"I prefer to think of it as insensitivity rather than a lack of intelligence." Persephone gave her clanmate a sideways glance. "I know you're capable of hurting me, but I just choose to ignore it."

Satoru quirked a brow. "Yeah, see, that's what most people consider 'stupidity...' or a death-wish, either one." He gave a small shrugged and continued limping his way down the mall, it wasn't too long before the escalators reared their moving black heads and Satoru gave an internal sigh of relief. At least they were functioning today, there had been one or two times that he had come here where they were out of order. Walking up and down the stairs had taken painfully long...

Persephone eyed the escalators for a moment before returning her attention to her clanmate. She didn't plan on leaving his side anytime soon; Satoru was far too entertaining.
"I'm not most people," Persephone responded simply. "Besides, agreeing with the social norm is boring. I take pride in avoiding the mentality of the general public."

Satoru glanced at her. "Now, I can respect independence, but sometimes it's more trouble than beneficial. There are times to stand out and times to blend in, even if you don't really agree." Gangs had taught him an interesting mixture of independence, restrained defiance, and feigned cowardice in different proportions. It had let him survive this long though, so he was alright with it.

"Like I said, that's not really my style." Persephone shifted her gaze to the side, a strangely nostalgic look in her eyes. "Honestly, I've never been all to good at restraining myself." Not that she had ever tested the possibility of doing so. The Tora truly had no filter between her mind and her mouth. Maybe that was why her dad liked to wail on her so much... Oh well, it wasn't as if she had to worry about it now. "I guess it's not all to tactful, huh?" She gave a short laugh.

Satoru shrugged. "It's gonna get you your ass handed to ya on a silver platter one day, believe me... But it's not all bad. You mean everything ya say and don't bother with bullshit, so that's almost refreshing." God knew he had had enough of all the doubletalk and false-advertising in the world to last him six lifetimes...

"Glad to know someone thinks of it that way." Well, kinda. Persephone had the feeling that the other Tora wasn't exactly fond of her. But she found enjoyment in pestering him. "And I find your blunt irritablity incredibly entertaining." Persephone chuckled to herself.

Satoru couldn't help but grin a little. "Nice to hear SOMEONE appreciates my snark, even if it is a cretin like you, Chatterbox." The grin had quickly morphed into a smirk by the time the words had left his mouth, which was probably for the best. A smirk suited him better than a smile.

"Aw, you know you love me~," Persephone teased. Well, he was putting up with her at least. Although there was no certainty as to how long that would last. What with how irritating the Tora liked to make herself.

Another snort at the other Tora's words. "If by 'love' you mean, 'want to shoot or strangle everytime I look at your ugly mug' then yes, I love you more than life itself." By now they had reached the escalators, and Satoru got onto one to make the slow decent to the ground. Oh, if only walkways would move too... He was only in his mid thirties, he shouldn't have to complain about aches like an old man...

Persephone faked a wince. "Ouch. You wound me with your words." The Tora stepped onto the escalator as well, without so much as acknowledging the action. She supposed her refusal to leave Satoru be could be considered a bit stalkerish, but oh well. Like she had said before, he was entertaining.

Satoru shifted his weight onto his good leg and glowered back (and up, unfortunately the escalator had made the differences in height even more apparent) at Persephone. "Do you seriously have nothing better to do that follow me around?" Under normal circumstances he wouldn't mind a woman's company, but Persephone wasn't exactly a woman. She was more like an annoying THING to him...

"Nope." Her reply was absolutely shameless. "I'm trying to be a good kid and stay out of trouble; so that kinda limits my options." Persephone looked down at the other Tora with a smirk. "You should be flattered that I find you so amusing."

Satoru kept his expression deadpan and unamused. "I'll let you know when that happens, Chatterbox. I'll send you a gilded invitation to witness my sheer humility in your presence."

Persephone was unaffected by the sarcasm. "I shall await said invitation with baited breath." She was pretty certain nothing of the sort would ever happen; if it did, teasing the elder Tora would cease to entertain her. And that would be a sad thing indeed.
