"Well... Maybe..." He scratched the back of his head and blushed a little more. Yep, that was probably a dead-giveaway. He did like Hotaru. She was nice and funny, but he wasn't entirely sure yet if he liked her like that.
Now how would he put it into words?

Hotaru noticed Jack's awkwardness, giving into her desire to smile. "It's alright, just tell me." she told him, still standing where she was. She wasn't really sure what to do next, it was hard to tell if she should do anything or not.

Jack took a deep breath and searched for words. "I guess this is the best way to put it. I don't really know. I mean," He leaned against the wall for a little stability. "I like you, yeah definitely. After all, there's nothing to really dislike about you. I just don't really know how much I like you though. If I like-like you or just like you or what."
He was blushing a bit more now. Yeah, just spill your guts to the girl who the guy that she loves is dead. She already said that he was the only person that she really liked. YOU VISITED HIS GRAVE for the love of Pete!
He was too busy beating himself up over that to really notice Hotaru's reaction.

Hotaru was slightly caught by surprise. She scratched her cheek. "W-well, I guess that makes two of us, then..." She told him before that he reminded her of Greg, and that most likely was the reason she might have liked him, if not a part of it. She had never felt this happy hanging out with someone since Greg had died.
Wait, was it wrong to like someone because they remind you of another person? Hotaru thought so, but at the same time she knew there was more to it than that. He was probably the only one not to run away from her when learning about her identity. He also managed to get her to laugh countless tiimes in just a small amount of time. That, for sure, never happened before...
What was she to do?

He would have danced for joy had the area been any less hostile. At least she didn't hate him. "This is just a suggestion," He started, "But maybe we should save this conversation for when we're not breaking and entering a government facility."

Hotaru shook her head, trying to come back to reality. He was right. "Y- yeah, good idea... What should we do, next?" she asked, still blushing.

"Well..." He grinned. "There's still a computer system we have to mess with, should we start there?" He knew how to make his duel disk work, but that was about the extent of his technical know-how. Pitiful, but true.

Hotaru also grinned. "Alright, let's go." she said. "And don't worry, I'll help when we get there." she joked. When the coast was clear, she followed him out of the room, into the hall. "So many rooms..." she commented as they walked. "It's a miracle people who work here don't get lost on a daily basis."

"Most actually do for the first few days." He laughed. "I had to get someone to draw me a map. Even then, I still got lost." They passed a few more doors and half of another one before Jack stopped.
"I think we just went by the door..." Jack said before darting back. "Yup! Come on." He waved Hotaru over before stepping inside the room.
The walls were filled with technological tidbits ranging from a giant supercomputer to tiny wind-up mice. Jack wasn't entirely sure why there were wind-up mice in a government building, but they were there.

Hotaru was amazed at everything in the room. So much technology in one room was pretty hard to believe, she didn't know where to start.
"Whoa..." she said, looking around. "I've never seen this much stuff before." she turned to Jack. "Just what were you planning on doing to all this?"

Jack shrugged. "I've never actually been in here before." He looked around gauging things and toying with one of the wind-up mice. "I was thinking along the lines of a small virus, not really cyber-terrorism, but not really cyber-citizenry either." He put the mouse back down, it wasn't that interesting, though he still wondered what it was doing in here.
"There isn't much of a point in getting a federal offense and being tried with treason after all."

"Well," she said, rubbing her arm. "if viruses is what you had in mind, we're stuck I'm afraid. The only thing I can do with computers is hack and disable stuff." she told him.
Hotaru walked around the room a little more and started playing with a few of the gadgets and other stuff. She picked up the same wind-up mouse Jack was holding a moment ago and started to play with that. "Cute." she said quietly.

Jack thought for a moment. "Hacking will work, a virus would do it quicker, but if you can get me in I think I can do the rest from there." He nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure of it."
He wasn't exactly sure what he had in mind, probably deleting all the files on all the clan members. The hard copies were still there, it would just be impossible for them to print out more copies. "Though you should probably wear gloves or something. They'll probably suspect a virus and won't check for fingerprints, but we can't be too careful around this room."

Hotaru instantly sat the mouse down and looked back at him. "Oh, yeah, I forgot about finger prints..."
She walked over to the computer, sighing. "Problem is I don't usually carry around a set of gloves with me."

"Hmm..." Jack let out a grunt in thought, peering into a cupboard and grinning. "It looks like these techies do though!" He grabbed a pair of gloves and tossed them to his friend. "Put 'em on and let's get to work!" He slipped on a pair as well and pulled over a chair.
