Jack nodded and yawned. "Sounds good to me." He sat up and stretched. "Shall I escort you home? Lot's of creeps are out and about this late at night." He grinned. "And while I don't doubt your ass-kicking abilities, I'd rather no one go to the hospital tonight."

Hotaru giggled. "That would be lovely." She was actually hoping he would walk her home, anyway. She stood up, not bothering to put her hood back on.
"Let's go then, shall we?"

He stood as well and extended his arm. "We shall." He doubted they'd get jumped and he really like spending time with Hotaru. Did this mean he could call her his girlfriend? Eh, better wait until the date, no reason to rush into anything.

Hotaru smiled, taking Jack's hand. She started walking with him as her smile grew. Wind was suddenly starting to pick up, so she pushed her hair behind her ears. She suddenly thought about Greg. What would he say if he saw this?
"It's okay, be happy."
She gasped suddenly; that sounded like Greg, but it couldn't be... Somehow, though, she knew it was him. She looked up, her thoughts and feelings confirmed, it made her feel a lot better.

Jack grinned as she took his hand, and looked at Hotaru as she gasped. What had happened? "You okay?" He asked, cocking his head to the side. His own hair was being tugged at by the wind but it was too short to cause any damage or kill his vision.

Hotaru turned back to Jack, laughing softly. "Yes, I'm fine." she assured him. "I thought I heard something." she ran her hand through her hair in an attempt at keeping it out of her face.

Jack nodded and blinked as a drop of water hit him. He looked up at the dark clouds that were staining the night sky and gave a laugh. "We should probably start to run unless you wanna get drenched." He got out before the first drizzle started.
The rain was pretty warm, pleasant even. It began smudging the paint still covering the two teens.

Hotaru nodded and started running with Jack as it began to rain. Of course she could just pull her hood over her, but she liked the feeling when the drops of water hit her head. The small bit of paint of her cheek was now starting to smudge, as was the rest of the red and purple paint on her clothing. She really needed to wash them when she got home.
Her run turned into a cheerful skip as she laughed when the rain came into contact with her face. "Don't you love the rain?" she asked Jack merrily.

Jack kept running with her, but though his step was considerably bouncy it didn't really qualify as a skip. He let out a laugh, letting the rain pelt him and wash off some of the paint. "Yeah, it's makes the world all fresh and clean, it's great!"
He splashed through a small puddle, and felt his hair beginning to collect water. The Ookami let out another laugh as it picked up a bit, not too much though.

The Tora laughed when Jack splashed through a puddle. She soon went through one herself, as it hit the bottom of her cloak and shoes.
Before she knew it, they had arrived at Hotaru's house. She frowned a little, but not too noticably. "Well, I'm home now." she said to him. "I guess I'll see you later then?"
'Don't act so sad, you'll see him in a few hours, anyway!' she kept thinking to herself. She couldn't help it though, she enjoyed being around Jack.

Jack smiled. "It appears so." The smile wasn't thousand-watt, he didn't really want to leave. He'd see Hotaru again soon enough though, there was that silver lining. "I'll see you soon." He said giving her a quick hug.
"Should I meet you at the beach or here?" He asked, mentally kicking himself for not figuring that one out before the rain had started.
All the while, the rain beat out a soothing tattoo on the roofs and sidewalks of the residential area.

Hotaru's smile was a little wider when Jack hugged her. "I guess you can come here first if you want." she replied, looking up at him. She looked over at her door, then back to him. "See ya, I guess." she gave him one more hug before reluctantly going towards her door.

Jack watched her enter the house and lingered for a moment outside, smiling happily to himself. The night had been great. The drenched Ookami made note of her address before trotting off to his house a little ways away.
What a night, eh?
