Aiden clenched his hands into tiny fists, fingers digging hard into his palms. The Principal looked from Eva, to him, and back again before addressing the secretary. "Thank you Janine, that will be all for now." The secretary nodded and released her hold on the pair, shutting the door as she left the room. The kindergartener could practically feel his life being sealed away with it. That was it. Done. The sense of impending doom was thick and curled around him like a python, squeezing tight allowing no escape.
Principal Tanaka gestured to a pair of chairs in front of his desk, "Please, sit." He said, a tinge of something, Aiden wasn't sure what, oozed through the words. He didn't care what happened when he got home, Aiden just wanted his Daddy right now. He tried hard not to show it though, he had to try and be brave for Eva. He couldn't expect a girl to be brave for him when there was something this scary after all. It was a job for a boy.

Eva hesitantly went to one of the chairs and sat down again, hands fiddling with the end of her dress to give them something to do. She looked down at her lap, wanting to avoid Principal Tanaka's eyes as much as possible. She really wanted her brothers right now, Lucas and Anthony always seemed to know what to do when she was scared.
Principal Tanaka kept his eyes on the two for a little longer, only making things worse for the blond five-year-old. He finally spoke after a while. "So what was this fight I heard about?"
Without missing a beat, Eva looked up to him, hands still playing with the end of her dress nervously. "I-it was all my fault! I pushed him first!" She had to tell the truth, and maybe Aiden wouldn't get into too much trouble if she insisted it was her fault from the beginning. She didn't like her friends getting into trouble, it was a trait she would be sure to keep with her forever.

Tanaka raised a brow, obvious surprised by the seemingly timid young girl's willingness to take the blame. He found it a bit adorable, actually. Then the young boy spoke up. "I pushed back though... and I bit her..." He looked down a little as he spoke and the man could feel his breathing quicken a little. They were both so cute... the boy was a bit scuffed up but the bruises would heal, as would the girl's arm... and it was always good to have something he could dangle over a student's head...
Aiden didn't like the looks they were getting and he glanced over to Eva. Was she picking up on any changes in the principal that he wasn't seeing? His train of thought was quickly interrupted by a small cough by the principal. "Aiden, Eva," He said with a smile, only serving to send a chill down Aiden's spine. "I'd like to make you both a deal..." He practically purred this and the brunette fidgeted uncomfortably.

Eva tugged her dress down passed her knees she was so nervous. A deal? That was good right? She wasn't too sure, the way he said it made her skin crawl. "Wha...?" she asked slowly, starting to feel her stomach turn.
The principal chuckled a little. "You don't want me telling your parents, now do you?" she shook her head. "Well then, that can be arranged, but you two have to do something for me." Eva glanced over at Aiden, wondering what he might have been thinking about this. She didn't like how Principal Tanaka had said that last part, she even felt tears start to form in the corner of her eyes. Where was Lucas when she needed him?

Mr. Tanaka smiled at the pair. They really were too cute... "Well, for now I'll simply leave it as a debt to be owed, alright? We can see about paying that off when the time comes. But you can't tell your parents, keep that in mind. I'm sure they'd be very disappointed in you both." He'd send them to the nurse and have her write up an excuse for an accident during gym to explain the bruises and whatnot. He wanted them to be at their best when he received his 'pay.'
Aiden looked at the Principal a bit suspiciously, not entirely believing what he was hearing. "And we don't get in trouble at all..?" He asked, trying to figure out the why. He wasn't sure if he wanted to have this guy be able to dangle something over his head later. It wasn't a good idea.

Mr. Tanaka looked back at Aiden, still smiling. "Not at all, so long as you don't tell anyone, that is." he looked back to Eva, who was making an attempt to pull her tears back before they started to fall. "It'll just be our little secret, how's that sound?"
Eva didn't agree nor disagree. She wasn't sure how to respond, and settled with not talking at all and just focusing on not crying. He'd let them leave now, right? She hoped he would, she just wanted to get out and go to her class and forget about this. Even though something was telling her this wouldn't be the end of it. No, as long as they had that 'debt' to pay, this feeling wouldn't be leaving anytime soon.

