Jamie relaxed at the bar, a drink in hand and Freed preparing to deal with him all night. It was only his first drink of the evening, miraculously, but he'd be having many more if history was anything to go by. It hadn't been wrong yet, Jamie wasn't about to doubt it.
The redhead was perched so that he had a good view of the door and the patrons, he liked seeing who came in and guessing exactly what they would order. He was accurate more often than not, but that was probably because nearly everyone that went to the bar went to the Allure's bar too. The occasions he saw new faces were the most fun though. That led to talking, and occasionally even to a VERY fun night back at a motel or even a house if the person was particularly trusting...

Kaji had, to put hinge simply, a very long day. Taking classes on assiantship was frustrating even with an understanding professor, but of course, the redheaded youth had the luck of working with an eccentric. On top of his normal work, Kaji had to give tutoring sessions (which was a miracle with his short fuse), and cleaning up before and after all the classes. It was driving him insane. Lately he could barely keep his eyes open; although sleep never came when he needed it. Damn insomnia ruined everything.
Thus, the irritated redhead decided to jump start his system was a little booze. He wasn't going to get completely smashed like an idiot, but there was nothing wrong with some minor intoxication. Money was good this month, so he owed himself a drink. This was the Ookami's precise thought process when he walked into Freed's, sat down and ordered himself a Vodka tonic. A brooding aura settled over him while he waited, shooting off waves of pure "leave-me-the-fuck-alone."

Jamie grinned at the look of the next patron, his drink prediction had been dead-on. It was easy to tell when people had long days, and when that happened they either got buzzed or smashed. This guy was the buzzed type. Definitely not an idiot, but wanted something strong enough to let him relax. "Knew it." He sang over, chuckling at the other man's 'fuck off, ALL OF YOU' aura. He had felt more forceful 'fuck off' vibes from FRED on a bad day. Besides, being annoying was the easiest way to draw someone into a conversation, if not the BEST method to do so.

An icy blue glare was cut towards the other redhead occupying the bar, whose obnoxious chiming had not gone unnoticed. Kaji, not wanting to deal with anyone, repeatedly told himself to shut up and sipped his drink. The alcohol sent an immediate buzz to his brain and a pleasant burn down the back of his throat. His underlying irritation was still there, but the Vodka had taken it down from a deadly level.

Jamie stood and scooted over a few seats to be closer to the new arrival. He just got more interesting the longer he was here. And the more drinks Jamie had, he was sure of that, even though there was only the one right now... Perhaps it would be best to keep the alcohol intake low for a bit, let the cutie adjust to the idea of friendly conversations and drinks. "Well someone seems mad. What's yer trouble?" He asked, his barside manner activating and accent coming in a bit thick.

Kaji looked at the man (who was suddenly sitting much closer than he had been before) with a look of disdainment and heated analyzation. There was a brief pause before the Ookami shifted his gaze forward, the smallest of scowls on his face.
"None of your damn business," he grumbled, sipping at his drink.

Jamie couldn't help but smile. "Ah, but a cute guy like you looking so angry? That most certainly IS my business. Get dumped?" He asked, blunt as per usual. Besides, it was a good way to find out if there was going to be an angry girl/boyfriend to deal with later.

"Like I said before, it's none of your business." He paused for a beat and, sensing this guy wasn't going to go away anytime soon, added, "But no, for your information." He didn't have anyone to be dumped by in the first place. "I just want to sit here and have a drink. Now stay out of my business." Kaji was doubtful that his words would make the fellow redhead leave, but he could hope.

Jamie grinned. "Ah, but dontcha know all drinks are better with someone to share 'em with?" He winked. "An' if you put up with me, I'll buy you a round or two." Not like he couldn't afford it, Freed liked him well enough.

Kaji opened his mouth to argue (most likely with foul language and offensive words), but fell silent, frowning. The thought of free drinks was incredibly tempting. Strapped for cash as he usually was it was hard to pass up free anything. He supposed he could suffer through this persistent man's blabberings for a little while.
"I s'pose I can put up with you in that case," the Ookami stated, finishing off his vodka tonic. His limbs were starting to fill with a pleasant, buzzing heat.

Jamie's smile widened. "That's the spirit! Freed! Another round!" He called to the bartender, who rolled his eyes and set a pair of drinks in front of the two redheads. "So where ya from? Ookami, obviously, but anywhere fantastically interesting before the clans?"

Oh yay. Questions. Kaji inwardly sighed. He hated talking about himself... period. Any insight he gave a person into his life could always be used against him, used to discover weaknesses.
"Not really," the redhead grunted. "I was born here and have been in the city my entire life." A vague, boring answer that didn't reveal anything. Perfect.

Jamie let out a puff of air. "Ah... I was 'oping ya'd be Irish like myself..." He gave a more audible and much more whiny sigh after that. "Everyone's so BORING here after a while. You're NEW though..." He glanced up at the guy through his bangs. "Meaning I don't know your name, m'name's Jamie, Jamie Phoenix." He straightened up and held out a hand to shake.

"Kaji," the boy replied, shaking the other man's hand with some hesitation. He assumed the "Irish" assumption had come from his hair color. Many people assumed he was foreign due to his very un-Japanese appearance. He took after his grandmother, a proud Scotswoman, more than anyone else in his family (in looks and, if stories held true, in temperament). The Ookami was aware in the irony of his name as well. His mother must have had a brilliant sense of humor, to use the word for "fire" as the boy's name with his mop of red hair. It was just another thing he found quite irritating.

Jamie's grin never seemed to falter. "Good ta meetcha, Kaji." He laughed out, slapping the other man's back happily. He didn't really notice the meaning of the name, or if he did he didn't give any indication or caring. "Now, there's got to be SOMETHING special about you, I'm never wrong about these things." He gave a wink. "So what do ya do? Got a job? College? Super-secret ninja powers?" What could he say? He liked being ridiculous when it came to those elusive third examples.
