So imagine Rex's surprise and dismay to find that the term "theater" was used to screen movies and not classical plays. Rex always considered herself a classy and sophisticated guy, and wasn't all too thrilled to see the next big budget action flick, with more money spent on dazzling visual effects then on acting lessons for the primary lead. How she pinned for the days of the legendary turn of the century playwrights and award winning charismatic movie stars of yesteryear.
Rex had come all this way to enjoy some down time and take in a show, but alas she found herself more annoyed and disgruntled at the science fiction extravaganza instead.
She looked over the small pamphlet she was given that advertised the latest blockbuster. "'Fully Alive, the story of a high tech robot girl who vows to one day become a human. When confronted with the impossibility of this task, she goes on a rampaging killing spree throughout a modern day Hatsu Itonami'." She read aloud, a dismissive and sarcastic tone to her voice, followed by a quick roll of her eyes. "What disgusting, abhorrent filth passes for entertainment these days? Not to mention the utter lack of realism! Like anything even remotely similar to that could ever possible happen in our fair city."
Outside the Power Tool Theater, Rex awkwardly leaned against the wall, having her plans for the day completely ruined. Maybe someone or something would come along though to help salvage this endeavour.

Caitlyn Masters wasn't far away, and she was staring at the pamphlet for the lame sci-fi fic as if it had personally offended her. She shook her head slowly, stunned at what the cinema was coming to.
"I am so going back to the barracks and watching old musicals," she declared, to no one in particular. She reached up and brushed her long black hair away from her face. Her eyes drifted over the room, and she quirked up her eyebrows at the sight of someone she recognized. She was fairly certain that they were in the same clan, and that she knew the very feminine young man over there. She decided that now was as good a time as any to introduce herself, as she had been meaning to for a while.
She walked over, slight clicks emitting from the heels of her boots. She was decked out in her typical attire, that being a t-shirt, jeans, and leather boots with two-inch heels. At her waist were her deck box and, of course, her ever-present orange bag of Tarot cards.
"Hey, have I seen you before?" She asked casually, waving to him. Closer now, she decided that he was very, very feminine, and that it was very, very cute. She had always liked guys who were a bit on the girly side.

(OOC: Ugh, I keep accidentally using the term "his" and "he" when referring to Rex. If there's one I missed over just pretend it says what it's supposed to say. <_<)
Rex continued allowing time to absentmindedly trickle through her hands, barely hearing the clicks of heels as the ambient hustle and bustle of city life and masses teeming to catch the next showing seemed to drown out any such noise from her conscious state of mind. It was only when the dark haired maiden spoke to her that Rex recognized her presence.
"Hmm?" she made eye contact with the girl before registering what she had just said. "Why, yes I believe so." a more optimistic grin replacing her expressionless countenance previously. She lightly raised her sleeve and extended her right arm, partly to show she was in the same clan as the dark haired girl was and partly to greet her in a friendly handshake.
"I don't believe we've ever been formally introduced. My name is Rex Cheh-Leh-Stees." She spoke her last name slowly, sounding out phonetically before repeating it once more, quicker. "Coelestis." She nodded with a polite smile, going into a bit of an introduction.
"I was formerly a worker in Tora's medical division, however I was only recently-" she stopped to think of the right word. 'Demoted' had such a negative connotation, and if the dark haired woman was working as a Duelist for the clan, then it'd not be wise to offend her. "-relieved of my position to perform more fieldwork." she stated, after a moment of thought. "And you are?"

Caitlyn waited a moment for the young man to react. She gave him a smile when he finally met her eyes, tucking her hair away from her face. She let her eyes take him in as she stood across from him, and determined that yes, indeed, she did know that face. She took his hand when he offered it. "Nice to see someone I know," the petite teen said.
"You know, I don't think we have." She informed Rex. "Mr. Cheh-Leh-Stees." She tried out the pronunciation, not at all mockingly. "Did I say it right?" She asked, to confirm. Normally, she was very good at pronouncing odd new words.
She blinked. "I wasn't previously aware we had a medical division. Huh." She said, looking a bit surprised. "I'm Caitlyn Masters. I'm mostly just a footsoldier, though I can do a bit of...psychological warfare, so to speak."

Rex nodded firmly at her pronunciation. She could tell they would probably get along, considering the lengths she went to try to be polite. However, her next few words seemed to fill the older female with a certain sense of dread. "Trust me, the others weren't aware of the Tora Medical Division either." Rex's eyes awkwardly shifted towards the ground, replacing her brilliant confidence and way with words, if only for just a moment, with a certain uncharacteristic fear or shame. She didn't seem to be in any particular rush to relate a story that would only serve to discredit her further. The petite young lady's next words seemed to help change the subject however. "Well, at one point in time there was a certain young man by the name of Private Everyn. I'm sure he thought himself 'just a footsoldier' and we all know how well that turned out." She smiled politely, before recalling the rest of the dark haired maiden's words. "Err, if you'll pardon my intrusion, going back to what you mentioned earlier, just what kind of psychological warfare are you speaking of?" (OOC: Err, the name "Private Everyn" is a reference to Katiana Everyn's profile who explains "Katiana's father was a well respected and high ranking member of the Navy,")

Caitlyn had always been good at gauging people's reactions, and she was a bit surprised by Rex's reaction to her mentioning that she had never heard of the medical division. It was a bit strange...
"Let me guess. You essentially were the medical division?" She asked, a slighlty amused smile teasing the corners of her mouth. However, she decided that no matter what the answer to that question was, she wouldn't press any further. It seemed to be something he didn't want to talk about.
Caitlyn nodded in response tot he girl's next words, and then shrugged. "True, true." She said. She appreciated the reassurance. "As for...psychological warfare, for one I personally am self-taught in the discipline of psychology and have a fair idea of how to fluster my enemies. Secondarily, I'm something of a Tarot reader, and there's nothing like a negative reading to frighten the superstitious. Now, let me say that normally, I read what the cards give me, but sometimes I like to...bend the associations a bit."

