Caitlyn watched his coin tricks with a slight smile, and she laughed as he revealed the coin to have landed on heads. "I think I'll start us off," she said. She drew her first six cards, and examined them. 'Wow, really?' she thought, shaking her head.
"Pathetic as it is, I actually have to pass my first turn. Eesh." However, Caitlyn was in full poker-face mode, and it was hard to tell from her expression whether she really had come up empty or whethre she had something up her sleeve.

Kage drew his cards and surveyed them carefully. Not too much I can do just yet, but I'll find a way through it... he thought.
"Okay, I'll start things simple!" the young man announced, placing a card on the Duel Disk. "I summon Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle, in Attack Mode!" An indigo gem flashed into being on the field, and in the next moment, a large bird with wide wings had come from it (1400/800). "Now, Cobalt Eagle, attack Caitlyn directly!" The avian took off, circling above Caitlyn's head briefly before beginning a dive-bomb, its beak pointing menacingly downward. "Any counters to my feathered friend's attack? An loldead - I mean, Kuriboh, mayhap?"

Caitlyn was impassive as he summoned the monster, but as soon as it came in for the attack, she smirked. As it struck her, she smirked wider. "Oh, only the absolute best kind of counter for such a thing..." She selected a card from her hand. "And much, much more fun than a Kuriboh. I Special Summon Gorz the Emissary of Darkness!" She declared, playing the card. There was a bloom of shadow, and a tall Fiend with spiky red hair, wearing black-and-silver armor and a red cloak, appeared (2700/2500). "And since Gorz was Special Summoned in response to me taking Battle Damage, I get to summon an Emissary of Darkness Token withn Attack and Defense scores equal to the damage I took!" A form took shape next to him, resolving intoa codly beautiful woman in a white dress (1400/1400).

Kage grimaced as the two monsters appeared. He hadn't even considered the possibility of such a staple card, given that Caitlyn's Deck seemed to be mostly pure Fortune Lady.
"Well, at least I've done some damage this time..." the young man mused. "I suppose that'll end my turn."

Caitlyn smiled slighlty. "That you did. Don't feel too bad, Gorz here is a more recent addition to my deck." She drew, and examined her hand. "I'll call forth Fortune Lady Light, in Attack Mode," she declared. The cute, blonde Fortune Lady appeared, and winked at Kage (200/200). "I have got to get them to stop flirting with my male opponents," Caitlyn joked. "In any case, Gorz, attack Cobalt Eagle!" She ordered. The Emissary hefted his large sword, and then vanished into shadow.

Kage laughed as the Fortune Lady winked at him. "What can I say? They know a good catch when they see one, I suppose." Jokes were beginning to become commonplace in his Dueling strategy as of late, and perhaps that was a good thing.
"Dah, f-kles..." Kage muttered as his eagle was decimated by the powerful Fiend. "Go ahead and open fire. I've got nothin' up my sleeve..."

"Eh, it happens." Caitlyn shrugged. "Kaien, Lady Light, attack directly!" Lighty spun her staff and blasted Kage with a beam of light, and Kaien produced throwing daggers seemingly from thin air and tossed them. "Eesh, violent." She shook her head.
"Your move, Kage,"

Kage took the attacks with a series of comically exaggerated fliches and jerks. He drew his next card and looked at all six for a moment.
"D'allright, then..." the young man mused. "This outta stall ya for a bit. I Set a monster and a face-down, which will end my turn."

Caitlyn drew. "Well, since I'm generally not a fan of facedowns, I'll activate Heavcy Storm to destroy it and your Eagle...and to that I'll Chain my Compulsory Evacuation Device, returning my Fortune Lady Light to my hand. And you know what that means," Cait smiled sweetly. "I get to activate Lady Light's effect, and bring out another Fortune Lady from my deck. So I'll choose Fortune Lady Dark." The purple-haired woman appeared and smirked at Kage twirling her staff (2000/2000).
"Ah, but I'm not done." Caitlyn said. "I'll Summon my Lady Light again, and then activate the Spell Card Magical Dimension!" Lighty appeared once more, but was quicly encased in a sarchophagus-like box. "When I have a Spellcaster on the field, I can activate this card, and when I do, I can Tribute one of my Spellcasters in order to Special Summon one form my hand. It would also have the second effect of letting me destroy a monster, but if I give that up and tribute my Lady Light, I can Summon from my hand and my deck!" The strange contraption vanished. "So I'll call out Fortune Lady Earth from my hand, and Fortune Lady Water from my deck!" Two more Fortune Ladies appeared, one a brunette with glasses (2400/2400) and the other with long blue hair (1200/1200).
"Finally, Fortune Lady Water's effect activates. When she's Special Summoned and there are other Fortune Ladies on the field, I can draw two cards." Caitlyn did so, and her eyes lit up. "Hey, Kage, remember that monster I showed you? My 'counter' to Aslla Piscu? Well, here's your chance to see her in action! I activate Ritual of Grace!" When she played the card, a beautiful altar appeared. "Now, by sacrificing my Level Seven token, I can Ritual Summon Divine Grace-Northwemko!" Kaien and the altar vanished, and in a glow of light, a beautiful form rose up. She was a blonde woman in an elaborate dress, wearing a crownlike headpiece and carrying a staff topped with a sun-shaped piece (2700/1200). "And, when Northwemko is summoned, I can select face-up cards on the field up tot he number of monsters I sacrificed to summon her. As long as they remain, she can't be targeted by card effects. So, I'll choose Gorz the Emissary of Darkness." Both Northwemko and Gorz glowed. "Sorry Kage, but unless that facedown monster of yours can't be destroyed by battle, I think this duel may be over already. It's been real. Fortune Lady Water, attack his monster!"

"Been real?" mused Kage, scratching his chin. He seemed almost too fascinated by the strange phrase to notice as his card flipped up, revealing Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle. The tiny creature tried to defend itself against the Fortunne Lady's attack, but to no avail. "Well, that's a bummer... I can has mercy turn?" A grin was planted on Kage's face. He didn't care about winning - no, this was indeed crucial to the strategy of defeating Rex. Although... winning would have been nice.

Caitlyn smiled slightly. "Odd little colloquialism. I don't even remember where I picked it up." She said. At his request, she shook her hed vigorously. "I hate to say it, I don't give mercy turns. This may be a bit painful. Northwemko, Lady Earth, Lady Dark, Gorz, attack directly!"

Kage was about to comment on how he really hadn't expected a mercy turn, and that the request was a joke, but the bombardment of attacks crashed into him. The young man let his body go limp long enough for the force of the combined damage to send him flying backward, easily putting six feet between the sand and himself. Kage landed with a puff of sand and a resigned "Ow..." before getting up.
"Was it necessary to attack with all of them?" he sputtered, getting up and spitting out some of the gritty ground. Despite his hurt tone, Kage couldn't have looked happier. He held out his hand, as he had done the last time they Dueled. "Again, a great Duel, Cait. I think you'll have no problem beating Rex and his... new best friend."

Caitlyn raised her eyebrows. "Ouch. Tht must've hurt a lot." She said, knowing that she had overdone it a bit. She walked over to him, looking a bit abashed.
"You know, no, I didn't, but to be honest, it was kind of fun," she confessed. She took his hand, shaking it. "Assuming everything goes right, I should say not. But again, that's assuming everything goes right. And you know what assuming does."

"I know that saying all too well..." reflected Kage, laughing a little. "Oh, and don't worry about the attacks. I pretty much just let them carry me that far because..." He paused for a moment, wondering even to himself why he had made such a production out of a loss. "Well, because it was funny!"
