Matsuda tried to calm down long enough to speak. "What's gonna happen?" he asked. Hotaru shrugged.
"I really don't know." she replied. She started to wonder to herself which she preferred: rotting in jail, dying, or living a paranoid life. All three seemed very likely in her eyes, but she quickly pushed the thought aside for another time.
Another thought struck the redheaded Tora. She looked over at Jack. "You think we could tell her?" she asked him, referring to Tekka.

Jack studied his sister for a moment, weighing a few things in his mind. Tekka was actually pretty good at keeping secrets and probably wouldn't mind Hotaru being an outlaw. After all, she was a thief. Finally he nodded. "Yeah, I think so."
Tekka blinked and looked at Hotaru. "Tell me what? What's the big secret?" She couldn't say she was excited since it was getting everyone depressed like this, but maybe she could help in some way?

Matsuda looked at Hotaru, slightly worried. "You're gonna go around telling everyone, now?" he asked her accusingly.
Hotaru gave her brother a rude look. "Shut up, I've hardly told anyone." she snapped at him before looking back at Tekka. "Well, as far as my real name..." she began slowly. "Have you heard of Hotaru Megumi?" she asked her, half hopeful, half worried.

Tekka nodded and blinked as a few puzzle pieces fell into place. "Yeah," She started slowly. "and if this whole conversation is going where I think it's going, you're going to say she's back from the dead, right?" She gave a small smile as Jack sat and watched.

Hotaru scratched her head awkwardly. "That's the thing, she never died in the first place." she gave a weak smile at her as she finished. "She's right here."

Tekka grinned. "That's what I was thinking, only the way I said it sounded cooler." She looked over at Matsuda. "You gotta be more careful about what you say. You called her your sister, your last name is Megumi..." She trailed off and let him fill in the blanks.
Jack couldn't help but give a small chuckle. "Glad to see it doesn't bother you." He grinned.
The Tora stuck out her tongue. "It woulda been nice to know earlier." She half-grumbled, half laughed.
Jack had actually been expecting a bit of shock from his sister, but this wasn't bad. He'd take joy over denial. Of course that left the obvious question.
"So," The younger Ookami began. "now that we're all up to speed, how are we gonna stop Aiden from blabbing to the world?" He paused and then added. "Without anyone landing in the hospital again."

Matsuda gave an awkward laughed. "Oh... right..."
Hotaru let out a small laugh. "Good to know there's one more person on my side. As for what we're gonna do," she gave a light shrug. "I really don't know. You two know him more than I do, after all."
The older Ookami took a seat on the bed he guessed was Hotaru's. "Is there any way to reason with him?" he asked them.

Tekka shrugged. "If he still has a better nature to appeal to, we could try that." Jack gave her an incredulous look and gestured to his arm. Tekka gave him a look. "Someone who can manage to keep a cool head can try appealing to it anyway." This resulted in a swat on the arm from her brother and a stuck out tongue on her part.
Jack rolled his eyes. "You said it yourself, a total stranger would have a lot worse of a chance than us at surviving an encounter if it turned ugly."
"And if it didn't?" Tekka asked, a bit curious.
"I'd give them a medal." Jack said dryly. "It'd either take another psycho or the most pacifistic nun on the planet to not tick him off. Personally I'd rather not deal with a psycho again and I don't know how we'd find a nun." He blinked and looked at Matsuda. "Actually, if you could keep your cool and explain things to him, he might go for it."
Tekka shrugged. "You'd have to get him to promise though, Aiden used to always keep his word, he might have kept that idiosyncrasy." Another shrug. "Or if that doesn't work, maybe we could get 'im sent to jail or something?" The little Tora tried, screwing up her face in thought. "No, wait, that'd be a prime place for him to spill about Pho- Hota-" She stopped and looked at Hotaru. "Kinda off topic but what should I call you now? You got a preference or something?"

Hotaru laughed a little at Tekka's question. "Well, Jack calls me Ru-ru, and there's always good ol' Phoenix." she told her. "Which ever you prefer, I suppose."
Matsuda looked over at Jack. "So what? Just go up to him real calm and ask him to hush up about it?" he asked. "What if that doesn't work? I'd like to have a plan B if that doesn't work out, after all." He blinked when he saw Hotaru wince from the corner of his eye. "What's wrong?"
The redhead shook her head. "Scar's just being annoying." she told him like it didn't matter much. "Painkillers or whatever's probably wearing off."

