Karter came to a halt and looked at Yukiko, grip loosening on her as he took a good long look at her face. It took less than a second to realize that she knew. He pulled out his butterfly knife, flicking it open and letting the light glint off of its wickedly sharp blade. "No... and if you tell him I will gut you like a fish." He narrowed his eyes at her as he gave his rather blunt statement.

The Ookami's breath stopped in throat as she started at the knife, eyes the size of moons. For a moment all the could think of was how she was alone, screwed, and above all, how she wasn't ready to die just yet.
"H-he doesn't know about you t-then?" Yukiko found it hard to lift her gaze away from the knife, but somehow managed to drag her eyes up to meet the Tora's.

Karter kept his gaze on the Ookami before flicking his knife shut and tucking it away. The girl wasn't a threat. "No, he doesn't. He thinks I'm an imaginary friend he made when he was four and THOUGHT he got rid of..." He smirked. "A bit hard to do that, and he'd be dead without me. To RE-introduce myself, my name is Karter." He actually sort of hoped Yuki remembered him from the Manor. Wouldn't THAT be fun?

Yukiko uttered an audible sigh of relief when the knife was put away. Although she was still uneasy, her anxiety level lowered considerably now that the blade was out of sight. However the gears in her brain were still whirring at her companion's words, trying to fit them together like pieces of a complicated puzzle. At his name, her eyes widened once more in realization.
"You were at the manor..." she half-whispered, suddenly very freaked out.

Karter grinned. "Ding ding ding, we have a winner~!" He sang sarcastically, twirling a finger in the air. "I'm ALMOST surprised that you remember that, really. Almost. You're perhaps the only one in the city that's picked up on the fact that Theo and I are different people." He dropped his finger and looked her over.
"Normally, I wouldn't be carrying on a conversation with you, you'd be dead and gutted by this point... But you're not a threat." Well, actually, he had broken Seishiro's fingers, and he had little use of the Tora until he required funds. After all, just from judging by appearances the man was well-off. Probably a rich family.

That phrase made a little switch in Yukiko's head go off. For all she knew Karter could be all talk, but she doubted it. Which meant...
Oh God, the Ookami thought, somewhat sickened. He's KILLED people. And by the sound of it, a good deal of them. Despite trying to maintain a composed poker face, Yukiko felt one hand shakily cover her mouth. She supposed she should be considering herself lucky that Karter hadn't already killed her, but the feeling of shock pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind.
"You... kill people? You've made Theo kill people." The prior sounded more like a question, whereas the latter was a flat-out statement. Maybe it sounded like an accusation, but the Ookami was too frazzled to do such things quite yet.

Karter sighed. "Calm DOWN, Jesus, I KNEW this was a bad idea..." He folded his arms in front of his chest and looked at Yuki. "I'm glad you have us separate in your mind though, keep that. I'M the one doing the killing, Theo is innocent." He was entirely serious, and he intended to keep it that way. Theo was perhaps the kindest person Karter knew of (not that he knew many good comparisons). "....and really, don't hyperventilate, it would make him sad if you died." Something that the second personality was admittedly a bit jealous about. It was to be expected with Theo's ignorance of his alter-ego, but that didn't mean Karter didn't want his credit.

Despite her fear, Yukiko pulled her hand away and felt herself nod. Of course she thought of them seperately, there was no way the Ookami could even imagine Theo, her shy, innocent Theo, ending someone's life (even if self-defense was a factor). It was an impossibility for her.
Yukiko didn't speak until her breathing and heart rate had normalized. She tried to think about what to say before the words left her mouth, but her brain function was not at full capacity quite yet.
"Just tell me one thing," the Ookami murmured, finally able to meet Karter's gaze head-on and without wavering. "You're doing it for him, right? You're hurting people to protect Theo."

Karter nodded. "Of course. Anything other than that would draw unwanted attention and place him in danger. I want him to be safe, not paranoid." He smiled at the Ookami after a few moments. "Keep looking out for him, would you? It'll let me get a bit more rest." He could use it...

"I..." She stopped, deciding to word her response differently. "Of course I will. I promised I would protect him. That's never going to change." There was an unexpected firmness in the Ookami's tone. In every way possible she planned on keeping the promise she had made to Theo all those months ago. Yukiko had said she would look out for him and she planned on doing just that; despite this unexpected turn of events.

Karter nodded. "Good, good. That'll get a load off of my mind..." He glanced at the forest floor then back to Yuki. "I'm hungry, do you want to get something to eat? We have to kill some time before Theo wakes up properly."

"Um... okay..." Well... things had certainly flip-flopped, hadn't they? Yukiko had gone from momentarily fearing for her life to agreeing to grab a bite to eat with the guy. Grant it, he had said we wasn't going to kill her but she seemed strangely at ease with the fact that there had been other people he had killed. Maybe it hadn't sunk in yet...

Karter nodded and turned. "Good, the Wok shouldn't be too crowded yet, unless you have anyplace else in mind."

"No, that... sounds fine..." This situation had ended up being surprisingly anti-climatic. And, although still a tad anxious, Yukiko wasn't exactly terrified of the man before her. Not as much as she thought she would be anyway.
