"You don't have to apologize," Locke said, placing a hand on Lynn's shoulder. "It's not like you caused any of it to happen." Deciding that it would probably be a little more fruitful to change the topic, the albino searched her mind and came up with something. "Anyway... do you have any cards that you're thinking of Dueling with?" Not very likely to be a good swerve, but it was as good a chance as any, Locke supposed.

Lynn shrugged her shoulders as the topic was changed, though she still felt a bit bad for Locke. "I'm thinking fairies or insects, the clan gave me a warrior deck and I don't like it very much." She pouted a bit at the thought. Not to mention that she didn't have any high-level monsters. The strongest was six stars, and she had seen cards with many more.

Locke shuffled through her knowledge of Duel Monsters cards, going first through Fairy and Insect archetypes, and then through the attempt at an Insect mill Deck she had been experimenting with at one point.
"Lynn, what about Machines?" suggested the albino. "There are plenty of Machine archetypes that might suit you. The Morphtronics are rather fun, and I've heard there's a set called... Karakuri, I believe. They're based on little puppets."

Lynn thought it over for a bit. She had been mulling over machines for a bit but dismissed them after a bit in favor of her beloved bugs. Now that she though about it though, some machines could be kinda cute, that is, if old news feeds were to be trusted. "Puppets?" She asked, smiling a bit, "They sound cute, are they easy to use?" Considering how low her skill was, she needed something simple.

"From what I understand, if you've got the right cards, they practically play themselves," Locke answered as truthfully as she could. "You don't even need to hunt down much Spell and Trap support. There's quite a bit for Machines, you know." It would be best if Locke could teach Lynn more about Dueling. Michael was a nice enough guy, but if he Dueled like he fought, the little Ookami wouldn't have muc to gain from watching him.

Lynn smiled. This just got better and better! Now all she had to do was collect the little things and she'd be good to go! Well... and she had to learn how to duel better, but she could learn! "Will you help?" She asked suddenly. "I wanna surprise Mike." And she did, with how much he valued dueling, she thought it was the perfect idea!

"Of course I'll help!" said Locke with a big smile, her visible eye sparkling. "I happen to know a lot of people who like to collect and trade cards. Once we track down what you need, you and I can have a few practice Duels. Before you know it, you'll be the Ookami clan's secret weapon! Cute on the outside, but a deadly Duelist with a burning heart." What surprised the albino was that she believed it herself. Normally, she'd pep-talk any weakling, if it would boost their confidence enough to fight. This was simply because Locke just couldn't stand people who couldn't stand up for themselves. However, she truly thought Lynn had a lot of hidden strength that could be unleashed with the right conditioning.

Lynn simply blushed. The clan's secret weapon? She doubted that she'd get that good, but it was nice to dream. "I guess I can always hope," She said after a moment of just blushing as she poked her fingers together. "But I don't know about being that good..." Oh yes, the little Ookami had confidence issues.

"Hope is good," Locke remarked. "However, there's something even better. That something is confidence, my dear, and trust me; by the time I'm done, you'll have more of it than you've ever dreamed."

Lynn glanced down, the poking of her index fingers not stopping and entirely unsure of how to respond. "If you say so..." She said finally, folding her hands on her lap.

Locke's visible eye rolled as she crossed her arms across her chest. She was a little discouraged, but anyone who was stubborn enough to continualy deny having confidence possessed enough strength to build confidence.
"Clearly, we need to start as soon as possible," the albino remarked. "Tell ya what; I'll hunt down some cards, and we'll meet sometime to start your training. Is there a way I can contact you when I'm done building your practice Deck?"

Lynn nodded. "I have a cellphone, if that works..." She glanced around for a pen and something to write the number down on. "Um... do you happen to see a pen, Locke?" A napkin would work well enough as paper, but she didn't see anything to write with.

Before Lynn had asked, Locke was holding the pen out to her. She had discreetly snatched it from behind the counter while the Ookami was looking around for said writing instrument.
"Here you are, dear," said the albino with a smilek that slightly betrayed the mischief behind it. Should Lynn ask, Locke had a whole lineup of funny answers for her.

Lynn blinked and took the pen gratefully, "Where did you..?" She began to ask, trailing off when she saw the look on Locke's face. Was that a good look? She wasn't sure, it wasn't a bad look, per say, but she wasn't sure if it was a good idea to finish her question. Still, while it was unfinished, it hadn't remained unasked. The damage was done and now she just had to see the result.

"I always keep one on me," Locke answered simply. If Lynn asked further (unfortunately, she probably wouldn't), the albino would try saying that she kept it in her hair. Of course, the little Ookami's first impression of Locke would most likely lead her to think that she kept it elsewhere.
