Gabe twitch a little and he fought the urge to crush the can in his hand. Why couldn't he let this GO? "…Yes. It is." He turned and went to the living room and sat on the couch, hoping the time that it could take Satoru to follow him would be enough to get himself together. He rubbed his temple a little and ran a hand through his hair. He had come down here to get his mind off of what was jumbled through his head, not have it all get shoved back in his face.

Satoru, despite his instincts and urge to push more, decided to maybe stop for now before it got closer to an explosion. That had never turned out well in the past, so right now? Probably an even worse idea. He let out a breath as Gabe left kitchen for the living room and tossed out the remaining quarter of sandwich before attempting to follow. He rolled his way back to the living room, staying quiet this time. 'Gabe will talk when he wants to' he had to remind himself. He couldn't force it... But god did he want to.

Gabe tried to think of a better subject to bring up as Satoru followed, grateful for the silence that meant he wouldn't press anymore on the topic. "So when can we work on my shooting again?" He asked, figuring that'd be an okay topic to change to for the moment. He wasn't sure what else there'd be to talk about between them, and he'd rather avoid awkward silences if he could.

The gunslinger shrugged. "In a few days," he said. He doubted Mina or Egil would be keen on letting him back in until he was back to his usual self. Still, it was better than it could have been. "I doubt you want to be seen looking like you got hit by a train." He settled as comfortably as he could into his seat as they talked. There was no way he was switching over to the couch, the last time that had happened he had wound up sprawled on the floor with sore arms that hadn't quite caught his fall.

Gabe nodded a little, yeah that was true. He just wanted to get back to doing something productive, and that was his biggest goal at the moment anyway. Still, it was going to be hard to keep him distracted the next few days until they could start, wasn't like there was much to do around the house aside from books he'd already read and movies he'd already seen. The blond sighed. "Probably die of boredom before I get the chance."

"You've probably got a bunch of schoolwork to catch up on, that might cure it for a bit." More likely it would make it WORSE, but hey, it would be something for the blond to do while he was stuck at home. Something productive at least.

"Ah shit." The Kuma mumbled. That's right, he hadn't even thought about catching up with school, that might be a good idea considering he'd be graduating soon. He scratched his head as he thought. "Yeah, I'll um, I'll get Adriana to get what I've missed." She was younger than him, therefore a different grade, but it wasn't like he could ask Fei, and there wasn't really anyone else he felt comfortable seeing him like this at the moment anyway.

"Good luck," he held back a wry laugh. However much Satoru knew it to be a damn good thing (well, getting-an-education-wise), Gabe's dread over school almost made the ex-Tora glad he had never attended one. Almost. Had he had a choice in the matter he would have loved to actually go to a school, it probably would have made things a hell of a lot easier. But that was all in the past, so it wasn't like it was possible to change.

Gabe rolled his eyes. "Yeah, thanks." He really wasn't that worried, the blond was actually a really good student, but he'd rather not let his grades drop too much if he could help it. If he were to be completely honest though he didn't see the point in it anyway, not for this town at least. A lot of the adults in town seemed to have dropped out of school at some point and still had pretty decent jobs. He knew his own father had graduated high school, but he wasn't originally from Hatsu Itonami now that he thought about it, so he didn't think that counted.
Oh well, might just give him an advantage when he did finally go out and get a job.

"Welcome, not like you'll need luck anyway." He shrugged before thinking for a moment. Adrianna was in another grade, getting the work might be a little more difficult for the girl than say, Fei. Actually, that would probably be a lot easier and...
He paused his train of thought and rewound. Where was Fei? The last time Gabe was in the hospital she had come almost immediately. Hell, he and Keith had barely gotten there before her, they had only just called to inform the school that Gabe would be out for a little while, Fei must have come right after class. And yet, they had spent a day or two in the hospital, not to mention some time at home, and there was still no sign of her... "Hey," he started. "What happened with you and Fei? I woulda thought she'd have been at the hospital as soon as you woke up, but she hasn't even given a call has she?"

Gabe sighed and gave a forced laugh, he was wondering when someone would notice. "No, we're… we're done." Wow, that had hurt more to say out loud than he thought it would have. "Neither of us were getting what we wanted, so she left." He had been so sure of himself too.
"It was actually a few hours before they got me, I was out trying to clear my head..." He admitted, voice gradually getting quieter. He picked it up quickly though. "But no big deal, right? Other fish in the sea and all that crap." He gave a grin, but even it was clear forced. He hadn't really had much time to sulk over it, but now that it was at the front of his mind… Damn did he wish those thugs were still beating him up right now, it'd hurt less than this did.

Now that sounded almost familiar... Why would it--
Oh. Oh that was right... That sounded suspiciously like what he did when he realized he liked Keith a bit more than what was permissible... Well wasn't that just a kick in the teeth? "...You know," he started out, fairly certain Gabe had never heard this story before (there had been no reason to tell him and he'd never asked). "Before your dad and I got together, I spent almost a month and a half distancing myself from him and avoiding him like the plague." Hopefully Gabe would decide to listen to this and not dismiss it, it might just help him.

Gabe raised a brow and turned his head to look at Satoru easier. "Really? And what'd he do about it?" He had a feeling he knew where this was going, but it'd be best to just stay quiet and let the gunslinger explain himself.

"Busted into the range, punched me in the face, had a good long talk about what the hell was going on, and then made out for a few hours." He replied smoothly. "I recommend maybe avoiding some of those steps, but here's the thing," because oh no, he was not done yet. There was a point to this. "The reason I wound up staying away that long was because I was afraid of liking your dad, and I'm betting it's the same for Fei." Not... exactly the same type of fear, but in the end it was similar enough to work. "I doubt it's you, it's the matter of she's scared of getting hurt." Again, in a different way, he was certain... But still similar enough to make the point. "Because she seemed to like you a hell of a lot, and now she's just cutting herself off from you? There's a reason for that more than just only wanting a fling."

"So if you're such an expert, what should I do?" Came Gabe's immediate response. He'd actually had that theory for a while, as far as why she wouldn't date him to begin with, but after she'd gone off on him he'd thrown that thought out the window. If he was right and it was the case… well was there anything he could do? Just wait for her to come to her senses, IF she did? He didn't like the sound of that very much.
