Persephone sat on one of the garden's various benches, leaning back and letting the occasional patch of sunlight warm her skin. She wasn't wearing a jacket (as always), but there was a neatly folded hoodie sitting in her bag. Jane, now that she was living with her, was being extraordinarily motherly and had forced her to take it in case she got "cold." Things seemed to be going well. There was a lot less stress between the twins now that their father was out of the picture, and Jane had a good job at the hospital. She was even going through classes to slowly work her way into nursedom. Life, however boring, was good. And that was better than boring and bad.
The Tora girl pulled a cookie from her bag and nibbled on it absentmindedly. Her eyes roamed the garden, watching the few people roaming about. Now that the weather was a little nicer, more people seemed to be out and about.

It was a beautiful day, so what better way for 'Doka to spend the day than being outside? The weather was perfect in her opinion, and as she climbed up one of the trees in the garden, she couldn't help but pause for a moment to take in the fresh air. It sure was nice now that things weren't so hectic for the blue eyed Ookami anymore. She sat up in one of the branches and took her sketch book out of the backpack she had strapped to her back and began drawing what was around her. She needed to practice landscapes, those were always difficult for her for some reason.
As she was drawing however, her pencil had slipped out of her hand and fallen out of the tree. Darn it! That was the only pencil she'd brought with her too! She carefully put her sketch book back in her backpack and started trying to climb back down. The only problem was that she was suddenly washed in a fear of heights.
"Gah..." she whined quietly. "Umm... is anybody there?!" she called. "I-I need help! Please?"

Somehow, Persephone's ears seemed well-tuned for detecting cries of help. She stood, quickly dusting off any stray cookie crumbs and walked towards the source of the quiet pleads. She stopped in front of a nearby tree, using one hand to shield her eyes from the sun as she gazed up into the branches. Yep, there was definitely a girl there, clinging tothe branches fearfully.
"Do ya need help down, little lady?" the Tora asked with a grin. Somehow this reminded her of when she and Jane were little. The smaller of the twins always seemed to be getting trapped in a variety of places.

Madoka was instantly grateful when she saw the older girl down below. She laughed awkwardly. "I'd appreciate it." she replied timidly. She felt so stupid, she should have known she'd get freaked out by heights, but is was for the sake of ART! She would have done anything for that, and, if she was correct, her father was very much the same when he was alive. One of the things she got from him she guessed.

"No problem," Persephone laughed, although her face was a thoughtful one. What would be th best way to go about doing this without injuring anyone? Thankfully, the tree had plenty of branches and the girl was pretty small (in comparison to Persephone at least). The Tors shrugged and jumped, grabbing onto the lowest branch and hauling herself upwards. She ascended a few more branches and then held out her hand to the younger girl.
"You can pretty much use the branches like steps," the Tora explained kindly. "Just take my hand to keep you steady. I'll help you climb the very last bit."

Madoka held onto the branch for dear life as the Tora made her way up to her. "O-okay..." she mumbled, taking the girl's hand and carefully taking each branch at a time. She was nearly certain she would trip, but somehow, she had managed to stay decently steady. She stuck her tongue out the corner of her mouth as if it would help her concentrate on the steps even more. Her face was a little pink from embarrassment, asking someone to help her like this out of nowhere... she was a baby.

"See? 'S not so hard." The Tora gradually lowered herself downward, matching the younger girl's pace so that was always just below her. A few feet before the trunk met the ground the branches stopped, leaving them no more footholds. Persephone released her companions hand and dropped into the grass, landing neatly on her feet.
"You're small, so I can catch you pretty easily. All you gotta do is jump." Of course, if you were afraid of heights this was easier said then done... But it was no where near impossible.

Madoka hesitated for a moment from where she was on the tree. What if she didn't catch her and she broke her leg? Or what if she ended up hurting the girl on accident in some way? The Ookami dropped her backpack down first so not to add any additional weight for her fall.
"Okay..." she whispered to herself. "Three, two..." she shut her eyes. "One!" she quickly jumped to get it over with, she just REALLY hoped this wasn't a mistake.

Persephone wrapped her arms around Madoka's waist with expert timing, leaning back so that the momentum from the fall caused her to fall back on her butt. This kept the possible damage to either girl at a complete minimum. Any impact the smaller girl may have taken from the fall was absorbed by Persephone's backside.
"You okay?" the Tora asked with a laugh.

"EEP!!" 'Doka shrieked when she fell. Luckily the Tora girl had in fact caught her and broken her fall. When asked how she was Madoka couldn't help but giggle a little. "Y-yeah, I'm fine." she replied, quickly jumping to her feet. "Thanks. Um, I'm Madoka..." it was nice to introduce yourself to the person that saved your life, right? "What's your name?"

"Persephone," the elder girl replied, straightening up and releasing Madoka's waist. She paused, studying the girl she had just caught. A green bracelet indicated to her that she was an Ookami. Madoka seemed pretty quiet too, as well as more on the cute and innocent side. The Tora couldn't help but smile a little. This girl truly did remind her of her sister, minus Jane being a total chatterbox.

Doka smiled a little wider, but not to its full potential. "Nice to meet ya, Persephone. You can call me 'Doka, most people tend to prefer that." she said, scratching her head a little. "Could I call you Pers maybe? It's kinda a mouthful..." she stopped and realized that might have been taken offensively. "Well, if you'd rather not it's fine! I understand!"
Madoka wasn't normally this shy, but with the whole thing with her voice just now coming back to its full strength, she didn't want to make an idiot of herself and mess up her speak again. She noticed if she got too worked up her voice got off again, maybe she should probably calm down a little in that case.

"Nah, Pers is fine. Most people call me that anyways." Or Seph. Or Persy. Or even Phone in some cases... The list of nicknames for her never seemed to stop. The Tora dug around in her bag for a moment, producing more of the chocolate chip cookies Jane had baked that morning, offering one to her new companion. "D'ya want a cookie, 'Doka?"

Madoka giggled a little. Okay, so things were going pretty smooth, aside from the tree thing she wasn't making a fool out of herself. Though her smile did grow and her eyes widen at the request. "I'd love one! Thanks!" she gratefully took the cookie and started to nibble on it. "So, Pers, what'cha doin' around the garden? If you don't mind me asking I mean."

"Getting some air, that's all." The Tora shrugged and bit into another cookie. There wasn't much more of an explanation behind her presence. She still needed moments of solitude even though she'd hated them before. Persephone was too used to being alone to give up isolation completely. For the first time she had something that resembled normalcy in her life, a cycle that repeated without screaming and violence. It was good, but hard to get used to for someone as rough around the edges as Pers was. She was happy, but bored. So she walked around the city every couple of days, looking for something somewhat interesting.
"So what about you, kid?" The Tora asked, her mouth full of cookie. "What were you doing in a tree?"