Aiden got up from his chair in a rare moment of boldness in front of the principal. "Then we're gonna go, okay?" He said, though his voice wasn't quite as strong as he had wished as he took Eva's hand to lead her from the room.
The principal merely nodded. "Stop by the nurse though, she'll take very good care of you."

Eva gripped Aiden's hand as he lead her out of the office, still tugging on her dress with her free hand. Man, she really wanted to show off how brave she could be, but ended up turning into a big cry baby! When they walked out and the office door was shut completely, the blond look back to Aiden. She was still shaking, but she had started to calm down, that was always good. "Wh-what do ya think he meant by payin' him back?" she asked him, starting to let go of her already stretched out dress. She thought about letting go of Aiden's hand, but decided against it, it was comforting to her.

Aiden shook his head. "I dunno..." He paused as they made their way down a hall toward the nurse. "I don't like it here anymore..." He admitted the last part more quietly. He'd try and not go, but then he'd have to face his Daddy about what he had done today, and he wasn't sure if he'd be believed about the principal being so weird and scary...

Eva nodded her head. "Me either..." she agreed just as quiet. She'd normally be able to tell Lucas if she was upset about something, but this was different. If she were to tell him, he'd probably either talk to their mom about it(which she KNEW right away wouldn't end well), or just go to the school and find out for himself, which didn't seem like a good idea either. They were trapped, to be perfectly honest.
"Hey, Aiden?" she asked, muttering a little. "We're still friends, right? Even if it was my fault this happen?" Aiden WAS the only friend she had made at the school so far, and the only one that would know about the whole thing with Tanaka since he was part of it, too.

Aiden thought for a moment and nodded. "Yeah, we're still friends." He said as they came across the right door. He knew it was the nurse's office 'cuz it looked small and there was a picture of a band-aid and medicine on the front of the door. He was glad, he couldn't read what the letters on the window said anyway. He knocked on the door, his Mama had always said that that was what you had to do, and waited for the nurse to answer.

Eva let go of Aiden's hand when she heard the door click and open. She didn't want anyone to see them holding hands, the kids would pick on her, she was almost sure of it.
The nurse looked about in her mid thirties, was a little shorter than most of the other grown ups. Her blond hair was pulled back in a pony tail and she had a smile that made Eva feel much more comfortable than the principal's. "Well hey there." she said to the two. "Mr. Tanaka told me to be expecting you two, come on in. I'm Nurse Stinnson, by the way."
Eva nodded and entered the small room, sitting down on a near by chair. The nurse seemed to be a lot nicer than Mr. Tanaka, but the little blond kept her guard up in case she decided to randomly turn into some scary monster.

Aiden sat in one of three chairs lined up against the wall of the room, just a little ways away from a desk, a table, a few beds, and the chair Eva sat in. He guessed the one he was in was a waiting chair of sorts. Ladies were supposed to go first, and while he wasn't sure if Eva was really a lady he figured it wouldn't hurt to let her go first.
"Alright then," Nurse Stinnson said, beginning to check Eva over. "Principal Tanaka said something about an accident during gym?" The girl didn't seem to banged up, though there was a mark on her arm that was starting to bruise. She smiled as she looked it over. "Why this is hardly anything to be worried about, dear, a few days and you'll be right as rain just wait and see." She began writing out a note for the blond. "Would you like some ice for it?" She said, looking up from filling out her form.

Eva shook her head when she asked if she wanted ice. "I'm okay." she told the nurse with a little smile. If it started to get too bad she knew Anthony would know what to do about it when she got home.
Nurse Stinnson nodded and handed Eva her note to her and moved onto the boy, who had more bruises on him than just the one on Eva. "Well, you've got a bit more bruises, but you'll be perfectly fine after a couple of days, too." she told Aiden as she went to fill out his note. "So what were y'all doing that got ya banged up?" she asked curiously.

Aiden responded with the only game he knew of that could potentially get a person this banged up if they tripped or something. "Kickball." He supplied, "I tripped while I was running to catch the ball and knocked into her..." He felt bad about lying, but he was scared that if he went against what Principal Tanaka had set up then he'd get in even bigger trouble.
