The music was pounding, the lights flashing, Zolanius drinking by the bar watching something on a television supended in the air. He couldn't hear it, so he really paid no mind. He was still wearing his perfectly round black shades so to avoid eye-contact with those who are easily angered. Sitting on a stool, his coat was draped over the stool as he was leaning on the counter. He wasn't much for dancing, he just enjoyed the music. Getting past the bouncer was easy enough.Zolanius always had a way with words, and telling alittle white lie, such as being the brother of the owner of the building, was perfectly acceptable.
With him were the spirits of the three light heralds. The Herald of Orange Light was the one who didnt seems to enjoy impracticallity. The Herald of Green Light was always an optimist, and the Herald of Purple Light never watched it's "mouth", for lack of a better term. "I wish you hadn't have done that. What if somebody finds out you lied!?" "Stop being a wuss and have some fun! That bouncer guy probably forgot about us by now." "We shouldn't be here not only because he lied, but there is nothing for us here! This is just a waste of time..." "Guys, guys! I can't think! I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be doing, so just let me think!"
" You're boring!" That's when Zolanius went and said aloud "Would you shut up!" A man sitting beside him gave him a rather strange look, then decided to sit another two stools down. Yup, Zolanius was here, looking crazy, and he's bored.

Tekka sauntered her way through the door, slipping the bouncer a nice tip to get in. Typically it wasn't heavily guarded, there must have been a good band or a fancy aristocrat. Or maybe they had become aware of their delicate situation in the clan territories and decided to hire a bit of protection. Either way, Tekka was a bit peeved at her loss of funds.
Still, she was in now. Time to do what she did best and lift a little cash from unwary citizens.
Tilting her fedora just-so, the blond Tora walked about. To an untrained eye she appeared to be mingling, to anyone that knew her as a thief, the girl was just working the crowd. Soon enough a yell made its way to her ears and she glanced to the source.
There was a man, light haired and in his early twenties with an unguarded jacket, sitting at the bar who appeared to be yelling at thin air. Tekka blinked and rubbed her eyes, looking again just to be sure. Three orbs of colored light were hovering around him. "Duel spirits?" She said to herself, an affirming growl from Great Maju Garzette confirmed her thought as well as a nod from Gorz.
Tekka wasn't able to tell any details, as was usually the case with monsters of people she didn't know well, but there was DEFINITELY something there. The blond shook her head and moved forward to snatch a few spare dollars from his pocket. Hopefully his monsters wouldn't notice...

"Dude, lighten up! You're in club, have some fun!" "Yes, Purple is right! Though I don't respect how you came to be here, you should make the best of your time here!" "I still say we should leave. If you plan to set the spirits free, you shouldn't be here! " "I'm all for your idea, Orange, but we don't know where to start! I know I'm supposed to be out dueling, but my rickety old duel disk is rather embarrasing..." He reached down to get his deck, and maybe run through some strategy. But when he reached down, he felt another's hand. He raises an eyebrow and the feel as the Heralds tilt downward. They didn't have faces, but if they did, they'd all be glaring at the young woman and her companions.
"She should learn to keep her hands to herself." At that, he quickly turned and stared down at the woman through his shades. He smiled, grabbed his deck, and began shuffling. "If you're in need of money, all you have to do is ask." "WHAT!? Your earthly money is too valuable to be given out!" Zolanius ignored the Herald of Orange Light and kept smiling to the stranger. Hopefully, he can make a new friend. That's always nice...

Great Maju Garzett growled at the green orb of light, Tekka would have shushed him if it would have made her look completely insane. Then again, this guy had communicated with his own spirits... Still, she decided against it, only to give a grin of her own.
"I'm surprised you haven't called security," She started. "But half the fun is in the taking, so take your orange friend's advice and keep your cash." She hadn't taken it, so she wasn't going to keep it. It was just one of her quirks. The blond took a seat next to him though and ordered a Sprite as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Which, to Tekka, it was.