Rex seemed to truly not delve deeply in the question to what she was doing in the Tora clan until recently. She just looked the other way, pretending to comb her hair with a free hand. It seemed Caitlyn eventually picked up on her apprehension, dropping the subject.
The dark haired woman's next few words seemed to draw Rex out of his little shell however. "Ahh yes, I've dabbled a bit into the human consciousness myself. However..." she paused, trying to think of a polite way to say it, but couldn't really think of a good way to do so. "I hope you don't find me rude or ungentlemanly or dismiss my views, but I've never truly believed in fortune telling or tarot card readers. I mean, I can understand why someone would be so inclined to consider accepting them as a viable source of information and advice but... other then offering halfway decent advice I'd take most fortunes with a grain of salt." Rex smiled politely, hoping Caitlyn would not view this as her being a condescending jerk, as Rex didn't particularly like giving off that impression, at least to members not of her clan.
She cleared her throat with a slightly feminine cough. "By the by, are you planning to stay for the next showing of this Fully Alive film?" She spoke this question in a very plain and 'difficult to read' kind of way, perhaps on purpose. It could have been viewed as either an invitation, a skeptical admonition, or maybe just passing conversation to change the subject.

Caitlyn shrugged. "I'm not going to force you to believe in the Tarot," she said. "Personally, I wouldn't plan m life entirely aorund it, but I do put some stock in my readings, mostly because I've bene right a few too many times in eerie ways." The petite young woman gave Rex a slight smile. "I know that very few people believe in my craft anymore, but if nothing else...the cards a re gorgeous, and my deck is one-of-a-kind as far as I know."
She glanced over at the brochure and shrugged. "I don't really go for sci-fi." She said. "But I might give it a try. Who knows, it might be so lame it's good." She flicked an annoying piece of hair away from her face, her hazel eyes shining with amusement nonetheless. She was trying to figure out exactly how Rex had meant that last statement, and the fact that she couldn't bothered her a bit.

Rex smilled. "Ah yes, the Tarots do tell quite an amazing story." She smirked, slightly familiar with the story. Rex blinked at her next idea, choosing her words very carefully. "However, I'm not sure if I can say the same about this film."
Her eyes looked towards the marquee. "I mean, sure they say not to judge a book by it's cover, but considering the actors involved, Keaneo Reaver, who always plays the same deadpan character, along with that little girl known more for her bad singing then her bad acting on that terrible program... Hailey Jaden or Alexis Texas or some other thing playing the robot girl..."
She blinked, however felt as though she may wish to spend a little time with Caitlyn regardless. And if she was going to see it, perhaps she'd better swallow her pride and agree to see it too. "Perhaps, if you would not mind, maybe we could accompany each other into this film?"

[OOC: I just read over my last post and nearly died. Oh the typos.]
Caitlyn nodded, smiling. "I'm glad you understand," she said, and then her smile curled into a highly amused one. "I have to agree." She said.
She lighlty placed her hand over her heart. "But perhaps they've all magically changed for the purpose of this one film and will return to their previous disgusting mediocrity immediately after," she said, and though her tone and expression seemed serious, she was making a joke. That was how Caitlyn tended to be.
"Hmm," she bit her lip, considering. "Well, it will certianly be more fun to see this piece of lame with someone else," she said. "After all, misery loves company." Now, she was very clearly joking.

Rex bit her lip. (Her own lip, not Caitlyn's. That'd just be kind of weird.) "Well, I guess it's entirely possibly their acting skills have improved."
A light chuckle, it seemed she didn't quite look forward to this movie either. "Then, it seems our plan is made up. Shall we?" Rex opened the door for her, presumably towards the counter to buy the afforementioned tickets into the movie that neither of them wanted to see.

Caitlyn nodded. "Naturally. And I'll be looking for flying pigs and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse." She said, her tone entirely serious.
She looked a little surprised. "Huh. Well, on the upside, it can't possibly be worse than Water World." She said. "Alright, let's go." She agreed, stepping into the theater. She was a little surprised when Rex held the door for her, but then again, everything he had said and done up until then indicated a very old-time set of values.

Rex blinked at the last remark. "Err... not familiar with Water World. Is that the one with the mermaid who gives up her voice to become human by Walter Sidney?" It'd be a shame if that was what she was talking about, considering Rex counted it in one of her top ten films of all time.
They, presumably, continued their casual conversation until they reached the counter. Rex paid for her own ticket, not even remotely thinking of paying for Caitlyn's ticket.

Cailtyn shook her head. "No, that would be The Little Mermaid. Water World was a horrendous global-warming-hysteria postapocalyptic film about an Earth that has had civilization wiped out by major floods and all the issues that the now-regressed people have to face. Really a piece of junk." She shrugged. "Anything by Walter Sidney, however, is automatically amazing."
She looked a bit amused as Rex bought her own ticket, paying for herself. She would likely have insisted anyway, and she had some cash on hand, so it was no big deal.

"Sorry, I'm not familiar with recent works." Rex said with a shrug, assuming 'Water World' to be a recent film.
Had she know the movie was actually made over a thousand years ago... well she'd probably wonder why Caitlyn decided to look into a film that was only remembered for be the biggest Hollywood financial failure until 2018, with the release of 'Brokeback Mountain 3: Horsing Around'. It's exactly what you think it is.
"Alright so, it appears the movie is playing in Theater Number 4." Rex looked over her ticket, before pausing as she came to a realization. "You don't want any popcorn or other concessions... right?"
