The forest was the only place Sky could have any privacy, and right now the usually peppy teen needed that more than anything as she cried her eyes out. She hadn't seen her dad over a MONTH, and every time she tried to call him to hang out with him he blew her off for "work". Normally the pinkette wouldn't worry herself over it, but she missed her daddy, darn it! It was bad enough Mom walked out on them, now she didn't even have her father around.
Appearance wise, Sky wasn't at her best either. Her make up was smeared a little and she hadn't bothered doing her hair, so the pink stands fell around her face in messy waves she normally hated. All in all, she really hoped no one would see her like this...

Kaji had been wandering around the forest, trying to find a good place to sketch. At least that was what he told himself, but in all honesty the Ookami knew he'd be doing more thinking than drawing. He had a lot on his mind these days. And the forest was really the only place he assumed he could sit around entirely without the risk of interruption.
That was, until the redhead happened to hear a strange sniffling sound. He paused, straining to listen further. Yeah... That was definitely someone crying. For a moment Kaji debated between following the noise and turning to walk the other way. Personally he knew he would never want to know that someone had actually heard him having an emotional outburst (not that he ever cried or anything... EVER). But in the end his curious nature drove him forward; so he followed the crying noises until he happened to spot a strikingly familiar head of pink hair.
"Skye?" he asked before he could second guess himself. "...Is that you?"

Sky jumped when she heard a familiar voice. The Tora started wipping the tears off her face in a poor attempt to pull herself together. "K-Kaji!" She exclaimed, managing to force a tiny laugh through her sobs. "D-don't worry about me, I'm fine..." She tried insisting, though her mumbled voice didn't back it up any. This was embarrassing, she didn't cry often, but when she did she'd never gotten caught before.

"You don't look so fine to me," the redhead observed softly, sitting himself down next to the Tora girl. He glanced over at her, observing the amused make up and still visible tears on her face. Although he wouldn't normally get involved, Kaji asked, "Something wrong?"

Sky froze while Kaji sat beside her, debating on whether or not to tell him. After a few good moments she finally cracked. "I-I m-miss my daddy..." She muttered, sounding more like a little kid than the teenager she was. "I haven't seen him in a month, and I don't think he even wants to see me anymore. Not since a little after Momma left at least, it's like he's a completely different person..." It was like he didn't even care about her anymore, it hurt so much.

Kaji scowled. He knew how complicated parental relationships could be first-hand. "I'm sorry," the redhead managed, mentally wincing at how lame such a simple response sounded. He wanted to give her some reassurance, but he wasn't really sure how. "I'm sure it's not your fault or anything. People get weird when bad things happen."

Sky nodded shakily. "I guess..." It's was just... "I did so much to help him get over Mom, dyed my hair, stopped going by my first name, all 'cause it reminded him of her, and this is the thanks I get." It sucked, no matter what she did she never got anything in return. He gave her money to keep her 'happy', but that was never what she wanted to begin with. She just wanted to spend some time with her dad..

The scowl deepened. To be honest, Sky's dad kinda seemed like a jerk. He didn't really want to say so for fear of breeching a sensitive subject. "I mean, I dunno. Have you ever tried talking to him about it?" God, he sounded so hypocritical...

The pinkette nodded, rubbing her eyes to keep anymore tears from leaking. "He just says I'm being silly and told me not to bring the subject up again..." She sighed. "Sometimes when he gets mad a me he accidentally calls me by my mom's name, since they're so similar. Then I won't get to see him for days after it." She realized Kaji(or anyone else for that matter) didn't know her first name, simply because the topic was never brought up. She was so use to Sky now it jusy seemed natural to her.
After another moment of silence she figured Kaji probably didn't wanna hear her complain. "I'm sorry!" She apologized quickly. "Didn't mean to spill all this on you."

"Eh, don't worry about it." Kaji shrugged. "You needed to vent. And besides, you're not the only one in the world with difficult parents." Funny, he was having a pretty easy time talking to Sky, contrary to his normal anti-social tendencies. Then again, he had always been way more comfortable around girls. Maybe that was because he didn't have any sort of romantic interest in them whatsoever...

Sky blinked a few times, letting out a small giggle as she pulled the redhead in for a hug. "Thanks Kaji, you're the best!" She exclaimed happily. The once blond didn't have too many friends, most people saw her as either annoying, spoiled, or stupid(at least that was what she thought it was) so what friends she did have she liked to keep them close.

Kaji froze for a second when Sky hugged him, then closed his arms around around her and patted her back rather awkwardly. "Don't mention it," he half-mumbled. He kinda sucked at this affection stuff, but Sky sort of reminded her of his cousin... so talking to her wasn't so hard for him as it was to talk with other people.

Sky let go of the redhead , wipping off what few tears were left as she laughed again. "Sorry about that, I was hoping no one would run into me here." She scratched her head awkwardly. "So what did you come here for in the first place?" Not many people just randomly wander into the forest these days.

"I was just looking for someplace quiet," the redhead answered with a shrug. "I technically can just be alone in my apartment but..." There was more than a good chance of Jamie popping in for a visit, and Kaji really hadn't wanted to be interrupted. (Plus, the persistent Irishman was one of the reasons Kaji needed some serious thinkig time in the first place.) Knowing he couldn't say such things to Sky, the Ookami merely shrugged again.

Sky looked around at their peacefully and beautiful surroundings. "It is pretty nice here isn't it?" She asked with a smile. "A lot better than being locked inside some apartment." At least she thought so, she hated being locked up somewhere for long periods of time. The only time she'd ever be caught at headquarters for more than two or three hours were if she were either sick or alseep.
A thought came across the pinkette's mind and she looked back at Kaji. "So have you see Jamie any lately?" She asked, tilting her head to the side curiously. Both of the redheads were so nice to her last time she had been with them, she wondered why she hadn't seen either one in town lately.
