Ayumu sat on one of the bleachers at the field, slightly nervous. She stood up to straighten her skirt for a moment and sat back down, started tapping her fingers on her lap a few times, and paused when she realized she must look like a moron sitting there like that. Well, this was what she got for being early, she supposed.
Then again, she wouldn't want to keep Kaito waiting if she were to be a little late, so she'd take herself being a slightly nervous wreck over making him wait. Kaito, her... her boyfriend. Just thinking about it made her blush, it was still a little surprising for her. The blond Tora took a deep breath, she had to relax before her got there, don't want him getting worried or anything.

The day was, in all forms, gorgeous. Clouds drifted through the cerulean sky in fluffy white puffs, moved along by the soft breeze. It wasn't too hot or cold; a perfect medium. Kaito had decided against a jacket today and had instead dressed in a gray Mumford & Sons t-shirt and some jeans. Casual, as always.
The blue-haired Tora glanced up at the sky for a moment as he made his way towards the old soccer field. His heart was tight, as if some sort of invisible fist was squeezing it. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous, he just was. The pure wonder of simply having a girlfriend was still taking its time to sink in.
Kaito spotted Ayumu sitting on the bleachers and quickened his pace. God, he hoped he hadn't kept her waiting or anything. He still wasn't sure how to go about these sorts of things.
"Hey there," he called as he got within hearing range. His lips quirked up at the corners into a small grin. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting."

Ayumu looked up when she heard the familiar voice, smile growing across her lips as she stood to her feet. "Not at all." she giggled. "I just like to be early is all." She made her way over to him and gave him a tight hug. After that, well... what was she suppose to do after that again?
"So how ya been?" she asked innocently. Well, it was the only way she knew how to start a conversation... She just hoped that nothing got awkward for the two of them, the painter wasn't sure how to go about things if that happened.

"Same as always," the Tora replied after the hug. "Well, a little better now that I have something to look forward to." He smiled in the blonde's direction. Somehow getting through the day was less mundane when he was able to count those hours down to something. Before he'd just kill time by sleeping as much as possible.
Kaito decided against mentioning the little "run-in" he'd had with Persephone not too long ago, seeing as the topic of dragging an old deliquent friend to the hospital after she'd been shot was probably inappropriate to bring up on a date.

Ayumu blushed a little more at his comment. "Glad to be of service." she giggled. "I've noticed my brother's been making friends lately so I actually have plenty of time on my hands these days." Well, she hadn't met any of Kyou's 'friends', she's just noticed he'd been out more and more these days. She didn't question it though, it was good for him to hang out with more people than just her. The blond took Kaito's hand in hers and swung it back and forth gently, she'd seen people in movies do it and it looked so cute, so she wanted to try.

Kaito was suddenly overcome with the knowledge of just how adorable Ayumu was. She seemed so sweet and innocent, he almost felt as though he was polluting her with his very presence. But this once he would be selfish, he suppossed.
"So," he chimed after a quick pause, "is there anything in particular you'd like to do on this fine day?" His tone was formal and gentlemen-like, but still warm.

Ayumu giggled. "Well I don't know, today just seems too nice not to admire it." She paused for a second and frowned slightly as she noticed a soccer ball not too far off. They could have played a little soccer, if she wasn't wearing a skirt. She tugged at it slightly as she thought about it. Well, that was one idea out the window, but what else was there to do at a soccer field without making things too boring?

"We'll just make our own fun," Kaito suggested when he noticed the blonde tugging on her skirt. Let's see... what to do? There was probably a whole assorment of entertainment available to someone with some inkling of imagination.
The Tora fell back onto the soft ground and plucked a blade of grass. He gazed at it with a massive about of concentration as he attempted to line it up between his thumbs.
"I used to know how to make whistles out of these," he murmured, hoping he still was capable of such a task. Otherwise he'd probably look like an idiot.

Ayumu sat down beside Kaito and watched him for a moment. She looked down at the ground and plucked out a blade of grass like he did and played with it for a little while. "How do you do that?" she asked him, looking back in his direction.

Kaito set down his blade in order to help Ayumu with hers. He leaned over her shoulder, gently using his hands to postion her fingers correctly; thumbs together with the grass sitting snuggly in between.
"You tuck the grass between your thumbs like this," he stated as he adjusted her hands, "and then you blow right her." The Tora indicated to the small gap in between her fingers. "It should make a sort of whislting sound. Should being the key word." He grinned slyly and plucked another piece of grass.

Ayumu blushed a little as he helped her, biting her lip to keep from smiling too odd. She giggled at his explanation and nodded. "Should, I gotcha." she laughed before she tried to blow in the spot Kaito pointed to. There was a small whistling sound, not a loud one by any means, but there was a whistle. It made her laugh a little more, she hadn't tried doing this before, it was fun.

Kaito was somewhat impressed. It had, although he was ashamed to admit it, taken him a good year to finally get the hang of making a "grass whistle." And here Ayumu had gotten something on her first try.
The Tora held his thumbs to his mouth and blew. There was a semi-whistling sound, but it was barely audible and went in and out like a radio with terrible reception. The second time there wasn't any noise at all.
"It seems I've lost my touch," Kaito observed, twirling the blade of grass between his fingers.

Ayumu blinked and smiled at Kaito's attempt. "It'll come back." she assured him, trying to blow into it once again. The whistle was still tiny, but again, it was better than nothing. "It's not that hard, I'm sure you'd get it again after a couple more tries." she smiled softly.

"One can only hope." Kaito tried again, but to no avail. Finally, after another attempt there was a loud, high-pitched whistling sound. The Tora grinned, pleased with himself. "Yes, success!" He cried, quite happy with the results.

Ayumu clapped a little when he finally made the whistle. "There we go! I knew you'd do it!" she cheered. "... Now if I could only get mine to get that loud." she grinned, trying to blow into it again. It was a little better, but still wasn't quite as loud as Kaito had made his sound just now.
