Roman blinked. "That's a good point, I guess..." He was confused by her first comment though. "... What's that mean? I thought you couldn't dig up that much on his dad?" Unless there was something else? Besides, what could Daemon liking Emma have anything to do with Mr. Spiers?

"I meant you..." Becca said, not missing a beat. "Tekka told me what she knew about your father. Said he was one of the best men she'd ever had the pleasure of knowing." She had also mentioned that telling Roman or Perri Megumi of their father's death, or what she knew of it, was intolerable.
Frankly, Becca disagreed, but for now she'd let the world work that out on its own. "You seem like you're a lot like him. Reasonably bright, protective..." She gave a shrug. "A good man, despite what flaws you might have. That's what you seem like."

Roman was genuinely surprised by the compliment. Growing up he always heard people mention how much he looked like his father(and with the pictures he'd seen of him he had to agreed), but this... It was so much more, and from someone he really didn't even know that well.
The blonde snapped out of his little trance, feeling a little embarrassed. "Umm... Th- thanks." He muttered, messing with his hair. "That's a big compliment for me.."

Becca just gave a nod. "I know." She replied simply. "You seem to have met Daemon, tell me about him." She wanted as much information as quickly as possible, this was one way of going about to get it.

Roman sat up straighter, trying to get his thoughts together on the other Spiers. "Well, he's on the baseball team, one of the better members actually. Straight A student, big time teacher's pet." He shrugged a little. "He's sickeningly perfect, if I had to describe him in one sentence." And annoying, very annoying, but that could go without being said. "Personality wise, he's Artemis' opposite."

Becca frowned. "Sounds perfect..." Definitely someone she'd have to meet in person, see if that was a facade or if he was just a perfectionist. "I doubt I'll like meeting him. No one is that seemingly perfect without something to hide..." And she'd get to the bottom of it, even if it meant spilling what she knew to Roman... He seemed like a good... friend, to have.
Pester purred loudly on Roman's lap, wriggling a bit into a more comfy position.

Roman nodded. "Yeah, there's always been something about him that bugs me, you'll know what I mean when you see him."
He looked down at the cat and laughed a little as it got adjusted. "He's friendly alright." He said as he pet him a little. The blonde looked back up at Becca. "What's his name?"

Seeing as the Speirs conversation had come to it's inevitable conclusion for the moment, Becca glanced over to the cat. "Pester, I found him before Tekka found me. He wouldn't leave me alone." Hence, the name.
It was surprisingly easy for Rebecca to relax around Roman. Perhaps it was because he was so straightforward... that was always nice, finding someone who didn't dance around topics.

"Well he seems like a good pal." He smiled down at Pester again and raised a brow at Becca. "So how did you all come across each other? You seem pretty close." Just a short observation we had noticed when he saw them together at the park.

Becca glanced down at her still-shut laptop, tempted to open it up again and ignore the question... But it was a valid question, and hell, she was certain Kaz had told everyone he had befriended his version of events already... "I'll tell you over breakfast," the kitchen was probably about to open up, though no one was really awake enough for food yet... But that wouldn't be the case for long. "We might as well eat while it's quiet."

Roman nodded in agreement, standing to his feet and holding Pester. "Sounds good to me." He said. His stomach started to growl, reminding him just how hungry he was.

Becca gathered up her laptop and rose, the ends of her lounge pants only letting the toes of her feet stick out from the swathes of cloth. "It's this way, isn't it?" She began as she started walking to where the smells of food were coming from. The good food was served early, by the time most were up, it was cereal or eggs. But early, she had found, you could find pancakes and french toast.
Her feet padded near-silently across the floor of the barracks as they walked, a quiet shff-shff of cloth on the floor soft as breathing.

The blonde walked along with Becca, coming into the dining hall. He took a couple of plates and handing one to Becca. "Here, you go first." He liked to think of himself as a gentleman every now and then, and now was no exception.

Becca smirked. "Like I'd let you at the pancakes first." She replied, taking the plate to start loading up on the aforementioned pancakes. As well as some fruit, a healthy smattering of eggs, and even some hash browns. Now that food was easy to come by, Becca wasn't wasting a bite of it if she could help it. She waited for Roman to grab his own food before heading for a table.

Roman gathered his food, a stack of pancakes, a couple of biscuits, and some fruit. He turned back to Becca and nodded her to the table he usually sat at when he decided to stay there to eat. It was close enough to the food for if you wanted seconds, but still a good enough distance from anyone that might come in this early. He had a feeling that Becca was probably just as social as himself, if not less, so avoiding people might be a good idea for the moment.
