both peaceful and soothing. Perhaps that was why he had always loved the ocean.

Hotaru was blushing slightly as she continued to hold onto Jack. She wanted to hold on a little bit longer, but forced herself to release him after a few more moments, she didn't want to end up hurting him.
She looked around at her surroundings, staying close to Jack so the two wouldn't get separated by the waves.
"Beautiful." she said looking around a little more. "Absolutely amazing."

The sun was drying the water on his hair, leaving behind the salt crystals in its wake. He dunked his head under the water again and grinned. "Isn't it?" He looked down the beach where some playing children were being supervised. "I've always loved the beach," He grinned. "It almost makes me think I should have been in Kuma."

Hotaru nodded. "Yeah, but you could just find a Kuma, get in a territory duel and win." she told him. "Then the Ookami would have this place... until Kuma want it back, or Tora decides to take it!" she dunked herself in the water like Jack had just did. When she got back to the surface, her hair was a lot heavier, but she didn't mind.

He chuckled. "I would but my dueling skills are a bit lacking." He held his fingers a little ways apart to show how much. "And then odds are that I'd have some very angry Kuma's on my tail if I did manage to get this place." He looked at the stretch of beach. "I don't think they'd want to give this up."

Hotaru shrugged. "True." she said as she looked towards the shore. "Then I guess we should just enjoy it then!" she splashed around in the water, watching as the small waves travled in all directions.

Jack laughed and disappeared back under the water, grasping at the sandy bottom to find shells or something interesting. His hand clasped around something round and rough and he resurfaced.
He shook the water out of his eyes and opened his hand. It was a sand-dollar. One that hadn't been washed up on the beach yet.

Hotaru noticed the sand dollar in Jack's hand, smiling lightly. She relaxed and began to float of her back, suddenly feeling a little tired out. She looked over often to make sure she wasn't straying away from the brunette. Each time she noticed herself moving further away, she lightly swam back and continued to float.
"It's pretty." she told him, looking at the sand dollar again.

Jack made sure to stay within sight of Hotaru, riptides did happen after all. She certainly wasn't an inexperienced swimmer but he had that protectiveness gnawing at his gut from so many years in the war.
"Want it?" He asked holding it out to her.

Hotaru stood in the water again, staring at the sand dollar for another short moment. "Sure," she said smiling. She took the sand dollar and held it carefully. "Why don't we go back to shore?" she asked him. "I don't wanna lose this out here."

Jack nodded and caught her in a hug to bring her to shore, grinning all the while. He placed her down when they were in knee-deep water and loss of the small treasure would have been hard. He darted onto the sand and laid down with a content smile.

Hotaru giggled as she was being brought up to shore, holding the sand dollar just as carefully as before. When the two were at the shore, she joined him and laid down beside him, smiling peacefully. A small breeze passed them as she started rubbing her arms a little.
"Should have brought a towel or something with me." she joked.

Jack let out a small shiver as the cool breeze came in contact with wet arms. "That makes two of us." He laughed, he didn't bother to wring out his shirt, no real point when it was covered in sand and salt too. "Should we try and find our way back to the semi-populated area of the beach, or do you wanna hang here for a little longer?"
