Emma was sitting in the library at school, curled up in one of the chairs as she was going through a bit of last minute homework for her history class. It was early in the morning and school hadn't started just yet, and she figured it'd be a good idea to be in a quiet area to work. It didn't take long and she stuffed the papers back into her bag. She didn't want to leave the library just yet, she liked the silence. It was peaceful and calm. She was tempted to pick up a book actually, there was still plenty of time before she had to go to class...

Daemon had his nose tucked into a book as he walked around the corner and went to his usual corner. He lifted his head as he started to sit down. His lips curled up into a smile as he sat down. "Good morning Emma." he greeted cheerfully but quietly enough for the library. He was surprised to see her out and about so early but he couldn't complain. He was happy to see her, he always was, but now that she considered him a friend... well, it just made seeing her better.

Emma looked around when she heard her name, smiling when she saw who it had come from. "Hey Daemon, you're up here early too I see." she kept her voice on the quiet side like he was, the last thing she wanted was to get kicked out of the library for now. She glanced at the book he had and pointed to it. "What'cha reading?" she asked curiously.

"I'm a morning person." Daemon said with a shrug. He scratched the back of his head embarrassed as he showed the book. "It's a bit of a guilty pleasure." he admitted. The book was one of those young adult novels. He didn't read them often, but sometimes he got a random urge to read them. He wouldn't admit it but he was a bit of a hopeless romantic.

Emma laughed quietly as she got a better look at it. "Nothing wrong with that." she assured him. "I think it's cute, you don't see guys picking up books like that much, show you got a soft side's all." She already knew that though, just with their hanging out at the dorms not too long ago. The Tora really was a sweetie.

Daemon sat the book down in his lap and shrugged slightly, still embarrassed. His mom had always told him he had a soft side. He felt he got that from her. "Well thank you. What brings you down so early?" He asked, glancing at her lap where closed books sat.

Emma looked at her lap as well before looking back up at Daemon. She shrugged. "Just finished up some homework I forgot to do last night is all, nothing special. I just needed to be somewhere quiet and the library sounded like as good of a place as any." She was done now, so there wasn't much keeping her in the library until Daemon noticed her. She didn't mind though, now that the two were officially friends she liked his company.

Daemon inclined his head in understanding. "Well the library is always a good place when you want silence. I come here several times a week, studying, reading," he held up the book and shrugged. "I think it's one of my favorite places in this school. Not too many students come here, so that makes it better." he replied, finding himself rambling a bit. He wasn't used to talking to Emma conversationally without being blown off or something.

Emma nodded, she couldn't help but smile a little more. She was glad he felt comfortable talking with her despite all the times she'd ignored him in the past. She still felt terrible about it, but he didn't seem to be upset about it, so that was great. "Yep, it's nice here, quiet's always good." She'd thought about bringing Roman in here once or twice but he never seemed interested, which was a bummer. Getting away from the other students at school might have been what he needed to stop getting rattled up so much.

Daemon nodded in agreement. "So, do you need any help on your homework. I tend to be good in classes, plus I've already had a lot of the ones you're probably in." He offered, leaning forward slightly. Now that he was talking to Emma, he wasn't sure what to say, for once in his life. She'd been right when she'd said music said more than words. He definitely felt that was true in moments like these.

Emma laughed and shook her head. "Nah, I finished it just before you got here, I appreciate the offer though." She didn't really have any problems in class, she was a good student so homework was no problem for her. She remembered something and looked back over at him. "That's right, you help tutor students sometimes don't you?" She'd never paid much attention before, but there were times she remembered walking passed a room and seeing him helping a few kids out.

Daemon sat back and shrugged. "There's some underclassman that have some troubles, so I try to help out. Plus the guys on the baseball team have a tendency to ask me for help." He laughed quietly. "They're not the most diligent students but they're still good guys."

Emma rolled her eyes playfully. "Could of fooled me, I've seen some of them in class, and they're not always the nicest of people." They weren't TERRIBLE people by any means, just that some of them tend to get on her nerves with how they would sometimes interrupt the teacher. They weren't the only ones that did it, but it didn't mean she couldn't be irritated a little by it.

Daemon laughed. "Well, I did say they were guys and you should know that some guys tend to be quite a pain to deal with." He teased before getting serious. "But if you ever have trouble with one of them, come to me and I'll help sort them out." Being captain of the baseball team had its perks when it came to keeping some of the guys in line. They were a lot better than some of the guys in the other sports teams at least.

Emma rose an eyebrow at him before giggling to herself and nodding. "Sure, you got it, but it's not like they ever do anything to me personally." She still thought it was adorable how he reacted, so serious. "Anyway, there's no reason to worry, but I'll make sure if something happens you'll be the first to know."
