Theo fretted for a few moments longer before he managed to shove the thought aside. He knew how painful cuts like that could be, and stitches too, but... Yuki didn't seem like she was in any undue pain... So that was... that was okay.
She was okay, he could relax. He allowed a nervous smile to slip back onto his face. "O-Okay..." He murmured out after the pause, though his eyes radiated concern. After getting a friend after so long on his own could anyone blame him for being concerned if she was hurt or not?

"I'm absolutely fine, I promise." The Ookami tapped her companion's nose playfully. "You worry too much." A little hypocritical, but what could she say? Yukiko felt like being the worrier should have been her job.

Theo's small smile twitched a little wider and some of the worry seemed to melt away with the tap to his nose. He... wasn't a fan of being touched, at all really... But Yuki would never hurt him, she had never quite said as much in as many words... but she had shown it. That was enough.
"S-so... um..." He started off again, trying to get the topic off of injuries. Yuki had never brought up why he wore all the clothes he did even in the summer, and he hoped that that topic wouldn't be brought up for a while. "H-how is y-your brother, anyway?" He did know about Yuki's brother, true, but he didn't know much... And wasn't it proper to know about a friend's family and life? He thought it was...

"Kaito?" Yukiko clarified. She assumed that was the one he was talking about, sing as she didn't mention any of her other brothers all that much. "He's doing pretty well, I guess. He'ss got a job at some music store now, and I think he likes it a lot. Plus, he and Ayumu are still dating, which is good." She laughed. "He's always in a better mood after seeing her."

Despite being fairly assured that he already knew the answer, the question was out before he could stop it, "He treats her well, and she him, right?" He... didn't like to hear about hurt people. For obvious reasons. It... hadn't affected him so much before... But without the tumor in his brain things seemed to be... Sharper, more distinct. More capable of affecting him.

Yukiko paused for a moment, mild surprise quickly passing over he face. She thought she knew why Theo was asking... and honestly thinking about it mad her more than a little sad. "Um, yeah." She immediately forced forward a smile, wiping away any negative feelings. "Kaito may look scary but he's actually just a big teddy bear on the inside. And his girlfriend's nothing but a sweetheart."

Theo nodded a bit, more to himself than anything. "G-good." He stammered out with a smile. That was... That was a good thing. That was an IMPORTANT thing. He knew that, he just hoped... he just hoped Yuki didn't wonder why he thought it so important to ask. "S-so what's this place like when it's crowded?" They weren't in peak season right now, and the beach was fairly barren when out-of-season. It wasn't like Hatsu Itonami was a vacationing town anyway, people only came to a place with a war as it's main feature when they were out of other options.
It made Theo wonder what had actually brought him here... He had been desperate to get out, but... He could have gotten anywhere with the money he had squirreled away over the years... As a matter of fact he couldn't remember much of anything about his grand escape. That in itself scared him.

Yukiko thought for a moment. "Well it's certainly a lot noisier," she chuckled. "I usually come when it's kind of stormy so there aren't as many people as there are on nice days but..." A pause. "Well, it's kind of awkward to hang out here alone, at least if you want to swim and stuff, and I usually don't have anyone to go with so I tend to come when it's not as busy." The Ookami shrugged. "But it's still fun to explore. There are tons of hidden caves and coves if you know where to look."

"C-can we go find some?" Theo asked, perking up instantly at the thought of exploring the beach a little. He had read so much about things like this before that the idea of doing it himself was wonderful! He just... didn't often have the courage to explore on his own and really DID need Yuki there to help.

Yukiko blinked, an enthusiastic smile quickly forming on her face. "Yeah, of course! Most of 'em are that way." She pointed to an area little farther ahead, which was marked by appeared, from a distance, to be a group of very large rocks. In actuality they were actually some cliffs that made up a small, cave-ridden cove. Most of the beach-visiting public avoided that area, so Yukiko had made a habit of exploring there when she wanted some alone time. (Not, of course, like she didn't get enough of that already.)

Theo took Yuki gently by the hand and tugged the slightest bit as he picked up his pace. "L-let's go!" He couldn't keep the excitement off of his face, though it was subdued a bit from his shyer nature, and looked very much like a small child who had been promised a trip to the amusement park.

Theo's enthusiasm was contagious, and Yukiko struggled not to laugh as the Tora tugged her along. He sort of reminded her like the brothers on Christmas morning- filled with barely contained excitement, hurriedly dragging her down the stairs two at a time to get to a pile of presents that, in all honesty, wouldn't be going anywhere.
The Ookami adjusted her pace to match her companions, and wiggled her fingers a little so that her hand fit more comfortably in his. It was a little strange, having the small wall of fabric separating their palms, but Yukiko knew why her friend hadn't taken his gloves off. It was the same reason he was wearing a sweater on such a warm day. Yukiko understood all of this, but it didn't stop her from wishing Theo would tell her himself...

Theo's fingers -or, actually, most of his arm- twitched a bit as Yuki's hand slid against his. He... was still getting used to this sort of thing not resulting in pain, and as of right now (and aside from the occasional very light touch on the shoulder from Usagi who he had met while in the hospital (they had turned out to be in the same clan, and Usagi seemed to like him well enough)) Yuki was the only one that he let touch him... But his hands...
Theo wasn't sure how many times his fingers had been broken, his left ones especially. He couldn't use a few of them at all, and the majority of his fingers on both hands were stiff and twisted even now. But he could still feel things, and he had to try very hard not to flinch whenever they were grabbed...
But he had taken Yuki's hands, he reminded himself, she was just adjusting her grip and she hadn't taken his hand. And that kept him calm enough that he was fairly certain that he could make it to the cliffs without incident.

It took a moment before Yukiko decided to speak up. "Something wrong?" Luckily for the Ookami, her companion wasn't able to see the flash of guilt that had crossed her face when he flinched. No matter how many times she reminded herself, she still had trouble remembering how jumpy Theo could be... especially when it came to physical contact. She honestly wanted to smack herself upside the head sometimes.

Theo hesitated... Friends told each other things, right? He... SHOULD tell Yuki about everything that had gone on before he came here... he knew he should, there was no danger and she was his friend and she deserved an explanation but...
But at the same time, he wasn't sure if he could get the words out and tell her... "Just..." He mumbled, trying to find a way to say things where it wouldn't sound out of the blue or horrible and dammit there was no way for it to not sound like that...
"....Just reflex..." He settled on... though that would probably make an even worse response than anything else...