"Hehe... Yeah, no. Security wouldn't be the best option for either of us." Zolanius wasn't a fighter, but he could still hold his own. But given the choice to be discrete or known, secrecy was always of priority. "As for my money issues, I needn't worry. I can swindle some unfortunate individual into making a faux donation to yours truly." "....What? You and your big words. Why is she sitting beside you? Why is that thing growling so much? Why i-" Orange had interupted him. "Please stop talking..." "I'm gonna kick your-"
Zolanius had enough of the banter and decided to keep talking. "As I was saying, you've nothing to fear of me in terms of authority. I guess you could say I'm like you. Only I use my words, and not my hands." "Which is wrong!"

Tekka smiled. "So you're a swindler, eh? A fancier version of the business, I prefer the simpler version of it all m'self." And there was no one better at it than Tekka. Not to say that they had a rampant thievery problem, but Tekka had managed to earn the respect of what thieves she had met.
She glanced to the purple glowing orb to speak. "And Maju's growling 'cause he doesn't like fairies." That was what she was assuming they were, anyway. "Sorry 'bout that."

"Fairy!? I'm not just a fairy! I'm a Synth-" The Herald of Orange Light bumped into him to shut him up, with to anyone who could hear them would make a glassy noise. "Yes, we're fairies. That's all you need to know." The Herald of Green Light floated in front of the young woman and started a sort of bowing motion. "I am terribly sorry for the behavior of my two friends! They can be bothersome sometimes but are nice when you get to know them!"
"Green, enough." "Uh, sorry Zolanius..." All three Heralds begin to wander around the club, phasing through the various dancers and adding their own light shows just for the heck of it, brilliant lights shining from their crystal cores and though the holes in their armor. "I apologize for my friends behavior. As Green said, my name is Zolanius. I take it that you are one of the gifted few who can talk to the spirits! A rare twist of fate, I observe. And what is your name, my dear?" His manner of speech was archaic at best, showing affection to all though it means nothing. Unless he wanted it to.

Tekka nodded. "It's not that rare, though. Anyway, the name's Tekka, Tekka King." She made a face after. "And don't call me 'my dear,' that's reserved for my boyfriend only." She didn't mention that her boyfriend and brother could also see spirits as well, but she figured that Zolanius would ask if he was curious.
"So what are you doing here anyway?" She asked. "Meeting someone? Those lightbulbs drag you here? Boredom?" The little thief's guesses varied, trying to cover all the bases she could think of off the top of her head. "A meeting of the National Fedora Society?"

"I meant no offense, but that is just the mannerisms upon which I am acustomed to speaking! But I shall be wary." He smiles heartily and goes back to drinking whatever form of fizzy water was bestowed to him. Though it was impossible to see where his eyes were going, he was staring off at the Heralds trying to kill time. It was then that Tekka asked why he was here.
She began listing reasons to answer her own question, all of which were wrong, though the last one was rather hilarious. Zolanius gave a subtle chuckle as he adjusted his own fedora. "In all honesty, I've no clue as to the reason I'm here. I tricked the bouncer, sat down, asked for water, and here I am. The crystaline figures you met are supposed to guide me to some sort of destiny, but they won't tell me why. Purple is too distracted, Green changes the subject, and Orange just will not say." He takes a drink then scrolls through his cards until he pulls out a copy of all three Heralds."
"I often wonder if they know why they're here." He slides the cards back in and shuffles the deck as he would with a standard deck. "And what of you, Miss King? Aside from the trade in which you accomplish, what brings you here? Did your spirits guide you? Or did they not have a choice?"

Tekka glanced back over to Gorz and Maju and grinned. "They don't do much guiding, honestly. I'm more here 'cause I thought it'd be fun to watch bad dancers make fools of themselves and lift a little cash." She gave a shrug. "I'd say your reason is a bit more impressive than my own. Guided, I guess you could call it, is what happened to you." Tekka actually wasn't all that sure why she was here too. Yes, watching and working the crowd was all well and good, but it wasn't a very big crowd. She could have made much more from Cyber Twin Central...

