Hotaru grinned at Kage's challenge. "You're on!" she said, almost instantly dashing off toward the general direction the laser tag should have been. Her days in her old gang had included running from the police, which over time turned her into a really fast runner. Despite that though, her sprint had a playful feel to it, almost like she wasn't taking it seriously, almost. Anyone that knew the redhead knew that she could be pretty competitive at times and almost always hated to lose even the smallest things.

Tekka grinned at the height change and watched Hotaru run off. "Awesome!" She looked down at Kage's head, "Let's go! Hi-Ho Silver!!" She pointed in the direction that Hotaru was running. The laser tag was on the second floor though, and she had a plan... sort of anyway...

Kage took off at Tekka's over-the-top command, leaning forward to boost acceleration. Phoenix was pretty fast, but the giant had momentum on his side. He'd had his own share of running, from the short time when he and the White Bros. had evaded conscription, and the wanderer thus knew that he could beat his opponent if he just kept going. They were nearing the escalators within a few minutes, and Kage wondered if his girlfriend had a plan up her sleeve.

The redhead continued to sprint forward, looking behind her for a moment to see Kage and Tekka catching up surprisingly fast. This only made her push more to make her go faster as she made her way to the escalator. Hotaru then tried walking up the moving staircase as quickly as she could without hurting herself before reaching the next floor.

To Tekka's delight it looked as if they hadn't repaired the damage from the gang fight that had gone on in the mall, and a few snapped cords still extended down near the escalators. It was high enough that no one that wasn't seven and a half feet tall would be able to even touch it, luckily that made her the opportune height for a bit of Tarzan-ing. The tiny thief slowly stood upon her boyfriends shoulders and then lunged for the cord, snatching it and swinging herself up to the top floor in seconds flat.
She couldn't help but let out an, "AhhhaahhhaaaAAAhhaaah!!" as she swung, stumbling only slightly upon landing and turning that into a mad dash for the laser tag place. Considering she and Kage were a team, either of them getting there first would count as a win for both.
The blond Tora was in the lead now, she was pretty sure Hotaru was still on the escalator at the moment and fast approaching. She had no idea where Kage was (though he probably knew the layout of the mall pretty well) but he could take care of himself well enough.

Kage, having been sort of startled (but mostly amused) at his girlfriend's escapade to beat Phoenix, decided that a little galavanting of his own was necessary. Rather than follow his redheaded opponent up the up escalator, the giant began pounding up the down escalator, huge steps affording him the ability to at least match Phoenix as she stepped off of the other Stair-roid.

Hotaru saw Tekka's actions and almost giggled a little at the sight of it. By this time she was already off of the escelator and dashing forward to the laser tag. The redhead was close to catching up with Tekka, but Kage wasn't too far behind either. With this in mind she tried picking up speed as much as she could, grinning the whole time in order to reach the goal first.

Tekka could hear the approaching footsteps. It made sense, Phoenix had longer legs so she could cover mode ground. Tekka on the other hand could mover her legs faster, it balanced out and soon the two teens were neck and neck in a full out sprint to the Laser Tag place.

Kage leaned forward as he pursued the two girls toward the neon-marked Laz0r Plaza establishment. With his size, the giant knew he'd never be able to catch up, but there was one trick up his tattered sleeve... Namely, the same silver piece that helped him hold Aiden off. With an expert flick, the coin was on an angled path to the floor, where it began to zoom forward beside Phoenix. After a few seconds, the spinning Braille disc took a wide curve, hopefully getting right in the way of the redhead's next footfall. Meanwhile, Kage dumped every ounce of speed he had into catching up, so that he could help Phoenix if she fell.

Hotaru was getting close to the laser tag, not noticing the coin on the floor until she had already tripped. Hair looking more like fire, she fell forward, luckily catching herself against the ground below her. Fast or not, she was sure that by the time she got up she would be at least a little behind from where her place was in the race.

Kage skidded around his redhead friend's prone form, trying to bring the coin back to him, but Phoenix must have been laying on it. After such a daring feat, the giant made a mental note to give the ornate silver an extra polishing that night. Jeremiah's gift had certainly come in quite handy today. The only male Tora in the race stooped down and held out his hand.
"Sorry about that," he said sheepishly. "It's kinda instinctive. Need some help?" Kage really wished he would have been able to get there in time to prevent Phoenix from actually falling in the first place, but hopefully she'd harbor no hard feelings.

Hotaru looked up at Kage and grinned as she got up on her own. "I'm fine." she said, picking up the coin and handing it to him. "That thing's pretty useful, hm?" she said before taking off into a sprint once again before he could answer. She laughed a little to herself, she just needed to beat Tekka to the laser tag.

The tiny Tora thief let out a whoop of joy as she dived for the Laz0r Plaza. She hit the inside of the arena with a laugh, dancing around in a circle as she waited for the others to catch up. "I made it! I made it! I won! I won!" She sang, twirling and jumping to her made-up tune. She was a terrible dancer, but for a happy-dance the jig wasn't too bad.

Kage grinned as he approached Laz0r Plaza, amazed with the flashing lights and expansive balconies. As the giant reached his girlfriend, he took her hand and joined into the happy dance.
"You made it! You made it!" he sang, managing to keep in tune and harmonize with Tekka. "You won! You won!" There was no way he'd take credit for her brilliant Tarzanning, so might as well offer praise.

Hotaru had caught up to the laser tag, only to see that she was beat. The redhead grinned and applauded for a few moments. "Didn't know you were that fast, Tekka." she commented.
