Emma tilted her head a little. "She's fine I guess, we don't really hang out much these days... Why you ask?" She hadn't heard anything happening with Perri lately, Anya would know better than she would. Her and her blonde cousin were practically polar opposites, so there was good reason for that.

"I feel guilty about what happened to her. If I had stopped Artemis before she said anything, maybe the incident in the cafeteria wouldn't have happened." Daemon replied, shrugging slightly. He had a habit of shouldering the guilt for things his sister and father did, he just couldn't shake himself of it. "I know she and Roman didn't have the best relationship before, I just hoped my sister hadn't ruined it completely."

Emma was confused, she hadn't heard about anything happening to Perri at school. They had the same lunch, but they sat on completely different sides of the cafeteria if she remembered right. "Daemon, I... don't know what you're talking about, what did Artemis say?" Her three cousins had a tendency to hide stuff from the rest of the family at times, but what was so bad that it would make Perri and Roman worse with each other?

Daemon's hands stilled, cutting off the melody he was playing. He glanced up at Emma's confused face and blanched. "You don't know." he breathed as his face paled. He looked away and closed his eyes, fresh guilt flowing through him. "I thought... I thought you would know since they're your cousins." He groaned and laid his head against the wood of the piano before him. "I won't lie to you Emma, but I don't want to tell you." he admitted guiltily.

Emma frowned. "Well yeah, but it's not like we hang out everyday either." She was starting to worry now. "You're scaring me... Is something wrong with Perri?" The blond was her cousin, and even though they hadn't interacted much lately she was still family. What could be so bad that Daemon didn't want to tell her?

Daemon sat up and sighed. "She wasn't hurt or anything, not physically. Artemis... revealed things Perri was hiding, in front of Roman, Anya and another girl, Perri's girlfriend I think. I wasn't able to stop Artemis before she said it, but when I saw them last Roman and Anya weren't happy with Perri." He remembered the blonde's tears and looked at his hands. "Artemis was cruel. She should have never said anything."

Emma wasn't so shocked about the girlfriend thing, they had just found out about her recently and she seemed really nice by how they had described her. Everything else though, well she was still lost. "Well, whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be fine." She assured him. "We're a forgiving family, I think you've realized that by now."
After hearing the things that had happened with her family in the past, what was there that Perri could do that was so bad? As much as she wanted to know WHAT Daemon was talking about, she could see how uncomfortable with the topic he was getting and decided that she wouldn't press it on him anymore, she could always talk to Anya later and figure it out from there.

Daemon nodded. "I hope you're right." He said quietly, desperately hoping his sister hadn't ruined the Megumi family like his father had with the Kings. Daemon was grateful that Emma wasn't pressing to find out what it was Artemis had said. He shouldn't have even said anything in the first place, it wasn't his right. He chuckled to himself lightly. "It's your family and yet here you are reassuring me." He looked up at her and smiled adoringly. "You're an amazing person."

Emma blushed and laughed a little as she scratched her head. "Oh, I-I just don't like seeing people upset is all." She insisted, stuttering a little at first. She hadn't felt so flustered since she had gone out with Hajime a few days ago. "Nothing special, really!" She put her hands back on the keys of the piano and focused her attention on them.

Daemon looked back at the keys with an awed smile. He actually made her blush. He did that! "No need to be modest, it's the truth." he told her as he placed his fingers back on the keys. "Can I play you something?" he asked, glancing over at her. "It's something I've been working on for a while, nobody else has heard it yet." He wouldn't tell her, but the song was for her. He didn't want to scare her off by telling her that.

Emma glanced back up at him, another song he made? How good was this guy? She took her hand off the keys and nodded, still trying to get rid of the blush on her face. "Sure, go ahead, I love hearing people play." she smiled softly.

"Alright, now just stay there, gotta move the seat a little." Daemon said as he stood and scooted the piano bench down so he'd be more centered. He'd never played with anyone else sitting at the bench, this was a fist. He sat back down and smiled at Emma before placing his fingers on the keys. His eyes slid shut as he started to play. It was a soft slow melody, one he felt fit Emma.

Emma listened to Daemon play, occasionally looking from his hands on the piano to his face. He seemed calm, it was obvious he'd had this memorized, which meant that he had played it plenty of times, right? Whatever it was though, it was beautiful. She looked back down at the keys of the piano as he played, smiling the whole time, he really had a gift.

Daemon finished off the song but couldn't stop playing, so he morphed the end into the beginning of another song he'd been practicing for a while. It was one he'd heard before and he couldn't get it out of his head so he started to play it. "I didn't write this, so you might have heard of it." he said as he morphed into it. He thought of Emma when he played this one, so it was fitting. (just so you know what the second one is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJInGGAPZgI )

Emma couldn't help but start giggling when she heard the next song, she knew this one!! "Oh this one's my favorite!" she exclaimed quietly so to still hear him play. Her feet tapped along with it excitedly, swaying a little to the music with a smile on her face. It was such a pretty song.
