Matsuda watched at a close enough distance so that he could step in if needed. He was surprised with how well Chika was able to take care of herself during the whole thing.
He walked over to Chika afterward only for her to run right into his chest. He caught her shoulders and gave her a weird look. "And you said you didn't know how to fight...?" he asked her in a suspicious tone.

Chika rubbed her nose, it was smarting from the impact. She glanced up at him and took a small step back to give herself room for hand motions. She didn't want to hit him. "That was hitting somebody in the face with a drumstick, anyone can do that!" She threw up her arms indignantly. "I can't punch or kick to save my life, all I got is the element of surprise." She shrugged.
"And after I use them the first time I can't use 'em again 'cause people expect that." It was more of a way to get away than anything else. A bit of a distraction via cracked jaw. "Sides, I don't bring 'em everywhere. Here in case I get a chance like today and get to play music, and to the school cause they have a drum set there too. Anywhere else, I'm pretty much defenseless."

The blond nodded. "I see..." he said. "Well, you should have told me instead of lying and going off yourself, then." he told her. "That could have gotten pretty ugly if you weren't careful." Matsuda was used to the whole big brother/ parent thing growing up so it wouldn't be a surprise if he sounded like one right now.

Chika clicked her heels together and saluted. "Yes sir!" She smiled and hugged him. "I didn't want to bug you again. 'Sides," She backed away and winked. "drumsticks are supposed to be a little more durable than hands when it comes to hitting people." From how often her brothers used to get into fights way back when she had first lived with them, she knew this from experience. People could get hurt by hitting someone else, drumsticks didn't have that drawback.

Matsuda grinned and hugged her back. He then held up his hand. "I would've been fine. My fist is kinda numb at this point." he laughed. "I've kinda gotten use to the whole thing that it doesn't hurt anymore." he shrugged a little.

Chika quirked a brow. "Should I be worried that you fight that often or glad that it doesn't hurt anymore?" She shrugged. "Either way, I could do it myself so I didn't want to bother you when you were having a good time."

"Both I guess." he laughed. "And I would've been having a good time if something happened and that guy did end up doing something." he was serious. "You said you got brothers? I bet they'd say the same thing."

Chika sighed. "I guess you're right." Except that one of her brothers had changed quite a bit and no longer seemed to care about much of anything. He got angry, then normal, then robotic again. That was it. "But since she did get out unscathed and that guy isn't going to be doing much, can we stop scolding me over it?" She scratched her cheek and smiled in an attempt to win him over.

Matsuda sighed, giving in and patting her head. "Alright, you win." he grinned. "Point is you know not to do that again, hm?"
The blond laughed a little, looking around the place once again. The dance floor was beginning to clear out. "Well that seems a little boring." he muttered.
