Jake didn't have much reason to be at the beach, the weather had been bi-polar lately as it was prone to do in spring, and while it was actually rather warm there was no way the water was warm enough to swim. Not that Jake would want to if it was, the ocean was nice and all but it was so salty... Although, both he and Kris had figured that it would be quiet enough there for just about anything. It wasn't beach season yet.
Besides, Jake wasn't entirely comfortable around huge groups of people like in the arena or at the mall just yet. He wanted to kill whatever part of him made him so afraid of being with Kris in a largely-populated public place, but that was easier said than done. So for now, the beach was a good idea. The boardwalk was starting to open up as well, which meant there was more to do than just walk up and down the beach aimlessly.

Kris was his usual happy self that evening, nothing could really bring down his spirits, especially now. Things were starting to get a little warmer out and that meant for being outside! He hated the cold, always had, so the beach was the perfect place to go to(though it wasn't exactly ideal for swimming at the moment, he didn't care). That, and well, he was with Jake, how could he be anything BUT happy? He found it nearly impossible not to hold the blond's hand most of the time since they had left his family's house that day, there were only few times he really convinced himself he needed to let go of him for a while.
As the two were walking, the brunette couldn't help but giggle a little to himself. "It's almost Summer~" he said to Jake eagerly. Though Spring had just recently come around Kris felt the need to announce that Summer, his favorite time of the year, was getting closer and closer. He tilted his head and looked at Jake. "What's your favorite season Jakey?" he asked innocently.

Jake couldn't help but smile a bit. Kris was holding his hand as per usual and it really WAS a nice day, salty air aside. Kris's good cheer was also horribly infectious, so it was difficult for him to be annoyed at much of anything with his... boyfriend (still getting used to that, he was getting there though) around. "...Summer, I suppose, but it ties with Fall. It's a tough call between no school or my birthday and Halloween." Free time or free candy and free stuff, a VERY difficult choice.

Kris nodded and smiled. "Makes sense," he agreed. "Though my birthday's right at Summer, so I guess that's more reason for me to love it so much." He took a deep breath, the salt in the air made it a little funky but it was tolerable he supposed. It felt so nice out, he couldn't wait until it was even warmer so he could actually go swimming here. He looked back down at Jake. "So when exactly's your birthday anyway? I'm suppose to know this sort of stuff right?" he laughed.

Jake swung their hands a little as they walked. "October fourth." He said. "Don't need to worry about it for awhile." Unlike him, if Kris's birthday was right at the start of summer, he really didn't have all that much time to think of something. Well, actually, he had a month or two but he was REALLY bad at picking out gifts for people... "Can I have a day for yours though? If you're supposed to know mine, I should know yours, especially since yours is up first."

October fourth, he could remember that, that was just a couple weeks before Kayla's birthday. He smiled a little more as Jake swung their hands. "June Fourteenth." he replied. "Took me a few years to realize it's technically still in Spring, but I think it's close enough to be considered Summer." It was certainly hot enough too, so what was one week?

Jake nodded. "Should be hot enough by then, so it counts." And school was out before June 14th this year as well, if he wasn't mistaken. A cold, but not particularly snowy winter had left them with a shorter school-year overall. Which was nice. "Especially with how early we're going to get out of school this year, anything in Summer Vacation is part of summer."

Kris blinked and laughed a little awkwardly. "School, that's right..." he had honestly forgotten all about it, what with all the days he's missed this year. There really was no way he was passing ANY of his classes this year and he knew it good and well. He was really considering dropping out, he wouldn't be the first to do it after all, lots of kids dropped out after getting in the clans. He was shocked he stuck with it as long as he did. It was just hard and he always got stuck with the worst teachers possible it seemed, so he just didn't go.

Jake glanced to Kris. "You haven't gone much at all this year, have ya?" It was hard NOT to notice, being the other Tora's roommate and all. Not that Jake minded all that much, it was the norm for students to drop out once they reached the clans. There were very few kids in high school that had bracelets, and those who did usually caused the most fights. Jake had kept his bracelet hidden under sweatshirts and jackets, and even that wasn't usually needed since he was old hat at blending into the background.
He WOULD have dragged Kris to school, but with how little the other had gone, it would be much more effective to do so after summer. At least then he could start off the year fresh...

The taller of the two sighed, looking back at Jake with a timid smile. "Nope, I honestly couldn't tell ya some of my teachers' names..." Pathetic? Yeah, he could admit it. "I've been thinking about dropping out for a while now..." he muttered quietly. He really didn't even see a point in going anymore, there was no way he was going to graduate in time.
Kris quickly picked Jake up and hugged him in an obvious attempt to change the topic. "So what's sounds good to do right now, huh~?" he smiled cheerfully.

Jake squeaked as he was swept up, arms latching around Kris on reflex as a blush spread across his face... again. Why was that happening so much? First relationship jitters or something? He'd do is best to squash it in the future. "Putting me down would be a nice start." He grumbled good-naturedly. It was hard to be mad at Kris, after all.

Kris blinked and giggled, quickly kissing Jake on the cheek before setting him back on his feet. "Sorry, habit," he laughed, scratching his head. He poked the blond's forehead teasingly. "I kinda like being eye to eye with ya every so often." he joked. The height difference wasn't too bad, he honestly didn't mind it, but he'd prefer them to be a little closer in height had he the choice.

"You callin' me short?" Jake accused, playfully swatting away the prodding finger. He wasn't short, everyone else was just too damn tall. At least it wasn't as bad as it could be, though. five-foot-two was better than being an even five feet tall...

Kris laughed and took Jake's hand again. "You said it yourself, not me~" he grinned. "But there's nothin' wrong with it, just makes ya cuter is all." he added quickly, still giggling about it. He thought it was kinda adorable how Jake tried to act all tough(not saying that he wasn't, just his appearance doesn't really help his efforts).

Jake pouted, further ruining his chances of disproving the 'adorable' comment. Though that didn't mean he couldn't try. "'M not cute, 'm manly as hell." He said as he entwined their fingers.
