Tekka army crawled through the reeds that kept the sand dunes in place, peering through the stems at the water she spotted a relatively clear area and let out a whoop of joy. Going to the beach was fun, but actually finding a spot was even better.
She hopped up and dove for the spot, landing on her stomach and laughing. She punched the air, "Success!" Her arms flopped back down at her sides and she righted herself to watch the waves. Her towel was folded behind her and she was just wearing normal clothes, but it wasn't like she could swim or anything.
Besides, there was plenty else to do on the beach. For instance, nap. Which was exactly what the Tora had intended to do. 'Intended' being the key word, she was actually too awake to sleep right now.
She stared at the scene, eyes widening at the occasional dolphin fin or exceptional surfing move. Her attention was drawn away from this by the appearance of a person. She turned to look at them. "Hello?"

Tsu're was walking along the coast as he saw someone jump...on sand. She seemed to be ok with falling down, so he didn't question it. His eyes moved towards the sea as he saw two things. The first was a dolphin, jumping from the sky. The second was the whale that followed the dolphin. Sure the dolphin looks pretty, Tsu're thought to himself, but the whale is the stronger. Human kind only likes the pretty things. His eyes shifted back to Tekka when he was greeted.
Instead of answering immediately, he analyzed the person before him. His cold yet somehow alluring eyes had traced her body and he noticed her Tora wristband. I see...well, isn't this a strange day. Finally he gave the traditional greeting. "Hello." It sounded strange coming from Tsu're, for things Tsu're said had lacked any emotion or trace of emotion. It was impossible to tell what Tsu're had felt from his words alone.

Tekka blinked at his response. Sure it was the traditional response to a greeting but there was absolutely nothing in that voice. Nada, zilch, zip, zero. Maybe he was just having a bad day... Yeah, give him the benefit of the doubt, just like her brothers were always telling her to do. She grinned at him.
"Care to take a seat?" She gestured to the sand next to her. "The sand doesn't bite, at least, not in my experience it doesn't." She took special notice of his eyes, they were different. Distant, uncaring, golden. Her hand twitched at the thought of gold before she reminded herself that these were a person's eyes, not a necklace that she could take.
"So what's your name?"

Tsu're sat by her upon being invited. He didn't say anything towards the joke she had made. He didn't laugh much. "My name is Tsu're Nevol." He said after being asked. His eyes looked towards her's. "Hm..." he said, observing her actions and the way she seemed to be trying to lighten the mood. It was a simple sound, but this had more meaning on it than the hello. "I think I understand something about you." He looked towards the ocean. "You don't have to try and lighten the mood. There's no mood to lighten anyways."
His eyes seemed to gaze upon the ocean, but the small amount of sky slightly above the ocean known as the horizon. The clouds above combined with the sand below created a bit of a calming presense. Then again, Tsu're would have kept his calm in the top of a skyscraper with a bomb on his chest. That was his gift. Calm.
Once again he looked back at her, but said nothing.

Tekka noted the small noise. Though that he actually spoke almost startled her. She blinked and thought about what he said for a moment, he was a guy that probably didn't like bumbling idiots. It was times like these that she wished she had Kairi's ability to say profound wisdom. She shrugged. "Cracking jokes is what keeps me going. We all need something to cling to right now, especially when loyalties conflict with morals and the people you care about."
The pauses in between the exchanging of phases wasn't particularly awkward, but nor was it incredibly comfortable. Especially since Tekka was sobering up, there was just something about this Tsu're.
"I'm Tekka by the way."

Tsu're disregarded her name. "If there are people you care about it's a flaw. Humans have yet to evolve far enough to strengthen themselves instead of ask for help. 'Friends' as you call them, are nothing more than allies in arms. The bond shared is the war time bond. Though you'll argue I assure you friendship is a fairytale." Tsu're said this without any regret, without any impulse or know-it-all voice. He simply said it.
Then Tsu're had listened to her name. "Tekka." He mumbled to himself. She isn't one of us I see. She's not of the same clan and she hasn't been recruited yet. His eyes still stared at her. "Then again..." he mumbled, "some are so dependant that they can't bare a life of no friends. The very thought is tragedy."
All the world's a stage and we are merely actors, Tsu're thought to himself, if that's the case, the play known as life is quite the comedy.

Tekka quirked a brow at his opinion. "How old are you? If you're twenty-four or older I think I have the legal right to call you bitter." She gave a grin to let him know that she was joking but it quickly faded. "I don't think having friends is a weakness. It's good to have people that you relate to, and even when this war is over I'm sure those bonds are gonna stay." She tugged at her bracelet. "Especially if these things are going to be stuck on our wrists for the rest of our lives."
She barely caught his mumbled words. She wasn't insulted really, everyone had their own opinion after all, but she felt the desire to defend herself. "It'd be a very dreary world if people didn't stick together." She gave a wry smile. "So personally, I think the thought of friends is more of a comedy. At least then it has a happy ending."
She matched his gaze, blue meeting gold, water and fire. Inwardly she smacked her forehead. If anything it was the other way around. He was practically emotionless, and Tekka was defending some of her most basic values with a passion.
Actually, maybe ice was a better comparison to Tsu're.

