Locke smiled again and patted Lynn on the head before standing up.
"Honey, if it'll help you feel better, than I'll buy you a sundae as big as you are," the albino replied, reaching down to help her new acquaintance up. She had considered saying 'a sundae as big as my breasts', but that probably would cause a regression rather than make Lynn laugh.

Lynn gave her a bright smile and a quick bow like she had been taught. "Thank you Locke!" She chirped politely. She thought she had seen a few ice cream shops on the boardwalk so she picked up her book and towel and stowed them in her bag. "Can we go get it right now?" The unsaid question of 'or would you prefer getting your swimsuit fixed first?' ringing in her head.

Locke looked down at Lynn, then scanned the beach. There were no potential crazies between here and her towel, which wasn't a great distance, so it seemed the condition was fine for getting dressed and going to get a treat.
"Let me just go change real quick," answered the albino as she reached down and removed the bottom piece of her bikini. Hopefully, this wouldn't cause the little blunette to freak out again. Although... she was kinda cute when she was like that...

Lynn shut her eyes, trying to give Locke as much privacy as she could. After all, she wouldn't want people staring at her if it was her in that situation instead of the albino.

Locke walked the short distance to her belongings, stopping halfway to scold a redhead boy who then recieved a pointed look from his own albino companion. The Tora made quick work of dressing in her normal swimsuit, the red one-piece suit she used for aquatic training. After walking back to Lynn, the albino placed a hand on the Ookami's shoulder.
"C'mon, Lynn," she said, moving toward the boardwalk. "It's safe to look now." It was amazing how effective the simple offer of ice cream seemed to be on the blue-haired teenager. Locke stared off into space, thinking that perhaps this could be the start of an interesting friendship.

Lynn opened her eyes and followed after Locke, not minding the hand on her shoulder now that they had been introduced. Aside from that, the allure of a strawberry ice cream cone or a hot fudge sundae outweighed any displeasure over the contact.

Locke guided Lynn toward one of the larger ice cream shops on the boardwalk, located more on the sand than on the wooden boardwalk. As far as the albino could tell, the shop didn't even have a name. She stepped forward and held the door open for her Ookami companion.
"Beauty before age, Lynn," offered Locke with a playful smile. She would have winked, but there was always that chance of scaring the blunette again.

Lynn giggled and practically skipped into the building. She'd have to remember this place and tell Mike, he seemed like the type to like ice cream. She hopped up onto one of the spinning stools by a bar/counter and waited for Locke, swinging her feet all the while.

Locke followed Lynn and took a seat next to her. Shortly after they were seated, a skinny teenage boy with very short brown hair approached them from behind the counter. A nametag on the boy's yellow shirt read: 'Hello, my name is:', and the name 'Dylan' was scrawled in the blank space.
"Uh, hello..." he said, apparently not really the clerk type. "What can I get you today?" Locke looked down at Lynn and then at Dylan.
"Well, I think I'll have a double-scoop of the green tea ice cream," she answered with a smile.
"What about for you?" Dylan asked the little Ookami.

Lynn glanced up at the menu. "Can I have a banana split please?" It seemed to be perfect, and kinda outweighed the hot fudge sundae by promising three different kinds of ice cream.

"Uh, okay," consented Dylan. He turned around and went to work with the ice cream, considering he appeared to be the only one on the job that day. However, it was soon clear why he was trusted alone. Within virtually a minute, the thin Kuma had the ice cream ready and in front of the girls. "Enjoy," he said quietly. Locke thanked him and handed him a generous amount of money.
"Keep the change, sweetheart," offered Locke before taking a bite of her ice cream. "So, Lynn," she said. "What book was that you were reading on the beach?"

Lynn dug into her split with vigor, though she managed to stay relatively clean despite that. Swallowing her second bite she answered the question. "The first of the Mistmantle Chronicles." She said, resuming her split eating.

Locke took another bite of her green tea ice cream and looked at Lynn, her expression showing intrigue.
"How is it so far?" asked the albino. "I've never heard of it, but I do love a good book. What's it about?" It seemed as though Locke was managing to hit it off well with Lynn. If she was lucky, maybe all that rape stuff would be behind them soon.

Lynn thought for a moment, scooping up another bite of the delectable frozen treat and popping it into her waiting mouth before answering. "It's not bad, pretty whimsical I suppose so I dunno if you'd like it..." She said shyly, a bit embarrassed to talk about the book. She didn't like it when people looked down simply because it wasn't an adult novel.
She decided to continue on, it wouldn't be polite to leave one of Locke's questions unanswered. "It's about an island of animals, and the prince has been murdered and a trusted captain of the guard has been exiled. Urchin, a squirrel and the main character, is out to prove that the captain wasn't the one who did it." The shy little Ookami took another bit of her split, deciding to terminate the summary there, for it was as far as she had gotten.

Locke thought over Lynn's explanation as she took a couple more bites of her ice cream. She tapped the spoon on her upper lip before replying.
"It sounds like a very interesting book," the albino said. "You shouldn't be ashamed of what you read, you know. Would you believe I read Harry Potter? I suppose it's not hard to believe, since you don't know me all that well yet. What you don't know is that I'm somewhat of a realist. Nothing goes without a logical explanation."