Jack nodded. "Good point, still working on that bit of it though." He scratched his cheek and grinned a bit sheepishly.
Tekka blinked and began looking around Jack's bed as Hotaru mentioned her scars. "Oh, where is it?" She muttered to herself. "They couldn't have changed where the nursey-cally button thingy was in just a few months."
Finding what she was looking for she grinned and pressed a button before looking back at Hotaru. "They'll send down a nurse now, you can get something for your scars then."
'Good to know.' Jack thought, making sure to remember where the button was just in case.

Hotaru smiled at her younger clanmate. "Thanks." she said. She looked over at Matsuda, who was standing back up. He gestured her to sit down, which she reluctantly went ahead and did anyway.
The blond Ookami smiled a little before going back to a neutral expression. "Just a guess, how long do you think the two of you will be here?"
Hotaru shrugged at the question. "For me it really depends on how bad my scar opened up, that's the only bad injury I actually got."
Matsuda nodded and looked over at Jack. "How 'bout you? Think you'll be alright?" he asked him, showing something close to concern for his sister's boyfriend for the first time.

Jack grinned and waved his good hand as if to brush away the worries. "Give any sort of injury enough time and it'll heal. I'll be fine in a little while, just wait and see." He glanced at Hotaru, rather worried for her. Not physically, the hospital did great work and she wasn't incredibly hurt, but about her general well being. If Aiden DID tell anyone, Hotaru would probably have some old enemies out for her from her gang days.
Tekka smiled, hearing her stomach growl. "Well, I'm going to go grab something to eat. I sorta skipped breakfast getting here. Anyone want anything?" She offered, glancing around. Jack nodded.
"I'll take whatever's there, so long as it's edible."

The two Megumi's exchanged looks for a moment. Matsuda turned back to Tekka. "We're fine." he told her. Right around that time one of the nurses came in, but, to Matsuda's disappointment, it wasn't Keisko. This nurse had to be in her fifties and was rather big.
"What seems to be the problem?" she asked them in one of those sweet, grandma-like voices.
Hotaru rose her hand up slightly. "The, um, scar on my back is starting to hurt again." she explained. "Got anything to help me?"
"Well, yes, but Dr. Stevens is going to be the one to treat your scar, he already made that clear, but he's busy with some other patients right now." she told Hotaru. "The best I can do for you is give you some medicine to help you go to sleep."
Hotaru blinked. "No way, then." the redhead said quickly, already making her decision. "I'm not passing out just yet." she didn't care that her back felt like it was ripping apart, she wasn't going to fall asleep.
Matsuda, however, looked at her with a worried expression. "C'mon, we know it's hurting you more than your showing us." the stubborn look he got from her in return made him turn around for back up. Hotaru had always tried acting tough when they were growing up, but he always knew when she was in pain.

Keisko hurried down the hallway, clutching the clipboard with the information over Hotaru and Jack. She had just got in the hospital when Dr. Stevens had given it to her and told her to hurry. He had said he'd be there later.
She slid to a stop outside the door, breathing heavily. "Dr. Stevens... assigned... me... this room... you... can go..." She said trying to catch her breath.
"Alright, just lemme know if ya need me." the older nurse said as she exited the room. Keisko caught her breath and pulled her hair up really quickly before entering the room. She stopped stunned at who all was in here.
Keisko blinked and smiled sheepishly. "Uhh hi guys... I'm going to be your nurse..." she said looking at Jack and Hotaru. "What happened? she asked noticing all the bandages around the two. She wasn't surprised to see Matsuda and Tekka here, but she was a little self conscious knowing they were. Nobody really had seen Keisko while she worked...

Tekka grinned as she turned to see Keisko. "Heya Keis!" She exclaimed, giving a wave. Jack smiled in relief, at least the nurse wasn't a total stranger. That would have made this hospital trip hell.
As the Ookami nurse peered at the bandages Jack sighed. That question would probably have to be answer a lot in the coming days... or weeks, he wasn't sure how long it took broken bones to heal. "Barfight with a war machine." He said simply. If she asked for details he wouldn't hold them back (after all she was a nurse and could need them for a medical reason) but unless she asked he'd keep quiet about the assailant being his own brother.
