It was another quiet day in the transitions months between winter and spring. The air still had a slight, chilly sting, but overall it was noticeably warmer. The sky was sunny for the most part, save for a few strangling clouds that lazily gathered in the distance. They were dark and fluffy, maybe rain clouds, but even if there was a storm it was a long way off.
Yukiko was leaning up against a tree trunk, right around were the flat, grassy fields and worn down paths gave way to thickets and trees at the edge of the forest. She'd planned to meet Theo here, but had arrived a little earlier. The forest had been a good idea to her. From what she had gathered in the time she had known the shy Tora boy he preferred quieter places, not unlike herself. So she figured she'd just meet him here and they could do... well whatever they were going to do. Yukiko had never been good at planning ahead.

Theo hummed as he made his way over to the forest. He was a little early, but that was alright. He liked being early for things, it made it all much much easier to plan about what to do. He and Yukiko hadn't really made any actual plans, and he wanted to do something fun with her.
Karter was cursing to himself. How had this happened? With his luck, Theo would wind up finding leftover knives from the fight with Mikka! He hadn't had time to clean up afterwards... He'd have to take over when they got close. Risky, since he wasn't good at imitating Theo, but necessary.

Yukiko straightened up and dusted herself off when she saw her friend approach. When he drew nearer she gave a little wave. "Hey," she called brightly. "I guess we're both a little early today, huh?" On the days the Ookami met with Theo was seemed notably livelier and more cheerful. The simple concept of having something to look forward to every once in a while was enough to keep the young girl quite optimistic. Though, it wasn't enitrely without worry.
Yukiko had, in a way, promised Theo she'd look out for him after all. So naturally she was always thr tiniest bit concerned for him, as all people were with things they cared about. Although there were underlying causes as well. Just strange feelings, odd sensations she got when something the tiniest bit abnormal happens around the pair. Nothing serious... Just the notion that something as off... But she would try not to dwell on it today.

Theo smiled and nodded. "Y-yeah... I guess... Um, is that bad?" He asked, not sure if the time had really mattered or not. Maybe Yuki HAD planned something and just wanted to surprise him... Yuki seemed friendly and nice enough that that could be a possibility. Still, he had found out over the past months that she wasn't the best at planning things out.
Karter decided to stay quiet, perhaps he'd get lucky and they wouldn't even go near the battleground.... Maybe...

"No! Not at all." She smiled and waved her hands over her chest as if to physically bat any negative assumptions away. "I just though it was kind of funny, or a little ironic... I'm not sure." The Ookami shifted her large green eyes sideways, scratching her chin with an awkward grin.

"O-oh, alright." Theo smiled, hands clasped behind him out of habit. "S-so do you just wanna e-explore o-or is there, uh... something else?" He doubted that Yuki actually had anything planned, but there was always a possibility. Still, best to offer up exploring as an idea just in case, they could always just wander around and talk until something else came along for them to do.

"Just exploring sounds good," the Ookami answered brightly. "I didn't really plan anything, but we can always improvise." Besides, she was looking forward to just catching up. While nothing major really happened to Yukiko in awhile, it still made her happy to be able to share the little things with someone who actually wanted to listen (or at least she hoped Theo did, otherwise she was probably boring him to death).

"A-alright." Theo said with a smile, "L-let's head this way f-first though... I... I found a good spot a-awhile back..." If they were going to explore, he should probably take Yuki to his sanctuary first. "I-It's really nice, I think you'll l-like it..." He took the other's hand to lead her deep into the woods, after all it wouldn't do if she got lost, right? She had been looking out for him a lot these past months, it was only fair he try his best to return the favor.

Yukiko allowed Theo to lead her forward, careful not to trip or stumble over an of the random branches and vegetation. A gentle grin made his way onto her face and stuck there, evidence of her cheerfulness. She did not speak however; just smiled and walked.

Karter began to panic as he realized exactly where his other side was taking Yukiko. This was bad, this was REALLY bad... Theo COULDN'T see that! It would be hugely detrimental! The concussion had erased any memories of the fight Theo MAY have had, but that didn't mean that he wanted Theo to see any of that... Looks like he had no choice...
He crept to the forefront of Theo's mind. He'd try give the teen some of the memories from this excursion, but that was easier said than done, and odds were good that Theo would have no recollection of today after meeting Yuki.
"You know what?" Karter said, attempting to keep his voice as soft as Theo's typically was. "This isn't anything that important."

Yukiko's eyelids fluttered rapidly in confusion. Although it may have been quick a subtle, but she had noticed a sort of change in her companion. It was a small something she had gradually begun to pick up on the more time she spent around Theo. Just mentions of black outs, or something seemingly unimportant... But the Ookami was still growing suspicious.
"But you were so excited a second ago." She laughed half-heartedly.

"It's really nothing though." Karter was finding it difficult to keep his voice like Theo's typical tone. He had far too much confidence to truly stand-in for the boy, and he was too harsh where Theo was skittish. Problems? Yes. Impossibilities? ...Maybe. "L-let's go this way instead." He persisted, attempting to usher Yuki toward another area of the forest.

"Okay..." Yukiko didn't protest as she was led in the opposite direction; mostly due to the fact that she doubted she would be able to hide the suspicion in her voice if she said anything else. Theo was, for some reason, starting to sound very un-Theo-y. Again, it was a nagging feeling the Ookami couldn't quite place, but it was there...
Her large green eyes studied the Tora intensly, searching for something to either prove or disprove her worries. An abnormality or a lack therof. But she was having trouble finding either.

Karter nearly sighed in relief. He'd probably have to stay in control until they left the woods so Theo didn't fall prey to any questions that needn't be directed at him. It would just cause him more stress, Karter was certain. It was for the best that the boy stay asleep... "Sorry but that part of the woods is stupid anyway, just a big tree." He said. "There's stuff all over the place though." He was probably doing a horrible job of impersonating Theo...

Yukiko stared and stared and stared. Flickers of thoughts and ideas moved in and out of her head like waves, causing her to fall into a thoughtful lapse of silence. Something was wrong. She knew it. For a moment, a pair of faces slid through her memory.. The thought was fleeting, but it was enough to make her slow her pace, narrow her eyes, and bluntly ask, "You're not quite Theo right now... are you?"