Tsu're nodded, then mumbled further, "And as thought you've began to defend things not because they are good but because you are used to them. Things we are used to we grow attached too, and attachments lead to war." Tsu're looked at the sand, "Now I'm seen as bitter simply because I contrast to you, but you, in an attempt to be the bigger person that all humans want to be, will probably learn to cope with my opinion of the matter."
He looked at the water. "I'm 21, I just know too much about people. It's pretty easy to tell a lot about someone just by the way they talk and the things they say, wouldn't you agree Tekka?" After that Tsu're fell silent. Now came one of two things, amazement at his observations or the variable. He felt he'd be getting the variable.
It was a bit eerie how Tsu're had said what he said. Not only was his voice emotionless, but when he stopped talking he literally had stopped. He stopped making any sounds, he stopped nudging the person to speak...he had just stopped.

Tekka felt the hairs on the back of her neck begin to prickle. There was no denying it now that this guy was strange. Still, Tekka was never one to leave a silence silent. She thought carefully about what to say before speaking, she had to choose her words carefully.
"I guess I can see what you mean by that, it doesn't really change my opinion on the matter though. I guess that can be chalked up to how I was raised. Family's a big part of how you become you." She bit her lip. "Personal morals and things that you decide for yourself are huge too, but your family gives you your first impressions on how you want to be. At least, that's what I think."
And now that brought up a question. "But I've go to ask you something now, if attachments to people are bad, what about family? I just told you a little more about what I thought so..." She trailed off and waited.
There were few times that the blond was ever serious. Tsu're seemed to be pushing back most of her tom foolery and really made her think about her perceptions on things. Though personally she couldn't wait to see how he would handle that question. It wasn't all that brilliant but his answers were intriguing her.

Tsu're's eyes once again met hers. "Family? Family is not an attachment, family is a neccessity. A family is a pack, and like the animals we are, human kind needs to live in a pack." Tsu're thought for a couple of seconds before speaking once more. "But family shouldn't be defined as those who give you birth, it should be defined as those who raise you." He blinked.
As he continued to stare at her eyes, giving himself an analasys of the person he was talking too, a thought occured to him. "You say that friends and family are important...were you born thinking that, or were the thoughts put into your head through what your parents told you and through what you read in books?"

"Kinda funny since the people who raised me are drifting farther away every day, and they become less and less of a necessity..." She murmured clenching her fist. That was something she didn't like to think about. "I guess my friends and my clan are raising me more than my dad and my bros are right now."
She curled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, placing her chin on top. She listened to the question and gave a small sound. "Now that right there's a head-scratcher. I don't think the idea of family or friends was in my head when I was born. I think that most people are born just wanting to be safe and happy, family and friends don't really get into the picture until a little while later."

"Yes, a little while later, when schools begin to preach about how having friends are important and TV shows talk about how everything is better with friends. Now tell me, if someone died that you didn't know, would you care? If a friend died, would you care?" Tsu're stared blankly, he already knew the answer. "Friends were created by the government so they could get the thrill of ripping apart those friendships and adding on too the rage that drives us against other clans."
The creepiest thing was how Tsu're said this without rage. "It creates passion between others and invigorates the mind. Friendship is a mental block." He stared right into Tekka's eyes, as if looking in her soul. "Friendship was made to keep us in check."

The short teen cocked her head to the side. "If someone I didn't know died I don't think I'd feel much of anything, if my friends died then I'd be devastated-" She stopped suddenly, she saw what he was getting at.
Then it got to the unbelievable bit.
Tekka slapped her hand over her mouth to contain the laughter. It didn't work very well and she eventually fell back onto the beach laughing. After the fit passed she sat back up. "Sorry about that, it's just, a government conspiracy? Really?" She shook her head. "I see where you got the idea and all but..."
"I don't think so. Sure the government's a prick, but it doesn't tell you who to like and who to hate." She blinked and added, "On a personal level anyway. We do that on our own." She leaned back, her arms supporting her. "For instance, the government wouldn't want people associating with a thief, and yet I have friends."
She wondered if finding out she was a thief would impact him in anyway. Probably not.

Tsu're only kept the look on his face. "I didn't say it was a government conspiracy. Though I assume it's too hard for someone to realize they're being controlled when they are. And they would love to associate others with thieves. Anything to build up tension. I'm not the kind of person who thinks something to be true. I don't think or assume things. I have proof."
Tsu're still stared at her. "It may be tough to believe, I understand, because it's such a dumb thing of me to say. But think this, what reason do I have to lie to you? What reason do I have to say this, unless if it was true? A wise man once said...you probably don't care. People don't care these days." Tsu're then stood up. "Come talk to me when you're tired of the shackles you have to wear around your foot."
"Keep safe," he added. Then he began to walk along the beach. He had invited her to follow him, but she'd probably be too busy laughing to do so. Even Akio didn't believe it at first, but that was before Akio had heard of Tsu're's true life story.

"Proof?" She muttered to herself as he stood. She weighed the pros and cons before getting to her feet and jogging after him. When she got to him she fell into step beside him. "You know, I'm probably an idiot for following you. For all I know you're part of a cult bent on murdering me or worse, recruiting me. But then i realized that I'm pretty much in a cult already. What's the harm in another?"
Her real reason was that Tsu're was keeping her interested. Besides, she didn't have a reason to distrust him other than him being in a different clan. That had never stopped her before and it wasn't about to now.
"So out of curiosity, what did the wise man once say?"
