Locke drew her cards with a bit of a grimace. Getting the first turn wasn't all that much of a favor. Something hit the albino hard at that moment, something about the thief's name...
"Tekka... King?" she asked, scratching her head with the first six cards. "Eh, I'll worry about it later. First, I'll set three cards face-down and summon Elemental Hero Avian, in Attack Mode!" The winged hero in green flew in from behind Locke, landing lightly on his feet (1000/1000). "That'll do it, kid. Make your move."

Tekka cocked her head to the side, drawing before dismissing her opponent's confusion over... over whatever it was. "Whatever, I'll kick it off with a monster in defense mode and four facedowns. That's all." She smiled. "Now do I get to know your name or do I have to make one up for ya?"

Locke shrugged, drawing her next card. "Name's Erin Harrison, and I'll start my next move by activating the Field Spell 'Fusion Gate'!" A grid became visible on the ground between the two females, and the gate itself materialized behind Locke. "Thanks to this card, I can fuse my monsters without the need for Polymerization!"

Tekka pressed a button on her duel disk. "And I'll activate Mystical Space Typhoon, it destroys one trap or magic card on the field, and I'm sure you know which one." The blue typhoon whirled toward the purple vortex behind the albino duelist.

Locke was usually pretty confident about her Deck and its strategies, but this was one of the few times that she wished one of her face-downs was a Dark Bribe. THe albino grumbled as her Field Spell faded, but it wouldn't stop her from completing her move.
"Fine, then I'll summon Elemental Hero Ocean next!" she announced. A man in metallic blue surfaced from a pool that appeared next to Avian. He took a fighting pose, extending the trident that he held to signify that he was ready to unleash the fury of the deep (1500/1200). "Now, Avian will attack your monster with Featherbreak!" The flying hero rose up and did a loop-de-loop before swooping down in a vortex of green wind at the brown-backed card.

Tekka laughed as her monster was flipped up. "You just attacked my Wall of Illusions! Not only are you taking eight-hundred and fifty points of damage, but your monster is sent back your hand!" The wall glowed eerily, bouncing the feathers off itself and back at albino to deal the damage.

Locke grimaced as the storm of feathers blew around her. The flying hero returned to his card, which was promptly added to the albino's hand.
"Stupid Wall... Stupid Typhoon..." she grumbled. At least she had gotten a peek at what Tekka was hiding, and thus could form a strategy. "Since I'm not foolish enough to attack again, I'll end my turn."

Tekka laughed. "Good to know you've got your wits about you." She drew. "Alright," She sighed. "I'm putting another monster in defense mode and ending my turn." She didn't like being on the defensive, but she didn't have much of a choice thanks to her hand. Her frustration at not being able to attack at the moment was evident on her face thanks to a solid frown.

Locke was just a little worried about what Teka might summon next, considering the fact that she now had two monsters, and both of them were likely strong enough to withstand the attacks of the albino's Heroes. Still, it looked like the younger Tora's hand sucked tea leaves, so now was the time to be proactive.
"While you're building up your wall, I'll take it down!" announced the older girl. "First, I'll bring my old pal Avian back to the field!" With another impressive flight manuever, the air-manipulator returned. "Next, I'll activate H - Heated Heart! It gives my Elemental Hero Ocean a tasty power boost, so it can take out anything you've got under that plain-looking card of yours... or maybe that pesky Wall!" With a blaze of blue fire, the aquatic hero's Attack Points jumped up to 2000. "Elemental Hero Ocean, destroy Tekka's Wall of Illusions! Atlantean Smackdown!" Ocean leaped out of his pool of water, the trident he wielded pointed straight at the wall's creepy-looking face. Granted, Ocean would be going back to Locke's hand, but it'd be worth it to be rid of such an annoying monster.

Tekka sighed as her first line of defense was washed away. On the plus side, Erin would be bringing a monster back to her hand to leave little ol' Avion all by his lonesome. With any luck she'd be able to eliminate it before it could be fused.

Locke sighed as Ocean finished his move and disappeared into his hiding pool. The water then disappeared in and of itself as the card returned to the albino's hand.
"Looks like that's it for me," she said with a sigh. "Your move, kid."

Tekka looked at her newest card. "Yeah, and I'm gonna make it count." She placed a monster in attack mode, the form of a round clown with a scythe atop a large ball appeared on the field (1350/1400). "Crass Clown! Take the field!" The clown cackled and hopped from one foot to the other, twirling his scythe with a gleam in his eye. "Attack Erin's Avian with Sideshow Slasher!" She wasn't sure why she was making up attack names, but it was kinda fun.

Locke shook her head with a grin as a barrier of energy surrounded her feathered friend.
"It's not gonna work, Tekka," advised the albino. "My Hero Barrier will stop your Crass Clown's scythe before it can even scratch Avian!"

"Aww..." Tekka groaned dejectedly, well, at least that was another facedown that she wouldn't have to worry about anymore. Her Clown bounced back to its ball with a hiss and the Tora sighed. "I'll end my turn then."

Locke drew her card and let out a whoop of joy. She slapped it onto the Duel Disk with gusto, and a burly dark man hopped down to join Avian. He appeared to have all the tools he needed to school any opposing monster - wilderness style.
"I summon Elemental Hero Wildheart, in Attack Mode (1500/1600)!" shouted the older Tora. "Now, Wildheart, take out her Crass Clown with Fury of the Wild!" The newest hero ran forward, uttering a Tarzan-like cry as he repelled his machete and slashed outward.