"Guided would be accurate. But again, I doubt they know what they're doing. They keep telling me that I'm the one who will "Free the Agents" or something to that measure. It makes no difference to me as long as I have some fun in the process. I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from." He turns and examines Tekka's duel spirits, and rubs his chin in thought.
"If you don't mind me asking, how did you come to be with these creatures? And are they anything like my spirits? Aside from shape and all, but you know what I mean." Zolanius grew up with the Heralds, and they taught him many things about the purpose of the spirits and what life was like before this dreaded age. The Heralds were now trying to dance to the heavy bass of the music. Green was doing some awkward version of the can-can, Purple was trying the robot, and Orange was just floating there, given that it had no arms or legs to move with.

Tekka gave a shrug. "They just sorta showed up one day, physically anyway," She paused and tapped her fingers on the bar top in thought. "I think I always knew there was something up with my deck and I sorta felt 'em, but it wasn't until I was ten or so that I began seeing them." She was positive that anyone that overhead their conversation would be a little afraid for their sanity, good thing the tiny thief didn't care much one way or the other.
A Sprite was set in front of the blond and she took a thankful gulp, giving the bartender a thumbs up before continuing. "As for the second question, the fact that they're fiends probably gives them a different personality, and I think they're not trying to guide me so much as... I dunno, maybe just keep me company and watch my back? They're more like good friends than anything else." And she doubted that she had a grand destiny when she couldn't even beat her eldest brother...

As she was explaining how she came to meet with her spirits, the Herald of Orange Light floated over lazily. "All spirits have a purpose, as do the living. That is just the natural order, if humans can even comprehend such a concept." Zolanius lowered his head in embarassment from Orange's condescending comment. Orange was the practical one who never uses tact in any conversation. If it finds something wrong, it'll blurt out its opinions without a second thought. Zolanius always tried to maintain a telepathic link, but sometimes it was hard to focus when the Heralds show their negative qualities.
"Orange, enough!" "Have you even bothered to ask them? Or perhaps they're hiding something?" "Don't be rude!" Zolanius shouted at the air again, then looked around to see if he'd gotten any strange looks. "All I am doing is readdressing that all spirits have a purpose. Some more malicious than others..." Zolanius took another drink and slammed the glass on the table. It was at that point that Orange decided to just float there. Zolanius smiled again with a heavy breath. "I hope he didn't offend you, Miss King. Such comments are known to ruin one's mood, I'm sure."

Tekka listened to the spirit, frowning when he mentioned the malicious spirits. She got that that would be the general assumption with fiends, but they had been more of a comfort to her than her own father had been. "At least they're straightforward," She muttered, though it was impossible to tell if she meant the glowing fairy in front of them or her own pair of fiends. Gorz reached over Tekka's head and plucked the glowing orb from the air, carrying it away and putting it aside. The thief sent him a mental thank-you.
"And who says that their purpose has to do with me? I might be an aftereffect or a precursor to what their doing..." She was mumbling by this point, not really all at ease with the Orange orb's words. Maju placed a hand on her shoulder, offering silent comfort.

"Where are you taking me? Put me back! There is nothing to gain from th- Orange was harder to hear since he was now so far away, which was a sort of good thing. After this had happened, Green decided to make it's way back to the bar. It had heard the mumbled and decided to add it's own thoughts. Where Orange had a sort of monotone voice, Green had a soothing, almost female voice. It was still resonating with the way most artificial voices do.
"Please, don't fret over what the Herald of Orange Light had said. I know just from looking at you that, though a thief, you have a kind heart. What Herald of Orange Light failed to mention was that the spirits are drawn to those who they feel they can relate. It doesn't matter if they're fiends, zombies, or even machines." It floated to the side that Maju had touched. "And it is by this gesture that you know that they're kind spirits."
Zolanius smiled and removed his shades, placing them on the bar. "Thank you Green... At least you have some sense." He looks at Tekka with eyes half open. I hope that made you feel better, miss. She has a point. Fiends are not always fiendish."
