Hotaru could tell she was in a dream, for one, everything around her was dark, but she could see herself perfectly. And another thing: Greg was standing in front of her.
"Greg...?" she asked, unsure. All he did in reply was wave and smile. The redhead ran over to hug him, but when she did, he just... vanished.
Hotaru was frozen for a moment before she saw someone else not too far off. It looked like Jack. She tried reaching for him, but when she got too close, her surroundings instantly changed. She was in the middle of a fire, like the one she was in just a few years ago. She tried yelling for someone to help her, but her voice wouldn't work!It was like she was on mute.
Before anymore of the dream had continued, Hotaru jumped up in a full panic, screaming as loud as her voice would let her. After a few moments, she noticed she was in a hospital bed, all bandaged up. Memories of the fight with Aiden didn't last long before she started crying again, holding her head as if it were about to fall off.

Jack was in his own dream at that point, though his was a bit different. More like a memory. He and Aiden and Tekka had sneaked out to go to the Ancient Gear Amusement Park, it had been Jack's idea. The three Kings had just made it to the rusted gate when a few of the (then) Kuma owners of the territory had stumbled across them. Aiden had dueled to get them out of there without a scratch, pretty much killing any chance of any of them ever getting into Kuma in the process.
His head then took him back to the fight from earlier, the look of rage on Aiden's face as he flung his younger brother into Freed was a bit exaggerated as if to say 'he's not coming back. Your big brother is gone. Stop trying.'
A scream penetrated his subconscious mind and popped the dream bubble, catapulting Jack awake. The Ookami looked blearily around for the source of the scream, his right arm feeling heavier than it should have and making it difficult to find the source of the noise. Actually, it hurt to move at all.
Soon enough though enough synapses connected and Jack was able to match the voice to a name. "Ru-ru?" He asked loudly, worry evident in his voice, unsure where exactly he was. "Ru-ru!?" He couldn't turn enough to find her, though his head began clearing and he recognized the nuthouse white walls of the hospital around him. That was barely better than Freeds in his mind though, hospitals freaked him out.

Hotaru's crying stopped for a moment when she heard Jack's voice. She rubbed her eyes a little to wipe off a few tears when she looked around the room. "Jack?" she asked slowly. She found him in a hospital bed like the one she was in, except he had more done to him than she did.
She took a short moment to look at herself. Her arm was wrapped pretty tight from when Aiden had thrown her, as were parts of her leg. The injury she had noticed right away, however, were the bandages going around her stomach and back from when her scar opened up. For some reason, her shirt was raised up just enough to see the entire bandage. 'Just a little awkward.' she thought to herself, seeing some of her other burns and scars.
The Tora shook her head to get her thoughts away from that. She looked over at Jack again. "Jack, I-I'm sorry." she insisted, her voice cracking slightly. "It was all my fault, wasn't it...?"

Jack shook his head and winced. Okay, sore and bandaged head and an aching neck. He felt bandages winding around his left shoulder and his back to cover the cuts from the glass. They also covered his chest where he was pretty sure that his ribs were hurt in some way. His arm was obviously broken. "It wasn't your fault Ru-ru, I was the one that tackled him and started it all. If anything I should be the one saying I'm sorry." Especially considering all the injuries and property damage. Boy was that gonna take awhile to sort out...
Shoving aside pain he sat up so he could look Hotaru in the eye. The nurse or doctor or whoever was going to check on them soon would probably make him lie back down but oh well.

Hotaru blinked and looked away when their eyes met. "But you wouldn't of done that if he wasn't saying all that stuff to me." she reminded him. She wasn't sure why she was looking away from him, not at all. She put her hand over one of her scars absent-mindedly. "Can't do anything right," she muttered to herself, though she was pretty sure Jack could have heard it.

Jack gave her a faint smile. "And if I had noticed him in the bar we could have left before anything happened. We can go back and forth with this all night if you want, but that'd just make both of us feel worse."
Hearing her muttered statement Jack couldn't help but wish he could move and reassure his girlfriend of what had happened. He settled for a stern look. "You know that's wrong. You have this talent for making people happy, you can kick a giant's ass in a barfight," Well, she had lasted longer than he had anyway. "and you're the best dancer I've ever seen. That fight wasn't your fault anyway, I don't care how much you insist that it was. It wasn't."
Jack eased up on the look. "Seriously Ru-ru, stop blaming yourself, if it wasn't for me Aiden wouldn't have even been at Freeds tonight... or whenever it was..." He had no idea what time it was. He glanced around the room for a clock to find no way to tell time short of the position of the sun via window, but the blinds were drawn too tight to tell.

Hotaru eventually looked up at him again after hearing his words. They made her feel a little better about the situation. She let out a light sigh. "Alright," she said, smiling slightly.
After a moment or two Hotaru tried getting off the bed she was on. She wasn't nearly as injured as Jack was, so it was probably better if she came to him. Besides feeling a little light headed she managed to walk over and sit beside him without much harm. "Mind if I sit here?" she asked him, smiling a little more.

Jack gave a smile. "Not at all." After a moment of contented silence he gave a sigh. "You know what the worst part of the whole thing was?" He asked with a wry smile.

Hotaru blinked, tilting her head slightly. "What?" she asked, slightly confused, slightly worried.

Jack let out a small chuckle. "We didn't even get anything to eat." His stomach punctuated his words with a growl.

Hotaru let out a small giggle of her own. "True, but I guess we'll have to do with hospital food for the moment." she pointed out.
She took another look at his injuries for a moment and frowned. She really wished she could hug him or something, but she didn't want to hurt him on accident or anything, either.

Jack sighed, "I guess... but I'm gonna miss those chicken strips..." he sniffled theatrically before letting the facade go and frowning in thought. "I hate to bring the subject back up, but what happened after I got hit with that chair?"

Hotaru frowned a little at the memories. "I said a few things that he didn't really care about, I tried to hit him, but got beaten around myself instead..." she trailed off, wondering if she should tell him the rest.
She bit her lip a little, there was no point in hiding anything from him at this point. "I finally broke down and asked him to stop when I saw what all he did to you..." she could feel herself beginning to cry again. "He didn't even care, he just... walked away." Now she really felt like a cry baby, why was she so weak all of a sudden?

Jack stared down at the sheet, not quite able to speak at that moment. A minute or so later though, he managed to find a few words. "Well... shit..." Aiden had never hurt him to the extent that the middle King wound up in the hospital before, and there had been a little pinprick of a thought after he woke up that maybe it would make his older brother come to his senses. No such luck. It looked like Aiden wasn't about to snap out of it anytime soon.
Then again, when Tekka had wound up in the hospital thanks to a coma he hadn't cared in the slightest. "Looks like that's that then." He sighed out, still staring at the sheets at the foot of the bed.

Hotaru was silent for a moment, trying to wipe off her tears. "I'd hate to admit it, but from what I saw from your brother..." she hated what she was about to say, but spat it out anyway. "He reminds me a lot of how I remember my dad being."
